Got here late night Sunday. Was told there is a 30-40 min wait. We got seated around 20 mins. Rec doing online reservations. During our wait I did order their corner 17 milk tea which is earl grey I think. I got it less sweet but can do the full sweet amount. Sticky rice shumai a good and dense. Good for our baby or toddler to eat. But would not get again just bc the menu has more I want to try. Soup dumplings - great and off menu Spicy wonton chili oil - my fav! Garlic chicken and broccoli. It was very bland. Not good. The service was so nice. They seated us and our baby at a 2 person table. Our waitress saw and hurried over and moved us to a 4 person table. Which is extremely helpful bc the high chair didn't stick out and we had table space to keep all the food away from baby's curious hands. Would totally come back here again and try diff menu items! We saw some honey walnut shrimps that looked amazing at other tables. And the boba tea here is better than the one we had down the street the day before.
What a tasty meal! Upon arriving, I parked in the parking lot behind the restaurant. We joined the online waitlist and waited for around 20 minutes. All of the staff were very friendly. The coolest part of this restaurant is that you can see them hand-toss the noodles, dinner and a show! It's a medium-sized restaurant, seats can fill up fast. To start, we ordered the wontons in chili oil. They were incredible! They delivered a nice kick of heat and had a balanced flavor profile from the dough and the savory pork filling. We also ordered the pork bao. These were very good, but I'm not the biggest fan of pork, so I won't order them again. They were filled with a saucy pork filling and were a nice size. For my entree, I ordered the kung pao chicken, which came with a side of fluffy rice. The chicken was slightly sweet, contained crunchy peanuts, and was quite spicy. The chunks of ginger were not my favorite, and I did not enjoy the dark meat, which left some of the pieces of chicken rather chewy. I loved the flavor, though! To finish it off, I ordered the peach boba tea. I loved this and will definitely order it again. It was refreshing, and the peach flavor was not overpowering.
We came for lunch on a Sunday around 2:30 and we surprised at the wait. About half an hour, and the place was packed! We had heard great things, so we decided to stay. Not the best hostess experience, as they made us enter our own info into their tablet, which wasn't on the correct screen, making it more confusing and difficult then it needed to be. Maybe a more efficient system could be used? The waiting area is also where the to go and tea orders are, which had some tables and a large tv playing shows to keep you entertained. When we got the text that our table was ready, we were seated quickly and got to be right next to the window I to the noodle making area! Fun to watch the process of them being made and cut. We tried a couple of different things, including the trio bao (the meat filled was our favorite), a tea egg (hard to peel but interesting taste if you have the patience) and two different dinner types. The mala soup bowls have a ton of options and allowed for us to try different add ins, while the Sichuan spicy noodle (hand it) were a very different dish! Everything was tasty and aside from 1 item being missed in a dish, came out perfect. When the error was found 2 different people came by to apologize and make sure it was taken off of the bill. Loved our visit and can't wait to take others here soon! If you get a chance, GO!
Corner 17 is definitely my favorite place to go in the loop. The portions are perfect to split, me and my friend split everything. We got scallion pancakes, general tsos, chicken hand pulled noodles and crab rangoon. Everything was delicious!
Hand‑pulled noodles -- that's the heart of Corner 17, and watching them make those signature noodles by hand is genuinely mesmerizing. We were visiting WashU for a college tour, and afterward decided to wander around the Delmar Loop, where we stumbled upon Corner 17. Checking in is simple: you walk up to the front, give them your cellphone number and name, and they text you when it's your turn. Our wait was surprisingly quick -- about 15 minutes before we were seated. The tables were spotless, almost too spotless -- they had a faint chlorine smell, but honestly, that just made them feel extra clean. Once seated, we ordered their hand‑pulled beef stew noodles and beef tripe noodles, and both dishes were absolutely phenomenal. The texture of the noodles, the depth of the broth, the richness of the beef -- everything was on point. We also grabbed a few appetizers, and they were just as impressive. Overall, the experience was wonderful. The food is outstanding, the service is smooth, and watching the chefs actually pull and stretch noodles right in front of you is a highlight all on its own. We're already planning to come back.
I've been to Corner 17 at least four or five times and my favorite things to get are the wontons in chili oil, handmade noodles, and fluffy ice. Today we tried the taro fluffy ice and the portion size is huge. It was enough for 4 people and came with creamy taro topping, super soft shaved ice and lychee flavored popping boba on top. They also have really good bubble tea here! Prepare for a wait since their tables are usually full, but we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table on a weekday.
This was exactly what I needed in my life. Delicious, and I mean delicious Chinese food, walking distance from my hotel. Located in the Delmar Loop, there are a lot of good restaurants but I highly encourage you to check this spot out. While I dined in, it seems perfect for takeout too. The 'Three Cup Chicken' was a big time winner with crispy chicken thighs, cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We also tried the chili oil dumplings, and some sort of magical green tea drink. Service was good, vibes are good, and really it's a great spot. I feel like you could probably point anywhere on the menu and find something that sounds delicious, including their boba and other tea drinks. Go check this spot out!
