Thanks to Yelp I found this place while in the neighborhood. Clean and welcoming with friendly service and authentic tonkotsu ramen. I'm not a fan of corn in my dishes which was not an issue here. I will definitely be back to try the eel. Thanks for lunch. Pics included
I love the piano soft music playing in the background and the quick service! There're a lot of options on the menu, and me and my friend decided to try their ramen. Honestly the broth was really bland and the chicken was rather dry and thin. If you like lighter flavor ramen, maybe this would be a good option for you!
Dined in on a snowy Thursday, and some hot ramen was needed! The server was friendly and got all our orders correct. And the restaurant was pretty quiet inside, I think it wasn't as busy because of the snow. I loved the flavors and the food! I would order again because of the service and the Super Ichiro Ramen!
This Japanese-style ramen joint is one that I've visited twice now and is fire in my opinion and this is coming from someone who lived in Japan for three years not that long ago and I think I know my ramen pretty well. This is one of my favorite ramen places in the St. Louis area, albeit there's several places I haven't been to yet. Most recently I ordered the Super Ichiro Ramen that has a little spicy heat that I love and was heavenly. On my first to Ichiro awhile back I ordered the pork katsu ramen and remember it as delicious as well. Also, for an appetizer I ordered the Chinese style dumplings that were killer and on my previous visit had the gyoza Japanese dumplings that were delicious too and the dunking sauce for both appetizers was amazing. Drinks I've had are the milk boba tea and before that the Thai ice tea and both recommended. Service is friendly but a little bit perfunctory as is common in many Asian restaurants I've been to here and overseas as well and the decor isn't anything fancy and typical of other Japanese restaurants I've been to around St. Louis, which is to say fine.

This is by far the best ramen I've had in St Louis. The portion size was fantastic, I ate more than I should have because it was so good. The chicken katsu was delicious. You can tell it was breaded in house. Service was prompt and very good. The place itself is so calm and relaxing. Honestly I'll be back probably weekly, it's so nice to know I won't have to leave far from Arnold to get some great ramen. Also if you've never had Ramune i recommend getting it once, it's a fun little soda and pretty good.
I drove 40 minutes to check this place out! I REALLY WANTED TO like this place, but I left disappointed. They are still new and probably figuring out a few kinks. This review is from my first time experience. My friend and I ordered their ramen and we shared a bingsu as our dessert. The Spicy Pork Ramen and Sapporo Ramen. I get a tingling or tightness in my face when I eat too much MSG, which is the reaction I got after I ate their ramen. If you're not sensitive to MSG, go for it! I'm not necessarily against the use of MSG, just not too much of it. The ramen needed more broth and was too concentrated for me. Flavors were okay, but a bit too salty. Noodles were a mix of spaghetti and ramen texture. It needed more starchiness and chewiness. The pork Chasu was difficult to chew and rubbery, and the egg was a bit overcooked. The Strawberry Bingsu was questionable. I wish I had taken the photo of the first Bingsu that they brought out because it was so bad. It was just shaved ice and popping boba in a small dish for $8.00. It was nothing like the photos in their menu and would've been finished with 2 spoonfuls. My friend complained, so the gentleman cut up fresh strawberries and remade it for us. It was a little better, but it was definitely not worth $8.00. Flavors were good and loved their shaved ice, but I hope they can figure out the quantity, quality, and presentation of it. Ice is cheap, y'all. Definitely would use a bigger bowl for the shaved ice. Overall, it was a poor experience, and I probably will never get a ramen there again. I'll come back to try their Bento Boxes or donburi if friends ever want to go, but I probably won't go out of my way. Other things to look forward to.... Occasionally, you will hear a lady yelling in the kitchen. They do have a friendly staff, clean atmosphere, and convenient parking.
Some of the best Takoyaki I've had. I recommend it fully. Ive also had the udon and a ramen and both are very good in flavor and well presented. I think the price is very good for what you get.
Service was wonderful and friendly. Our apps and main dishes all came out together but typical of some more ethnic restaurants. Everyone was happy with the food and prices were reasonable. Steady business on a Saturday hut open tables for walk ins as well. Gyoza were tasty! Hibachi was a great deal. Ramen was good but thought it was odd the chicken came on the side. Would come back to try other items if I'm in the area but won't be making a special trip to revisit either.
What I ordered: Chicken Stir Fry Ramen with an order of Crab Rangoons and a Thai Tea. Would I go again: I'll keep this on my list forsure. I took this order to go, so I'd love to go back and dine in. They had so many options to choose from but I kept it simple and was satisfied. The crab Rangoons were a little over cooked for me, but the overall taste was good. They recently opened for business, so be sure to try them out now before business is booming!

