I had really high expectations of this place but it did not live up to the great reviews. I got an iced matcha latte and it tasted like straight up milk. Im a self proclaimed matcha connoisseur and Ive had a lot of different matcha lattes so Id like to think I know my matcha. This one unfortuantely was not good. A pretty newly opened cafe in the heart of Williamsburg, I visited on a Sunday afternoon to do some work and have a coffee and it was pretty busy inside. Did not get the chance this time to try any food, but the coffee was good and there was ample seating space that was good for getting some work done. There were a lot of other people doing work as well, but outlets are a little harder to come by. Wifi speed was good as well. Overall a good addition to the Williamsburg coffee shop scene, would definitely stop by again! read more

I just LOVE this cafe. Such a great ambiance with plenty of seats in backyard patio with newly added heaters. I always undecided between Oat Lavender Latte or Lavender Latte which usually ended up with 2 drinks :) the coffee is simply amazing and I get the best service from any of the Baristas here specially Brandon. They have plenty of different sandwiches and paninis which Grilled Cheese with a side of Avo is my favorite. Thay have yummy baked goods, their Almond Croissant is a must try ( if you can finish it yourself of course, it's huge) :) , love the Artichoke Goat Cheese Croissant as well specially they nicely offer to warm it up for you which make it even more tasty. Finally if you want to have a great smoothies you should try their Peanut Butter smoothie by adding a double shot of espresso ( Believe me you will come back for it). The service always promt and super friendly. So happy to have them in neighborhood go and give them a visit they definitely deserve our support. read more

As a black man with dreadlocks, I've been profiled and treated with a "What's your business here?", "Hurry up and buy something, or get out.", and much worse racist and classist types of attitudes throughout my life when entering a business. But I surely wasn't expecting anything like that as I walked into this little uppity Williamsburg cafe. I've seen the sign outside that says they had a backyard area and decided to meet with a friend there. I showed up a little early and went to the backyard to find a place to sit. I opened my computer and once I realized that there were no signs with the wifi password on it I went inside to ask for it. The person behind the register told me it was on the board and I said "Thank you." I turn around, place my headphones back on and begin to head back to my seat outside, and that's when it got weird. The other employee working behind the counter then asked "What can I get you?" I took off my headphones and I told the employee that "I was just getting the wifi password." and then the employee replied with "And I'm asking you what can I get you." in a more serious and potentially irritated manner. Thinking there could be a miscommunication, I said again, "Oh, no, I was just grabbing the wifi password right now." the employee replied again, with definite irritation, "And I'm asking you what can I get you." Slightly taken aback and starting to understand what the seemingly irritated employee was implying, I then asked "Do I have to order something before I can sit down?" to which the employee irritably replied, "That's usually what we do around here." I waited for a second then asked the question "Do I have to order something even when I'm waiting to meet someone?" the employee then began to try and change the subject and backtrack a little by saying "Oh, well, this is your first time here, huh?" I replied "Yes" to which they replied, "You can wait in the back for your friend, and then you both can come order." or something to that effect, again, still speaking in an irritated and rude manner. Being fed up with how I was being treated I decided to just leave. I calmly told the employee, "Don't worry about it." and turned to leave. The employee replies to me "No, you don't worry about it!" ( honestly this dude was either having a messed-up day/life or just didn't like me) I left the store and met at a different location. If this is this business's policy, there should definitely be a sign or something that expresses that "All orders must be made before you sit down and get the wifi password." But these signs don't exist because that's not the policy of any cafe. They most certainly wouldn't have scannable barcodes on the tables to order from your phone if the policy was "You must order before you sit or ask for the Wifi password." and yet, there were scannable barcodes that allow you to order from your phone on many of the outside tables. Regardless of the fact that not every person sitting in the back had a meal or coffee in front of them, and regardless of whether or not it is the businesses policy to press someone for their order before they find a seat or get a wifi password (it's not), this person pressing me was seemingly profiling me and definitely rude for no reason. Bruh was on a little power trip, I guess. I hope their day gets better. read more

This place has a wonderful ambience and is one of the very few places in North Wburg that has free wifi. The entire set up in the backyard is really lovely. I really want to like it because of the setup and location, but of the 3-4 times I've dined in, I left with a bad taste in my mouth the last two because of the service. The first time was about two months ago when I had come in around noon. The place was nearly empty. I ordered a coffee and a sandwich. On asking I was told that they would bring my order to my table outside. After 10 minutes of waiting, I was surprised that even my coffee wasn't ready. I went in to ask for it - the main guy seemed surprised that I hadn't gotten it (even though there were like 2 other people in the cafe so not hard to keep track of) and asked his assistant about it. She said it's on the counter. It was lying on the countertop in the corner and was cold. No apologies, nothing. Was I supposed to come pick it up? No idea. Once the food was brought to me, I asked for a glass of water. I was told to go in and fill it up myself. It just seems like their service is very specific and partial, and they don't communicate about it well. Either indicate that it's clearly self-service or clearly managed service. In the second incident, my laptop was out of charge and I was looking for sockets outside. I go inside and the personnel seems to be training another personnel. When they look at me, I ask the trainer whether there were sockets outside. He coldly and curtly says "excuse me for a second bro" and continues to do the training. He then suddenly look up 20 seconds later and say " no sockets outside" and puts his head back down. These incidents were small and I'm sure the staff mean well but they are certainly not very hospitable. There is a warmth and level of attention that is missing, that is not hard to find these days at any restaurant, coffee shop or even your local deli. Also, the food and coffee are incredibly overpriced and not great - basic ingredients, rudimentary preparation, very unsatisfying quantities. You can get much better at a deli for half the price. All this is a tragedy because the ambience is beautiful! read more