This is the place to be! Everything is 10/10. Plenty of parking. Service is excellent. Can be a wait for a table. Wontons in chili sauce is one of the best. Tender skin, delish filling, just the right amount. It's a bit spicy for sure. Black pepper chicken. Amazing flavor. My fav dish. Fried rice is so good! Simple dish but so tasty! Everything on the menu has so much flavor. Everything is fresh and delish. Great milk tea and boba. Highly recommend.
I can't believe it took me so long to try this place! We ordered the crab Rangoon, wontons in chili oil and the pork bao buns for appetizers. The wontons were a huge hit for the 5 of us. I got the 3 cup chicken and it was so flavorful and saucy. The cucumber salad was very crisp and fresh. Huge portions for everything. I would definitely recommend joining the waitlist on Yelp beforehand so you don't have to wait as long. Our server was so nice and attentive. Only downfall is that not all our meals came out at the same time but we didn't mind too much. There is so much more on the menu to try. Their to go bags are top notch
ALWAYS a great experience at Corner 17!! I've been here so many times and tried so many different kinds of dishes and appetizers on their menu - everything's delicious! Today was the first time I tried dessert from Corner 17 (since I'm usually too full for dessert!) : we got the Mango Shaved Ice. So good!! The mangos are fresh and the shaved ice also has the flavor of mango, without tasting artificial. The popping bobas on the side are also a great touch. Service is also always quick and friendly. Would recommend to anyone who hasn't been here before yet!
When you see the option to join the waitlist, you should take it; when you see the ETA, you should believe it. Corner 17 is a popular spot at lunch time, dinner time, and any time between. Simce we already found ourselves near the Loop, my wife and I decided to visit for the second time tonight. We're glad we did. As busy as it was, their system is efficient. There was a span of about 50 minutes from walking into the dining room and back out onto Delmar, with multiple water refills and check-ins along the way. Once you open the menu, time is replaced with a question: How can I decide what sounds best with so many options that sound delicious? We both struggled between three or four dishes, but soaked in the bright green walls and large window into the kitchen as the team hand-stretched noodles and our choice narrowed down to an order. We finally settled on an appetizer of crab rangoon along with Kung Pao chicken and sesame chicken for our entrees. The crab rangoons have a wonderful crispy wonton texture and balanced cream cheese filling that leans on the sweeter side without being too sweet. My main dish (Kung Pao chicken) featured a rich sauce coating that was slightly sweet and slightly savory, with a variety of subtle flavor notes and a pronounced kick of chili peppers at the end. The texture combo of marinated chicken and roasted peanuts paired very nicely with the soft, fluffy white rice served on the side. My desire to enjoy it again as a leftover this week was the only thing that kept me from eating the entire entree tonight. Corner 17 is worth the wait. Check it out if you're visiting STL or check it out again to explore more of their expansive menu - we definitely will.
Corner 17 is one of our family's favorite Chinese restaurant. It's typically very busy so I highly encourage joining the wait list. If you are waiting, you can order some Bubble Tea in their lobby area or you can wait and order at your table. We have tried their crab rangoon, chili wontons, chicken skewers, pork bao, gyoza, Black pepper chicken, Three cup chicken, Chicken stir-fried noodle, Hong Shao pork, and Deep fried garlic sauce pork rib. Our favorites of the apps are the chicken skewers and gyoza. My absolute favorite entree is the Black pepper chicken. I don't even like peppery foods but there is a mild sweetness to the dish that balances the pepper out. I have a hard time ordering any dish other than this one. My daughters' love the Three cup chicken and Hong Shao pork. My husband tried the deep fried ribs. He wanted a sauce on the side. He noticed another pork dish came with a sweet and spicy garlic sauce. They were kind enough to accommodate him with some of this sauce on the side. I know they are known for their noodles but the stir-fried noodles and crab rangoon were ok. They have a very extensive menu. Although we have our go to meals, I'm looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone to try new things in the future.
The food at Corner 17 is always delicious and fresh. Their bubble tea is one of the best in the STL.. The staff are always pleasant and provide prompt service. The lime accent color gives the restaurant a calm ambience. The big window looking into the kitchen is fun to watch them making the noodles by hand!
Every time I come, it is packed with people. Being able to join the waitlist through the Yelp app is great! Usually the wait is shorter than the time predicted, so I don't wander too far away. Fried Chicken Shumai (10) $7 - Tasty, crispy fried bag-like dumplings. Sichuan Spicy Fish Fillet $16 - My favorite dishes here, I literally order this every visit. The crunchy and spicy fish bites are additive. Dan Dan Noodles $13 - Delicious spicy chili sauce! Served with julienne carrot and cucumber. Other items I have tried: Original Steamed Dumplings - Delicate dumplings with savory filling. Crab Cheese Rangoon (5 Pieces) - The wonton wrapper tasted stale, but the filling was tasty. Stir-fry noodle with shrimp - Love that it comes with veggies and medium size shrimp. Can't go wrong with the hand pulled noodles. Walnut Shrimp - I haven't met walnut shrimp I didn't like. The glaze is creamy and sweet and is served with steamed broccoli. Veggie Hand-pulled - Low key/simple, comes with cabbage, broccoli and carrots. Sichuan Spicy Noodle - Similar to Dan-Dan Noodle, but comes with bok choy. Orange Chicken - Not the crispy kind, good sauce, and comes with broccoli. Taro Sago (drink) - So delicious! Love the jelly and tapioca pearls. Mango Fluffy Ice - Saw a picture of