The gyoza was tasty, but it tasted very similar to frozen ones I've had before. The shoyu ramen was disappointing. The broth was flat in flavor, not the dynamic, umami I expect from ramen. The noodles were overcooked and in a clump at the bottom of the bowl. The egg was hard boiled rather than soft. Something I quickly noticed was that the menu consisted of five pages of various Chinese and Korean dishes before the two pages of ramen options. Maybe their other dishes are better, but for a restaurant that has "ramen" in the name, I would hope the ramen is the focus but it didn't feel that way. I'd be willing to try it again in a few months after they have worked out some of the kinks and I'll update my review when I do.

I decided to try Ichiro Ramen again and order a Ramen that didn't have corn. Not sure why I don't like the addition of corn, lol. I love corn otherwise. In a retail plaza next to the Post Office, easy parking right in front. The entry leads to a half wall that now indicates you should wait to be seated. I was greeted and seated upon entry. Serena was my server and she was really sweet. She brought me water and gave me time with the menu. The menu has quite a few different sections, but I focused on the Ramen! I decide to go with the Super Ichiro Ramen that has chicken and pork chashu, bamboo shoots, seasoned egg (two halves!) green onion, fish cake, spinach, and black garlic oil. The pork and chicken chashu were so good! There was lots of chicken and I loved it. I really enjoyed the broth. I asked for extra chili oil as I wanted more heat. I really, really want to try the Crab Rangoon but the only option is to order six and that is too many even counting leftovers. I wish they offered a smaller option. I enjoyed the different Ramen I ordered, and the wait staff was really friendly. If you want something other than Ramen, there is plenty to choose from! Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Udon, Korean chicken, Hibachi, Teriyaki, Chef's Specialties, Bowls, Donburi, and Stir Fry. Wow. read more
The service was great! Our waitress was a young lady who was very kind and seemed a little shy, but she did an excellent job and was very attentive. We ordered the Teriyaki Entrée Combo with chicken and steak. The entrée itself was absolutely delicious and definitely a 5-star meal. The chicken and steak were flavorful, and we really enjoyed it. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wasn't a fan of the soup and house salad that came with the meal. In my opinion, those were more of a 1-star experience. However, the entrée and the service were both outstanding. I would definitely come back for the teriyaki combo! read more
We came here while driving across state borders and decided to stop since we were craving ramen on a cold rainy day. The restaurant is in a quiet suburban area. It was clean inaide and the menu was simple but had all the basics. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. For the price, compared to city restaurants, it felt like a great deal. The ramen was flavorful, and the katsu was really yummy. Service was great and friendly. I would definitely recommend and would stop by again if I'm in the area. read more

Yesterday, we decided to try Ichiro Ramen anew restaurant near us. It's located in the Oakville Dierbergs plaza downtown there is plenty of parking near the entrance. Since ramen is in the name (along with other Japanese specialties) we ordered two kinds: more traditional ramen with broth and sautéed ramen. We added some gyoza as appetizers. I took this order home, but would have really enjoyed eating this there. The decor is fresh and new. My husband enjoyed his ramen & so did I. I like gyoza crispy, but it was tasty nevertheless. If your in the mood for Japanese fusion, try it. There is something for many palates on the menu. read more

Food was delicious. Got the Crab Rangoons, Chicken Katsu Ramen and spicy Miso Ramen. All three dishes were great, had me happy dancing with every bite and eyes rolling to the back of my head our waiter, didn't get his name, was so great to us. Very friendly and funny. Amazing food and amazing service. We've been when it's busy and when there was plenty of seating options, the service was still great. The food is amazing. The Angel Fire Bowl is so fresh. My husband loves the ramen bowls and tries a different one each time. The crab rangoon has "crab meat" and isn't overly sweet. We have loved everything we've gotten from here and have recommendationed this place to many friends! read more

Clean restaurant with friendly service. The slushes were a delicious treat. The ramen was ok, nothing bad but not amazing overall. What I really liked in the tonkotsu ramen was the broth and the beef. The beef was absolutely delicious and the star of the ramen. The downsides of our meal was the spicy miso ramen didn't have any spice at all and we had to ask for extra hot sauce to add in. We also went during a busy time and waited about 40 minutes for our food. Would recommend an appetizer if you are really hungry to snack on during your wait. Overall, it wasn't terrible and would be willing to return in a few months to see if service becomes quicker and better. read more

Been here twice, it's pretty good! I recently ordered the spicy miso ramen and I've tried the crab rangoons in the past, which I loved. The ramen wasn't the best I've had, but maybe I'm just picky or maybe miso just isn't for me. They serve their broth at a lukewarm temperature, it could've been hotter but it wasn't cold. I enjoyed the toppings they added to the ramen, especially the soft-boiled egg because it was marinated and full of flavor. The portions are huge and I struggled to finish. The ambiance is good and it's a nice place, and the servers are really nice and want to help you! I love its location because there aren't a lot of authentic Asian/ramen restaurants in south St. Louis County. Overall would recommend to try it, but not sure I'd go back regularly. read more
