Man what a lunch I've had today. The waitress was so sweet and hard working she got to us very quickly and had no problem with getting us extra napkins and water. Inside was very small but plenty of room but you can most definitely smell the rich aroma coming from the food! Our spring rolls were delicious and it was big enough to make it filling. But the #22 was absolutely delicious man what can i say something bad about it. The rice was amazing and has great seasoning and the chicken is fried and it came out crispy, juicy and well seasoned! Went here for lunch and man this single experience made my whole day and was definitely worth it! I'll be back!

The food and service here is awesome. The guy who took our order , who I think is the owner was very friendly. The food came out fast and was delicious. The prices seemed to be very fair and the place was clean.

They had far more interesting things on the menu but today I was just craving my go-to: shrimp fried rice & crab rangoon. The shrimp was plump & tasty. It was exactly the flavors I was craving. Very friendly staff, food came out fast & fresh.

    Spring Rolls

Amazing food and great service with wonderful explanations. The spring rolls were freshly made and delicious. The Pho Ga was lovely and light with an array of veggie and herb add ins. I will be back.

I went here for the first time for lunch today. I got the lemongrass tofu stir fry and it was absolutely delicious. Tofu was seasoned and cooked to perfection!!

Honestly, the 2 soups I tried the other night are still on my mind and I am trying to figure out how to have them again! How can I re-create them? How can I purchase a gallon of them? I cannot wait for the next pop up! When we went to The Vandy the other night for some cocktails, we knew that Soul Soup would be on the scene serving up 2 different soups for us to try (The High Life and Thai Me Up). The menu was posted on Angie's Insta page a few days in advance of the pop up (see photo of the menu) and I just knew we had to try them both! When we arrived and placed our cocktail orders, we also asked for a bowl of each of the soups to try and when they were brought out the table, they were piping hot and smelled so good! I was happy to know that rather than adding in the bacon to the High Life, they could serve it on the side so that my dining partner could enjoy the bacon while I just wanted to enjoy the soup with the pretzel bites no bacon! Two bowls of soup was a perfect amount for the 2 of us to share and when we were finished, Angie came out of the kitchen to meet some of the customers - it was so nice to meet Angie and she is seriously so friendly! I will keep my eyes peeled to her Insta to see when and where she will be next and you should too! It's soup season and if you want some of the best soup in STL, this is the place to find!

But we FINALLY got to try them and taste what the hype was all about. We shared some beef and some pork dumplings, and my husband also got the pork meal. The pork meal was meh, and we definitely didn't need it. I would stick to dumplings, and if you don't think it's enough food, get a third order. Both the pork and beef had very different flavor, but both were fantastic. Super fresh, you can see them making them in the back. Definitely look up a video on how to eat them correctly before you come here, because they are SO enjoyable. Definitely a comfort meal. My only complaint is prices seem pretty steep. I get it, inflation, but this is a pretty expensive meal for a couple dumplings. I love having a spot like this close and recommend everyone to at least try it! So unique, fun, and delicious.

Advertisements online talked about "rolling out the red carpet" for mom, including receiving a glass of champagne, a hand-selected personal gift from the team, and a special Art Deco Goddess coloring sheet for the kids. However, our Mother's Day experience was not special at all. I went with my husband, 2 young kids, and my mother. When the waitress greeted us, she wasn't very friendly and didn't even say Happy Mother's Day when there was 2 mothers at the table. She didn't mention anything about the free champagne...we had to ask for it. We did not receive a hand-selected personal gift. There was also no special coloring sheet for the kids - we were just coloring on the kids menu. Nothing about our experience was special. Next year, I will pick somewhere else to go for Mother's Day. I felt more like a burden here than someone to be celebrated. The food was still decent. I got the pesto chicken sandwich with the bird seed salad. The bird seed salad was the star. Loved the poppyseed vinaigrette dressing and the bruleed apple slice (never seen that before - how unique and cool!). The pesto sandwich was a bit difficult to eat - while the chicken was moist, the bread was very crusty and dry which made the overall sandwich very dry. It was kinda hard to get through. I ended up taking it home and reheating it in the microwave and it was a little better after doing that because it allowed the pesto to soak into the bread and moisten it up a bit. I ordered a scoop of Zanzibar chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and this was truly amazing. The kids menu could definitely use some work - seems more like an after thought. It isn't even posted online to view in advance. I can't remember all the choices, but it was limited. I remember 2 different peanut butter sandwiches available, Mac and cheese, and a "pizza" on focaccia type bread. I put pizza in quotes because most kids I know are picky and this isn't a traditional pizza so we couldn't order this because our kids probably wouldnt eat it especially if the bread on the pizza was as dry and crusty as it was on my pesto sandwich. We ended up ordering the Mac and cheese, which was actually really good and the kids liked it. Just wish there were more options. What was really disappointing though is they served apple slices on the plate with the core still in it...serving apple core to a child is a safety hazard and just plain lazy.

It's crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. Another dish that I love from here is the braised beef noodles soup. The broth was so flavorful and the meat was super soft. It's the best that I have had in the Stl area. Other dishes that I would recommend are the Hakka stir fried and the fish with black bean sauce but overall you can't really go wrong with anything. What amazes me is that all these amazing dishes were prepared by one person, who was also the owner.