this on here and I had to try it. It looked giant when it came out on a plate and definitely big enough for 2 (or 4 people) to share. The texture is like shaved ice cream, melts in your mouth but not crunchy as shaved ice might imply. The sweet mango is fresh and delicious along with the popping boba. Decent Asian food. Grabbed the steamed bao and the wontons with the chilli oil. Found it a bit salty for my taste but overall not bad for the price. The milk tea was also decent. People on Reddit did a tournament with NCAA-style brackets to determine the best Chinese food restaurant in St. Louis, and Corner 17 came in first. Is there a higher honor that can possibly be bestowed upon a Chinese restaurant? Situated on a stretch of the U City Loop that's been negatively impacted by the Loop Trolley and construction of an apartment complex for Wash U people who are too good to live in the dorms, Corner 17 is not sweating it. At 4:30-ish on a Sunday afternoon, there was a 45-minute wait. Who even eats at that hour, the elderly? As I patiently waited on the sidewalk outside, roughly 10 or 15 people walked in, were told that there was--at that point--an hour and twenty minute wait--and were like, Eff that noise, Jack! This is St. Louis. People have things to do and people to meet. If necessary, they'll eat at El Maguey. Inside is decidedly casual and maybe a little bit cramped. if the chairs were more comfy, people might linger and the wait would be even longer. The area near the front door, where you order weird beverages and pick up delivery orders for your rideshare job, calls to mind the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Given the unique nature of the aforementioned beverages, you'd think the food menu might skew to the unfamiliar, but there wasn't anything that struck me as especially odd or potentially illegal. If you wanted to, you could treat this place as an elevated, inconvenient Panda Express. They carry Shrimp Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon, General Tso's Chicken, etc. In the interest of not overthinking things, I went with the Stir-Fried Noodles with Pork. I also had, as appetizers, the Beef Egg Rolls, the Fried Chicken Shumai and the Wontons with Chili Oil, and for my requisite unique beverage, the Matcha Red Bean Lava. I went all out. And keep in mind, this was a day that began with a Caramel Frappe, elsewhere--a rare two-frozen-beverage day for your boy. The Egg Rolls and the Shumai were just whatever. If another restaurant sold them, they'd be given an award by whatever remains of the local media, but this is Corner 17. The Wontons with Chili Oil were transcendent. Incredibly flavorful, with a tender and yet substantive wrapper coated in a thin layer of subtly flagrant oil. You wish they didn't slide down your throat so quickly, so you could savor them that much longer. No Diddy. Of the stir-fried noodles, the pork seemed like it might be the most flavorful. With all due respect to the Honorable Minister. There was also a Sichuan version, with a spicy sauce, that I seriously considered, but the photo of it made it seem like it might be more cabbage-forward than I required. The noodles immediately called to mind a lo mein lunch special I used to get at a place around the corner from my parents' house back in the mid '00s, one of my favorite things to eat at the time. Whereas that was processed and cloying, and yet deeply satisfying, this had a real refinement to it. The hand-pulled noodles, which I watched the guy pull while I waited (ayo!), were richly flavored and perfectly al dente. I felt like a bit of a savage, like someone who orders a well-done steak, twirling them around on my fork to the point where they'd hardly fit in my mouth and then stuffing my face with them, but it was worth. Oh, and the drink. "Red bean," in this case, was not figurative or symbolic. There were actual red beans in this, like you might get at a Popeyes. Whose idea was this? They were sweetened, and delicious, but inexplicable nonetheless. Otherwise, this wasn't altogether different from something you'd get at a Starbucks and post on social media to stunt on other members of the community. I've yet to eat at every Chinese food restaurant in the area, and I don't know that anyone should (with all due respect), but I don't have a problem believing that Corner 17 is the absolute best. I enjoyed everything that I got, and I'd be willing to wait even longer than I did, depending on what I had to do that day. read more
Grabbed lunch to go and was not disappointed, per usual! I've tried a few different things from the menu but I consistently get the shrimp or chicken stir fry noodle and a Thai boba tea. It was a relatively busy lunch time so I decided to take it to go. I gave 4 stars only because the interactions I've had with staff have been just ok. They're helpful and knowledgeable of the menu but there is room for improvement for friendliness. Aside from that, im glad I got to experience this place when there aren't so many people inside! Corner 17 is one of the most hyped/talked about chinese spots in all of stl and for good reason. Super solid bites on a bustling street. The loop is full of competition and corner 17 is certainly the big dog. Consistently seen with full tables, long lines, and empty plates. I got some take out and hit general tsos with some dumplings. The general tsos was great. Sweet, tangy, and a little kick. I asked for extra spicy and it had kick but certainly was pretty tame. The dumplings were juicy, and bursting with umami chicken. Super solid. Definitely a solid rotation spot. Make sure you get on the waitlist because it gets BUSY! read more
Although a very busy restaurant, the wait staff was polite explained the dishes and followed up well. We tried two dishes a pickled fish soup (sounds different but it was great) and garlic beef. The soup portion was huge. The wontons for an appetizer was great. The beef entree was our least favorite, it was a little sweet for me, but not terrible. The Thai tea was delish! Matcha was good, but the Thai tea was much better. The menu was huge, Will definitely be back to try other things. read more

