The store is bright, vibrant, and has a fun hip hop vibe that makes it stand out from your typical dessert shop. The concept is cool, you can build your own cookie pack by mixing and matching flavors or just grab a single cookie if you're craving something sweet. All of the cookies have creative and fun names. I decided on the Pink Elephant, which is a strawberry cheesecake cookie. The cookie itself is pretty big, so I only had a couple bites when I got home, but it was really tasty. After discovering Cookie Plug some time ago due to the criticisms it received; it became a must visit for me because it was something fun and unique, plus I love cookies! I then began bookmarking locations in the places I typically travel to since I would likely not ever visit any of the locations in California which is where the franchise is based. I found this location after searching the yelp mobile application for the nearest one within a radius of the city of Indianapolis prior to visiting. I felt as though I was in cookie heaven upon entering because there were so many options to choose from. I took my time looking at the display of cookies because I had not ever visited a Cookie Plug location, let alone did my research beforehand. The employee was very patient with me and when I was ready, she took my order once I decided on what I wanted. Originally, I wanted to order the bump sack (4 cookies), but I figured that my sister had not ever visited Cookie Plug, so I went with the smash sack (12 fun size cookies) figuring that I would give her 6 of the fun sized cookies out of the 12 presented. And in order to make my visit to Cookie Plug worthwhile, I ordered their purple drank inside of the baby bottle rather than a cup in order for a legit experience, tehehe. I must say that out of the cookies I did not give out to my sister or mother, the snooper doodle (snickerdoodle) was my favorite. After heating it up inside of my microwave, it had the loveliest smell that loomed inside of my microwave, even minutes after eating it. It was a chewy delicious cookie seasoned with cinnamon. Yum! The pink elephant (strawberry cheesecake) was actually the first of the cookies I tried, splitting half of it with my sister. It is my second favorite after the snooper doodle (snickerdoodle). Least favorites, but still very good cookies were the purple haze (purple velvet), and the nutty og (chocolate chip walnut). Excited for Mass Ave to have a cookie spot! Loved the theme and colors and music and flavor names! The cashier was really nice and patient with us as we picked what all we wanted to try. We got the pack of minis to try and the red velvet Oreo. The red velvet Oreo in my opinion is the best one! I ordered the strawberry cheesecake, purple velvet, red velvet, and firecracker and was pretty much let down. The cookies were extremely greasy (like extremelyyyyyy greasy I ended up putting an oil absorbing wipe to one of them and it was soaked). The cookies literally tasted the same. This is a review strictly on the food, not taking into account the drama that has surrounded cookie plug. I stopped in prior to knowing about it all and still feel I would not go back solely based on the cookies. They have a ton of flavor options including keto. Because of so many options we had a hard time deciding, however they offer a way to sample all their main cookies in smaller form. For $12 you get all 12 cookies to try. Now unfortunately I think because these were all so small they got too crispy and didn't have a soft gooey center that I would at least hope the regular sized cookies would have. The flavors however were also wayy too similar. There were many times when trying them we really couldn't tell what cookie we were tasting. I assumed the bottle was like a souvenir cup. No! It's a literal baby bottle where the hole is cut for 0-3 month olds. It's embarrassing and it takes 1-3 minutes to suck enough out for one drink. The cookies all tasted similar. Underbaked and mid. There was no flavor that made me think "I'd like a second bite of that". Flavors are all super mild and similar. Don't waste your time buying more than one when you can buy a single cookie and experience all the options. Overall I give this cookie place a 1/5 stars. This really could have been a great place if it wasn't so offensive to many people. The drug culture mimicking cookie flavors and drinks, the bashing of other cookie businesses (local and franchises such as crumbl). It's just so unnecessary. Why not cookie flavors after popular hip hop songs or artist, or east coast hip Hop vs west coast hip hop and creative cookie combinations that would go with that? The person working in the store was very nice. Working alone as she said "everybody called out sick I guess." I bet everybody quit because of all the nonsense. Her service was 5/5. She was very nice and I notice she did not refer to the product names by the "drug names" but rather the alternative name...for example she said purple velvet instead of purple haze. This was likely because I had my kids with me and I did appreciate that. The store is very tiny like imagine an apartment galley kitchen. Service was...as expected from a place called cookie plug. The guy seemed high and didn't know how to add the deals that were advertised. He could've been new but it definitely was not a good look. He also tried to charge me twice after realizing he forgot to add the deal only to realize he did add the deal..hence why I know he was high at work. He couldn't even hear me because of the loud music playing and didn't think to turn it down. The cookies themselves were hard as heck like they'd been sitting for days. Not impressed.
