We ended up having a nice conversation about supporting local businesses. It was one of those little interactions that made the experience feel especially personal and reminded me why I love discovering local spots. Of course, I couldn't choose just one cookie I tried the pumpkin spice and lemon blueberry, and both were SO good. The pumpkin spice was amazing, and the lemon blueberry had the perfect balance of lemony goodness and sweetness from the blueberries. Both cookies were baked perfectly--soft in the middle with just the right amount of crispiness on the bottom and edges. I also have a chocolate chunk and an apple pie cookie to try, and based on the first two, I expect it will be nothing but delicious! So happy I found this place!

Their booth under a little canopy provided all us eclipse watchers, with sweet treats. They had cookies and a special, Moon Pie Concrete. I didn't try the cookies, but I enjoyed my concrete. I was surprised that they were able to still create a tasty sweet treat away from their brick and mortar. The Moon Pie Concrete, which is a great name for a eclipse special. It was made with banana custard, chocolate hardshell and pieces of Moon pie. Simply said, it was yummy. I've never been a fan of Moon Pies, but this concrete won me over. The staff was friendly and kept their line moving and trust me, they had a line for the majority of the day. Now I just need to get myself to their main location and have a true experience.

They were one of my favorite pastries she made. (Obv not super important I just thought she may not know & what could it hurt giving her some input from a customer, she may know know?) In this message I also told her how long I'd been supporting her & why and how much I loved her bakery. She is black, female, and truly an artist and master at her craft. With a good personality, That being said; she unleashed her fury on me, one of the angriest most condescending messages I had ever read. Not sure if I caught her on a bad day or she just doesn't handle feedback well. I was stunned and disappointed. Either way, I would never consider stepping foot into her bakery ever again. Her window has maybe 5 things to choose from. It's pretty sad, but there were 2 items I love love loved, and I drove out of my way and paid top dollar for those items. She's by far one of the most expensive bakeries in St. Louis, but I enjoyed supporting her I thought she was great. And she has a moving story. Sadly she doesn't know how to handle customers or feedback. I'm in customer service, 30 years, that's not how you do it, I still think she's a cool Person but not enough to support her. As we drove in the area we saw this cute little bakery called Made by Lia! It was so warm on the inside and the workers made it feel very welcoming due to the intimacy when you first walk in from the "Hello's" along with the fact you can see the process and love that goes through each treat, due to the open area in the back where you can see them baking every item! They have so many menu items! I tried the St. Louie Lemon Cake, and the Honey Cinnamon speciality latte! And the rest of the treats that were on display looked just as yummy! I had to resist buying more than one thing (they all looked so good) I definitely will be back to Knit/Crochet while I sip and indulge in a yummy coffee and snack.
