What a wonderful find! Modern and well decorated with friendly and attentive staff. The margaritas were perfect and the molcajete pot was amazing. Even the tortillas were delicious and served in a leather sleeve to keep them warm. Service was excellent and our food and drinks came out quickly. Stopped in for a casual dinner but also to check out this new spot. Ambiance is gorgeous, you can tell they really put some TLC into the place. I had the sopecitos for dinner which I loved. Everything tasted so fresh. My boyfriend had the fajitas with shrimp and steak. He loved them and the tortillas were a wonderful authentic treat to top. Margaritas were on special for $5 and so was the beer. I believe he said $4. The bartender was attentive with checking in on us. North Phoenix's best kept secret!! Just had dinner here on Sunday and will plan to be back as many times as possible. The food is delicious, truly authentic Mexican seasonings. Awful! The food had no flavor, "red chili" was some kind of misguided pasta sauce. Ambiance? Non existent. This place is a closet someone put some chairs and tables. I wish I could undo going here. My husband had a Cadillac margarita and a Prickly Pear (ordered it so I could try). Both were made very well. I usually don't order fajitas anywhere but today I thought I would try them. Everything was a lot more than expected right from our arrival and through the entire evening. Our server was also the greeter at the door. She couldn't stop smiling and her excitement about the restaurant and all of its dishes was welcoming and warm. I have to day that observing her with other customers gave us the impression that she was the real deal. The complimentary chips we had with salsa and guacamole as well as a sampling of the refried beans for dipping were a great start to the meal. Two of us wanted a special drink, not one the menu: No problem! The food tasted great - we had four different dishes and all were delicious (according to the guest! We didn't do any sharing because we basically inhaled and loved what we ordered. We ordered churros with ice cream and fruit which capped the evening off nicely. We're from out of town, but next time in Phoenix - every time for that matter - we'll be back. read more

The food was good with a nice bean dip for eh complimentary chips. Salsas were different and ok not my taste. The waiter indicated margaritas were 5 each so we chose them and they were delicious. Servers were super helpful and friendly and they were a 5. The entrees we chose were Flautas and three taxi choice. First of all, they serve bean dip along with the other two most amazing salsas I've ever had. So, that was a plus. We started with the guacamole and they don't skimp on the portion. My husband got the tacos al pastor. So good. I got the enchiladas verdes. Absolutely amazing and the portion is generous. I can't wait to try everything in the menu. My family was in town and we called and made a reservation for a party of 7. As usual, the hospitality was lovely. My brother (who is not a review/online person) got the mole negro and loved it. To me, it has a flavor with hints of molasses. My mom always loves the enchiladas. My dad and aunt got the chiles rellenos. Personally, I love a cheese chile relleno, but my family can't get enough of the beef chiles rellenos lol. I am having their leftovers for breakfast. I had aguachile- which tasted like what it is. It's not my favorite because even though the flavors are pure (I feel like there are no mystery ingredients), I prefer deeper flavors and textures, which are also easily found on the menu. You know people value their cooking when the rice and beans are good. And CDA never disappoints on their rice and beans. My only disappointment is that I asked the server (young kid) for boxes for "ALLL" the food, and he didn't really help me out on that point. It would have been tacky to keep asking, but I did feel bad that we allowed food to go back to the kitchen without finishing our plates. It's too good to waste.
