2 Crab cakes with 1 elk slider and truffle fries
    Alice-Anne A.

Wanted to try for some time and was excited to have their mobile truck come to our neighborhood especially with restaurant dining closed due to pandemic. Ordering was easy to manage online and pay. Then we were given a time frame window of when our order would be ready for pickup. Cuban was by far my favorite. I'm not a fan of crab cakes but tried a bite of my husband's and was pleasantly surprised. Crab cakes, fries and burgers were also good. Kids split the kids meal cheeseburger that cake with two sliders. Everyone really enjoyed their dinner and we look forward to hopefully having the food truck visit the neighborhood again! Thank you!

The Crab cakes and truffle fries were worth standing in the cold and rain. Delicious!!!

Serendipity was at the Speedway's Food Truck Fridays at Daredevil Brewery. This was our first Food Truck Friday's at Daredevil Brewery. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate at 44 degrees and rain. However, I really wanted to try the crab cakes and truffle fries so we ignored the weather. All the positive reviews are not wrong! The crab cakes and truffle fries were phenomenal! The crab cakes had very little filler, cooked perfectly and delicious! The truffle fries were also amazing!! I loved the crispy fries and the unique flavor. Not only was the food excellent but the presentation was gorgeous. Not what I expected from a food truck. The owners were super friendly, appreciated I'd seen them on Indy Style and reassured me I'd love my order. I wish they had a storefront. We were lucky enough to take our meals into the Daredevil Brewery to escape the brutal outdoor elements. Their my husband had the Daredevil Octoberfest beer. I look forward to Food Truck Friday returning to Daredevils once Spring returns.

    Meatloaf minis w truffle fries

We were at Triton Brewery and they had a number of food trucks so we were excited to try. I have to say that Serendipity was my least favorite. We had the Meatloaf Minis ($10) with a side of fries and upgraded to Truffle fries for a dollar. The fries were really soggy and the Meatloaf minis lacked seasoning. A friend ordered the gumbo/stew and it smelled lovely with a side of mac and cheese and a salad. He seemed content. Food: 2/5 Service: 3/5

I am OBSESSED with their "Midwest" grilled cheese. It's super grown up in the most delicious way. It's different every time, because they craft the recipe based on what sort of stuff is in season. This week, my grilled cheese had peaches and gouda on it! It was a drool-worthy combination. If you're going to get fries (and you should), make sure you spend the extra $1 to "truffle up" those potatoes! Truffle fries are like crack. You'll be addicted from the first bite and beg for more. Oh, and there's "always money in the banana stand." Check out their cool tip jar, which is decorated to look like the banana stand from Arrested Development. I don't often tip at food trucks, but that little banana stand is just too darn cute! It always earns at least a buck from my wallet. They deserve it. The service is friendly and as fast as possible given the culinary creations they are making ON A TRUCK! Um, some other awesome things...love the cuban sandwich, love the elk burger sliders, and the mini crab cakes are insanely good. I've never tried the tacos, but I'm sure they're awesome as well.

the NorthEast - crab cake minis
    Ken N.

At a local gathering of food trucks this morning, I split an order from Serendipity Mobile Catering with a friend. She ordered the "NorthEast" which is two crab cake minis with roma tomato, red onion, romaine lettuce, and topped with a roasted red pepper aioli on toasted gonella buns. The sandwich should have been called a "slider" because there was enough aioli to cause the ingredients to slide to the side while being carried to our seats. All kidding aside, the flavors worked really well together. The crab cake was moist, though I have had some elsewhere that the crab was more prominent in flavor. Still, because the flavors balanced so well, I found the sandwich quite tasty! Review #85

Most street trucks I've ate at have been excellent. Probably mostly because I only eat them at events specifically for them. This is, however, my first time trying an Elk Burger. And it did NOT disappoint! I didn't even need to add anything like ketchup as it was well flavored with crushed tomatoes. Their Truffle Fries were delicious and my wife loved the Crab Cake Mini's!

I loved my split order of one elk burger and 1 chicken molé taco with a side of fries rather than the rice and beans.

They offer burgers, mac & cheese, sausages, nachos, sandwiches, and of course some exotic hot dog. This is one of the most colorful trucks and you cannot miss it. Even though my interaction with them was very limited, the staff was nice enough. I ordered a jumbo Carolina Slaw Dog with a side of BBQ baked beans. The sides are already prepared and pre-packed, so my wait was not long. It took them less than 5 minutes to have my food ready. The beans were cold, but they did offer to heat them for me. I was heading straight home so I opted to just heat them up when I got there. My dog's bread was soggy, as expected. I am just throwing that out there for those people that soggy bread matters to. It was a delicious dog though and I really liked it. The beans were also pretty good and I enjoyed them as well. I highly recommend fining out where this truck is going to be and checking them out. He greeted us warmly, asked us if we liked meat, then immediately gave us samples of each! I was wooed. He was a smooth talker. The lamb is succulent and my favorite. The chicken was great, but steer clear if you're not a fan of the flavor that comes with charring. The kafta was my second favorite meat. They were beef meatballs with Moroccan‐seasoned BBQ rub spices. Even though the meat was amazing, I settled on a lighter dish: the spinach & feta sandwich. Each sandwich is a pita wrap with diced tomatoes and onions. You can get the Harissa sauce in the sandwich or on the side. It's a mild level of spicy. It lingers on your palate for awhile after you're finished--a satisfying feeling. The truck also serves plates with the same meats--all plates are gluten free too. The sides for each plate are saffron rice and Moroccan green beans. There's even baklava for desert.

Overall, not terrible but I was expecting more for the price. Shawarma was not very big. Chicken was ~4 large pieces. Not broken down at all. Smaller chunks would make it much easier to eat and would be more like every other shawarma I ever had. Flavor was decent. People who don't like spicy probably should omit the red sauce. Everyone has different tolerances for that. Don't think it is a traditional sauce and more like Frank's red hot or similar anyway. Hummus size was not terrible for $5. But, I have gotten a larger container of very good fresh made for less elsewhere. The hummus itself was not bad but again I expected more for the price. Just a few small pieces of tomato dropped in it. No oil or spices or anything on top like I'm used to for this price. The "warm pita" that comes with it was not warm at all and kinda stale. Hard and chewy. Not enough to go with the size of hummus either.

The staff is kind and efficient, the food hits the spot and then some, and it doesn't blow the budget. I'd say these are some of if not the best traditional tacos in Indy, along with deliciously authentic tamales and jam packed burritos. I've tried most of the menu here at this point and will vouch for it all. My humble recommendations include supreme shrimp tacos, pastor, chorizo, and asada tacos- the last few with just onions and cilantro. Their pastor makes me doubt reality it's so ridiculously good. I'd also suggest the pork tamales, house pineapple drink, and platanos fritos- fried plantains with a sweet and milky cream cheese topping. And definitely grab some extra homemade salsa. I've turned countless people onto this taco truck and it's become a weekly ritual for coworkers and friends alike. Open late, pretty LED lights and an atmosphere united by an appreciation for good food, it's a can't miss in Indy. Take my word for it, I'll never steer you wrong.
