It was a mistake to try Chinese food on Christmas Day. I hadn't planned ahead and hadn't gotten groceries, and a Jewish friend of mine mentioned his Chinese food tradition, so I figured I'd give this place a shot. Maybe they're fine on other days, but it took two and a half hours for my meal to be ready, long after the quoted time online. I'm sure they were exhausted and working nonstop. The pepper chicken was pretty good, except it was missing the egg I paid to add, as well as the rice. I'm giving them grace because they were way overworked that night, and the food was pretty good. But they definitely need to cap orders or give more accurate time estimates. So, I got delivery, pretty late...the food was hot and fresh! It was delicious, and I literally got three meals out of my one order of General Tso's chicken. And they include a free small side! I got crab Rangoon, then ordered another order of it, knowing that a small side wouldn't be enough. To my surprise, in total, even if I had not gotten the extra couple of pieces, it would have been enough! And their crab Rangoon is also delicious! I will definitely be ordering from then again! I love that they give you the option to take away some of the spice if you want because while I love Chinese food I'm also a big wimp about spices! The combo plate came with fried rice and choice of crab Rangoon or egg roll. I opted for crab Rangoon and they were good, classic rangoons like I'd expect. The combo plate was plenty of food for a super filling meal plus leftovers that I'll be diving into tomorrow! I loved the mix of veggies that came with the garlic chicken. Best Chinese in St. Louis area. Since they opened they are the only one I will go to. They are so wonderful to customer. They remember their customer so very well. When we place our order because we basically get the same thing every time that they know who we are and don't even have to ask our name for the order. I have only ever ordered delivery from New China (found them on Skip the Dishes), and every time its been great. I'm only not giving a fifth star since I've never been in person and don't know what the restaurant is like. I've called the restaurant once to see if they deliver, but they only use Skip the Dishes for delivery; they offer take out. The woman I spoke to on the phone was kind. Let's get down to brass tacks. For starters, the wonton soup is great! The broth has a nice spice to it, without too much heat, and good balance of flavor. The wontons are large, so if that's what you're after, you'll enjoy :). The wontons themselves aren't so much my thing, but the broth is so good I still order the soup. I typically prefer crab rangoon to egg rolls, and that's true here also. The egg rolls seemed full of a cabbage or bok choy, so it just wasn't for me. The menu is like any other Chinese restaurant, same offerings and such, including the chefs specialties and lunch and dinner meals, all at an affordable price. Not like all the other Chinese restaurants is the food here is NOT GREASY.
