If I could leave a rating below 1 I would. This is my second time eating at Cook Out, I was hoping my second visit would have been better than the first, but no it wasn't, sorry to say. I ordered a double burger with onion rings and slaw through the drive through. The order came fast but without a fork or spoon to eat the slaw, the lettuce on the burger was so wilted it was like rubber, and there were only 4 onion rings, cold and hard. The meal with the extra small burger, plain, (ordered for my dog) came to $8 and change. Pretty expensive I think for such a mediocre meal. I came through the second drive thru window around 10:30pm tonight and the cashier Quincy was very rude. I tried ordering and she was very aggressive towards my husband. At the window she basically threw his change and food at him. He had asked for sauces and she slammed the window and took an order before even acknowledging us. Food is as good (if not better) than what you'd find at a large fast food chain. You also get a TON of food for the price you pay. Service is always good and the food comes out quick. The ambiance of crosses on the wall and christian music playing over the speaker can be a off-putting but a good Cheerwine float serves as a nice distraction. read more

I do not understand why people love this place. Most of the food is bad and their menu is almost unreadable. IF you go through the drive through expect to shout your order multiple times because they don't use headsets. you get a lot of food for the price, but what does that tell you about the quality of the food? Okay, so I don't write a lot of reviews. I have to feel really strongly for something or against it in order for me to be compelled to write a review. I am very much a fan of The Cook Out in Murfreesboro. First of all, it's clean, very economical and the food is good....that's 3 out of 3. Secondly, I can't believe the amount of food you get for the price and it's GOOD. Did I mention it's good? The service was quick and everyone was very nice. I was there during lunch and witnessed a steady stream of people coming in and they moving at a fast pace. You don't wait long in the joint!!! Way to go The Cook Out. Asked for a new corn dog because the one they gave me was burnt and black on the ends. They either didn't replace it or gave me another burnt corn dog because it looked exactly the same. Fast, super cheap, and greasy goodness! The cookout is definitely the best fast food deal in town. Where else can you get a quesadilla or hot dog as a SIDE!? Visited this place around Halloween. The food was quite good, especially for the price. For about 6 bucks including tax I got a cheese burger, chicken quesadilla, a ton of fries and a root beer float (mine was with coke). You read that right this place is affordable for even broke college kids. The burger was pretty decent, far better than the best of burger king or McDonalds, and still slightly better than what you would get at a smash burger joint. But it was inferior to a good steak restaurants burger. But for 6 bucks only a fool would expect that. The rest of the items were also above average in my opinion and I now know where I'll be grabbing my post study session fuel from. Food is very inexpensive. Portions are small though. I ordered the Bbq pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and onion rings. I got 4 onion rings. Food comes out quick and everything is served in Styrofoam to go containers. I thought the sandwich was okay not great. The onion rings were delicious just wish I had more. Quite disappointed after reading the reviews, not sure what the hype is about. I would say expect nothing more than an average fast food experience. I had the cookout tray with a regular burger, coleslaw and fries as my two sides, and a shake. The meat was okay but the bun lacked taste, the fries were bland and the finely cut slaw a tiny white styrofoam cup wasn't that good. This place is awesome. Their food is very good and very reasonably priced. I wish there was a location by Cason on the other side of Murfreesboro rather than all the way across town. The staff is always fully staffed and very friendly. I like the assortment of drinks they have as well. I have been to the location in Smyrna and Murfreesboro and have had the same good experience at both places. So if you haven't tried it yet I would advise to try it and see for yourself. read more

Before today, I had been going to cookout every day for the last two months. I ordered the same meal every day. A reg hamburger with no tomatoes, no onions, and with bacon. I go through the drive through and obtain my awaited meal. When I arrive home, I open the box to find a burger with just tomatoes and onions..... Drove back and explained to then what happened and they laughed. They made me another burger and apologized. I threw it in the trash and walked out. I understand being a fast food employee is very difficult. God help me if I had to press buttons with pictures on it. Their employees are idiots. Take my business to taco bell. The food is good and the prices are great. The value trays are the best option if you're looking for a good deal. With that you can get an entree, two sides, and a drink. The food is hot and fast. It's not gourmet but it's about as good as any other fast food burger place. I like to take the kids here because we can all get lots of food for a reasonable price. I tried this Cook Out for the first time. I even mentioned this when i placed my order. $12.79 for a Burger, onion rings, and large soda also I ordered a chicken Quesadilla. This was a togo order. I was told my order was up. I grabbed it and left. NO CHICKEN Quesidilla's. The burger is nothing to write home about. Onion rings are so so.. There is no phone number listed to call. I called corporate and you leave a message about your experience. I usually do not leave reviews but with the EMO's at the counter are priceless. I felt the need to in this case. Not busy at all. On our first visit ,we liked the look of the outside and the inside was nicely done. It appeared clean, and there was someone sweeping or cleaning tables or picking up trash the whole visit, and had a good smell. Got to the cash register and ordered. I saw BBQ sandwich and jumped on it as I always love a good pulled pork and onion rings and ofcourse I had to got the cheerwine float. My wife got burger and fries. We got our order amazingly fast and sat down at a freshly cleaned table , very original decor by the way, and opened our trays. I was disappointed that I only got 4 small ring, I asked they said thats an order, and then I opened my BBQ SANDWICH bit in to it and got an unpleasant surprise. It had no BBQ sauce no vinegar sauce it had freaking TEXAS PETE HOT SAUCE. To me that's a pork sandwich with hot sauce not a "BBQ sandwich". I asked about it and they said thats the way it's made. I talked to a manager and suggested they at least put some kind of notification that there is hot sauce on the thing. That was 3 weeks ago been back twice and still no way to know about the hot sauce. So I am attempting to contact the owners about it. By the by the grilled chicken is really bad as well it seems the only thing that is really good is the burgers. P's the management and the one cashier, I did point her out to the manager, where very friendly and showed very good Customer Service.