While the wait was long, and food was worth it! Highly recommend getting on the waitlist in advance from their website, and get a boba tea while you wait! (Don't get the super fruit oolong tea, there's way too much fruit that you're left with all the boba at the bottom) We ordered the crab cheese rangoons ($7), bao trio ($12, pork, veg, and taro), pork stir fry w/ hand-pulled noodles ($14) and orange chicken ($15). The portions are great for eating family-style! It was fun to watch them make noodles and dumplings while waiting for our food. Our food was all great, though I wish the stir-fry had more meat and veg to go with the noodles. read more

I finally tried this spot after months of procrastinating! Now I wish I would've gone there sooner, because those noodles were sooooo good and the cooks make them fresh right before serving. One of the things that stood out to me, besides their amazing food, was their customer service. The servers there don't pester you a million times to ask how the food is, they pay attention to see when something is needed and they allow you to enjoy your meal without further interruptions. The restaurant is ALWAYS packed during dinner hours so if you decide to go during dinner it's best to join the wait-list on Google. read more

I absolutely love this place, one of my favorite Asian restaurants in STL! The service is always on point and the food somehow gets better every time. This is my go-to spot for introducing new people. Pro tip: check in on the app before you head over since there's almost always a wait. Don't walk, run and get yourself a delicious meal. read more
Finally got to try Corner 17! And when I say this place was poppin' it was POPPIN'. It took about 25 mins for them to prepare the online order. I felt a little overwhelmed by their menu because everything looked SO good but I went with the pork stir fry noodles. They were drool worthy. 5 stars!! read more

