I haven't ordered these cookies in a while. I remember these cookies looking and tasting so much better than they were for this last order. The store used to have cookies you could walk in and purchase and the store now is like a warehouse. Nothing to walk in and purchase, just boxes on the counter for packaging. 5/2/2020 Quarantine Day 47 I got these cookies from my friend who didn't want to eat all 12 cookies by himself. The cookies came in a nice, sturdy box. These are the flavors: 1. Millionaire 2. White chocolate macademia 3. Chocolate chip 4. Red velvet 5. Decadent chocolate 6. Oatmeal raisin There were two of each so lucky me, I got 6 cookies hehe. These cookies are all very, very delicious and soft! I'm generally not a fan of oatmeal raisin, but I tried it anyway and it was pretty good! I knew there were raisins in it, but I didn't taste it too much. The Millionaire cookie has milk chocolate, oats and nuts; super tasty. Honestly, I think this one was my favorite out of all of them because it was different. If I had to rank top to least favorite, this is what I pick: -Millionaire -Chocolate chip -Decadent chocolate -White chocolate -Oatmeal raisin -Red velvet But overall, lovely yummy cookies! Okay, I am trying to calm myself down before I write this review, I don't want to sound too harsh but I am really disappointed. I called on Monday to inquire about a Harry Potter themed cookie basket for my cousin's birthday, they told me it was possible and to send them some pictures. I sent six pictures: Harry, Harry's wand, Gryffindor's sword, Gryffindor's shield, Gryffindor tie, and a Golden Snitch. I picked up the basket on Saturday afternoon and it's not what I expected. The cashier told me she was not familiar with Harry Potter and had not seen any of the movies. I was thinking, "the Harry Potter franchise has made over $5 billion dollars, you might not have seen any of the movies but for a decade the posters have been EVERYWHERE! And if somebody is going to pay that much for a basket of cookies, the least you can do is some Internet research on how it should look." Only 2 out of 6 cookies, were worth the price. -Cookie#1: Harry Potter cookie-The cookie looked more like a bear than a human. I think they should have cut off the bear ears before baking it. Plus the cookie was missing the scar across Harry's forehead. The robes on the cookie were mostly black and included no red color. -Cookie#2: Harry's wand-The wand looked accurate and was brown and outlined in black, which made it stand out. But did they have to color in the background "blue," every picture I sent included red and yellow/gold colors? -Cookie#3: Gryffindor's sword-The sword was the correct length based on the picture but just like background for the wand cookie, "what's with the blue?" -Cookie#4: Gryffindor's shield-When I saw this cookie, I didn't know what it was but when I stepped back I could see the lion. I wish the lion had been outlined in black because up-close it looks like an outline of Italy. -Cookie#5: Gryffindor tie-TOTAL FAIL!!! The tie was purple, yellow, and black. The picture I sent was a red and gold Gryffindor tie. Why would someone change the colors or not at least check for the correct ones? Come-on, if they had to ask for pictures, they should follow the picture. -Cookie#6: Golden Snitch-It was plain. They frosted the sugar cookie with yellow icing and a yellow icing on an off-white cookie doesn't stand out. I wish they would have outlined the snitch in a black or filled in the background to make it stand out. I just hope my little cousin is okay with this basket, he may be 6 yrs old but like me, he pays attention to the details and notices the little things. It just goes to show you, now-a-days you have to explain EVERYTHING, every little detail or else it won't turn out right. I definitely will not be ordering anymore cookies from this place. I love the end product I get from CBD. I have ordered from this shop for a number of years and I have never been unhappy with the outcome. The cookies look great and they taste delicious. The reason I had to give a 3/5 was because of the customer service. I called Friday afternoon and spoke to a short tempered woman who did not want to talk about options (I didn't know exactly what I wanted) and told me to go on line and give her a product number. So I did and I ordered 7 cookies on a stick. I also had a coupon that was for 15% off. The woman did not want to accept my coupon claiming that is was for online orders. The coupon did not say that. She did honor the 15% after she checked with somebody. A bit frustrating but good on them for honoring the deal. When I went in today, Saturday, to get my order the woman who gave me my order was just as unpleasant. She told me that I was lucky to get to use the coupon and she would not have honored it. She did not seem like she wanted to be in the shop and wanted nothing to do with customers. If I didn't enjoy the cookies so much I would not return. read more

Oh my goodness! These cookies are delicious. Soooo sooooo yummy. This is my first time ordering from this place and I couldn't be happier. I don't know who placed my order (I apologize) it was a quick last min decision. I was having few of my daughters friends over for her birthday and I didn't have goodie bags ready so I figured I'd order some cookies for them to take home . I knew what I wanted. The lady offered to have them on a stick or in a bouquet but I just wanted them wrapped . I asked for 4 unicorn head, 3 number 4 on it and 3 with my daughters initial , total of 10 cookies . They were beautiful, wrapped and tied with some colorful ribbon. So so cute. Didn't want to give them away. (Lol) $8 a pc and I would say they were worth every penny (I did save one for my self) I can't wait to order again. Thank you for making my cookies on such a short notice. Not so long ago, I passed by this store while I was at the scrapbook store next door. I looked in the window, and saw all of the adorable cookie designs. I decided to order a cookie bouquet for my husband sinceI thought how unique that would be and he loves