When I immediately walked in the guy looked at me but I was looking at the menu then he came up to the counter to take ny order. I ordered a half order of veggie fried rice, crab ragoon, and whole order of chicken fried rice. The rice itself isn't the dark looking type of rice that most people from STL is used to. The crab ragoon was only filled with cream cheese. The rice was just bland in my opinion and definitely needed some soy sauce. If you are looking for some flavor I'd look elsewhere. Yeah, could've been better. Tried the crab Rangoons, steamed dumplings, steamed chicken and broccoli, and sweet and sour chicken. It was all very mid. The crab Rangoons were filled with just cream cheese. The steamed chicken was a weird soft flavor that was a bit off-putting. I've been going here for Years!!!! Always get good food and service, however the last time I got beef and broccoli, my regular order, the meat tasted like it was rancid so I didn't eat but I ate the rice and vegetables. Never got sick but it scared me. Not a fancy place but my coworkers and I eat there for lunch often. The lo mein was better than any other I've tried from a fast Chinese restaurant- nice flat thick noodles, not greasy and flavorful. The pork and broccoli was a good portion size and had decent amount of vegetables to pork ratio. The crab Rangoon was the hit of the meal with cheese filling worth the money! Flaky crunchy fried wonton with a generous portion of crab-cheese filling popping out each corner. This is a newer restaurant and its located in the same shopping plaza as Shop 'n Save in Maplewood. There is always plenty of parking. There are a handful of table to use if you want to eat it there. I have only had the food to go. The people are friendly and the combination dinners are filling and fresh. They offer white and fried rice as choices in the combo dinners.