We went there around 8:45pm the day after Thanksgiving. It was still busy and packed and waiting time was 45 minutes. It did not take long but probably 30 minutes. Loved the noodles and the way they made it in front of you. We ate them all! Did not order other stuff but definitely come back for it! read more

Delicious as always. I finally had the chance to introduce my fiancé to this gem. We both got the stir fried noodles with hand shaved noodles and beef, which is my favorite item on the menu. We had a movie showing at the Esquire, and they were able to squeeze the two of us up higher on the list although it was a busy Friday night. Although it was crowded, the servers were attentive and quick. We love watching them make the noodles and dumplings! read more

Food was amazing. Drinks came out almost immediately which was great. We joined the waitlist so the wait wasn't too bad, however it was decently busy for a Wednesday night so our waitress was not around as often as we'd like. Overall though, very friendly staff and amazing food, we will definitely be coming back! read more

We waited forever, but it was a Sunday around noon so we understood. The waitress was great and answered any questions we had! We ordered a bunch of things to share, and everything was great. This is a STL gem - definitely go if you haven't yet! The hand-pulled noodles are fresh and delicious (can watch them make it from your table) and they have a super extensive menu that would take you a longggg time to get through if you wanted to try everything. The chili oil wontons are my favorite. Don't skip the bubble tea - I personally like the classics like a jasmine milk tea. read more

Corner 17 is a classic spot on the Delmar loop and is pretty reliable and consistent in their foods! I went recently with a friend for lunch and enjoyed our meal! Our server was very friendly and helpful, and the ambiance was super upbeat! I wanted to try their soup dumplings and thought they were decent - I wish they would do 8 in an order instead of 6 given the price, but still tasty. I really enjoyed my bubble tea and look forward to trying more from their menu! read more
Still a 5/5 for me. Always recommend this place as one of my faves in the loop! The mala Soup Bowl is my go to order. It's still very busy on weekends, so visit on the weeknight if you can, or join the online waiting list. My party of three joined the virtual waitlist at about 5:45 PM on a Friday night and got seated around 7:30-45 PM, so plan ahead! Always a busy spot to go so you might try and come on a slower week night. Food is always super fresh and you can watch the chefs making the food through a window. The drinks are also amazing. Great environment for large groups or a date night. You can also pop in for just a boba tea to go. read more

Tonu L. is correct. Corner17 does not take reservations. Their whole wait procedure is pretty efficient, though.

Hi Keenan Thanks for your question. We do use peanuts and walnuts in some of our dishes. So I am afraid that there is a risk of nut contamination in the cooking process.