cookies. I ordered my expensive cookie bouquet, but I was glad to pay Gave the bouquet to hubby, he liked it a lot. Sadly the cookies tasted like CRUD! They were the most adorable TASTELESS, ICKY cookies ever. Do not waste your money here!! I am sure that there is a bakery out there that could put together some wonderful unique pastry/cookie gift for possibly less with much more taste! As I said though, for the uniqueness, I would not have minded paying they price for these items (it was about $50 for a 7 cookie bouquet) if the cookies had tasted good. As long as you don't set your expectations too high you may be somewhat pleased with the end result. Don't expect your cookies to look as good as they do on the website, but not as bad as the examples that are displayed at the store (I'll get back to this later!). I think 3 stars is in order. I ordered a cookie bouquet for my friend's b-day. I wanted a mix of their regular design cookies and then some special items. I left them pictures of what I wanted knowing that it wasn't going to be exact, but hoping it would be somewhat close. I went into the store right before Easter and the holiday cookies that I saw there were skillfully done which gave me hope. However, when I placed my order the girl was a little dismissive when I was showing her the pictures of what I wanted and asked her what the cookie designer was capable of doing. She made it seem like the cookie decorator was just going to do her own thing and may or may not follow my instructions. I was getting very nervous needless to say. Basically if you stick to the "stock" design cookies that they produce regularly I think you will be very satisfied. If you ask them to go out on a limb and be creative (which I kinda thought was the whole idea here) you may end up a little disappointed. It would've helped if they were more forthcoming about what they can and cannot do when you place your order, especially when I showed up there in person with pictures in hand. The script on my "custom" cookies were off center and squeezed in. The script was in the wrong place altogether on one of the cookies because the girl didn't write it down when I was telling her. I think they could have done a better job on some of them but instead of starting over when they make a mistake they just try to make it work. Not sure if that's laziness, being cheap or just lack of skill. So my friend ended up with several "close enough" cookies. Although he definitely appreciated my thoughtfulness which is what really matters in the end. Don't be too put off by the sample cookies they have on display. They look old and faded. I'm not sure why they don't replace these. They look terrible and make you think the franchise owner doesn't care about the business. Not good marketing! I was worried that they were going to forget about my order since I placed it over a week in advance, but they did not. It was also delivered on the correct day and earlier in the day as they said, although it was not guaranteed. Customer service wasn't the worst. Over the phone they always gave clear, concise information. They just weren't over the top polite or friendly in their delivery. In-store I dealt with two different women. The older one was definitely more helpful. She is the one who helped with some ideas for designs. The younger one is the one who took my order; not as helpful. When I reviewed my order slip I felt like it was a bit incomplete considering the detail I was giving her about what I wanted. All in all it didn't come out exactly how I envisioned, but in the end it worked out and was delivered on time. From looking at the national website, I get the impression that this particular franchise doesn't offer a lot of the products that they show on the website...Big frown... This franchise could definitely benefit from sending the cookie decorator to a class or two I think. I might use them again as long as I didn't want anything unique. She specified Saturday delivery, since her birthday was on Sunday. Friday, they called and said there was a problem with the order. I found out that they had our billing address wrong. Mary called and sent an email to explain that Fed ex was badly overwhelmed and running way behind schedule and that I should choose hand delivery. I wasn't able to respond right away and Mary knew the cookies would be best if delivered right away. She decided she would rather take the loss and pay out of her pocket for hand delivery than have them delivered late. That's the way a business should be run! I called over the weekend to let Cookies by Design know that their cookies were not up to par and If I was a paying customer I would be upset that these were sent to someone. I received a call back on Monday from Mary. Bottom line she offered for me to come to them...Are you kidding me! To get a few cookies out of the case. What awful customer service. One star is being generous. This place has the worst customer service I have ever encountered in a retail establishment. I ordered a basket to be delivered as a surprise and found it never arrived. I contacted the store and they acted very put out that I was even asking them to find out what happened. Eventually I received an email stating the basket must have been stolen. Not only that they said "it's not our fault someone decided to steal it". So somehow they believe it is my problem that I paid $100 for a basket that never arrived. When I emailed back asking them to make it right they refused. They also contacted the recipient without asking me first which completely ruined the chance of a surprise. I ordered and picked up some decorated sugar cookies for my company's client birthday program. We wanted to test them out before we start ordering them. I also bought a few of the cookies in the bakery case for "personal research". The decorated cookies were decorated very nicely. They had wrapped each individually and tied them with curly ribbon. The cookies were delicious! They were thick and soft and had a fair amount of frosting on them. I would definitely buy them for friends and family and personal clients.
