The wireless service is through the same towers as ATT, but for about half the cost. That cost differential comes up in their customer service. My blood pressure always rises when I call their customer service team. I don't want to bore the reader with too many details, but when I tried calling for confirmation of some details I was told to enter my 4- or 6-digit security code. I was flummoxed; I hadn't set a security code. Trying the usual codes I use, I was greeted with a system response that they couldn't find that code and to try again. After the 3rd or 4th iteration their VRU (voice response unit) finally told me I could say "I don't know it", which I did. When I finally got in and connected, their customer service agent said now we're going to set up a security code. I was annoyed that they modified their processes to require a security code without telling their customers. How hard would it have been to include a note in our bills that this change was coming and to be prepared the next time we called customer service? Doesn't anyone think about how these changes will affect their customers before those changes are implemented? If you never have to call their customer service team, you might be satisfied with their service.

The savings (I just discovered) is $1.00 a month. AARP is $16.00 a year. NO savings at all! 2) I just bought a new phone and a screen protector. The screen protector I received is flawed. They do not do refunds for those. I paid $21.00 for it - thinking they would have a higher quality product. I was wrong. Do not purchase this unless you go to astore and have them put it on before you purchase it and see that it works. I will not be giving them a good review going forward. I'm very disappointed. Shame on you Consumer Cellular.

Their prices are extremely reasonable and they're not trying to take advantage of their customers. There's no hidden charges or sneaky small print. I tell everyone I know to get their service from CC. I have never had such a consistently wonderful experience with a cell service provider. They give me hope for the way that businesses can operate, putting customer needs first. Couldn't recommend them more highly.

When I contacted Consumer Cellular and was connected to a support administrator, I experienced an unusually kind and effective offer of support that worked best in person due to the complexity of the challenges. I met with professional support staff in Tigard, OR who displayed patience and flexibility, and were able to work through minor but understandable communication challenges when needed. That was extremely helpful as I had become generally frazzled the previous few days by my former phone provider's, obstacles. I was also glad I had cleared my entire morning of meeting obligations. The two store folks were amazingly adept at keeping all customers served without any prolonged delays. Customers came in steadily, but the service professionals rotated among them very well. I do have to say that I am positive I would not have been able to manage the patience and time expenditure for these services either over the phone or via the website. Several times I saw challenges that temporarily puzzled even the store personnel and required that they use special strategies to solve the issues, and there would have been no way for me to have sorted through those unique challenges at home by phone or chat, let alone the extra communications that would have been necessary. But I emerged with phone service activated and effective. Much appreciated.

I had come into the store for another reason. Joseph went over the Launch promotion, explaining the value of taking advantage of this promotion of $1000 off when upgrading from my iPhone 14 to the iPhone 16 during this lunch. I skied him to sketch out the comparison of the new iPhone 16 compared to staying with my iPhone 14, since getting a phone upgrade, was not the reason I came into the store. He answered all my questions and drew out things for me to see on paper. Joesph showed me why it was advantageous to take advantage of the Launch promo. He ended up signing me up for this Launch promo for the iPhone 16. He even gave me his business card, to call him, for when I get my new phone in the mail, so that i could bring it in, to get my iPhone 14 data ported to the new iPhone 16. Then of course, he worked with me to get my original purpose for the visit handled. I wanted my LAN Line phone # transferred to my AT&T account. Joseph showed me that I could add it to my existing iPhone line, as a second phone# on the same phone. He set it up for me, and showed me how to use it. I am very happy with their service that I get, whenever I visit the AT&T Store at Bridgeport Village. The employees here seem to be much better than any of the other AT&T stores in the region that have visited.

No matter the location, they're never easy to access. The stores are always jam packed full. And there's not a single staff member that is easy to get a hold of. They're either non-existent, busy talking to other customers, or chatting with each other. Or you finally speak to an employee but they add you to a waitlist or have to find someone else to help you. Theoretically you can book an appointment, but what's the point of having an open store if everything needs an appointment? You can't just pick up a product and go buy it at a cashier. I think their stores were very innovative when they first opened, but they haven't scaled with the popularity of the iPhone. Instead of buying at Apple, I'm planning to go to Costco or Best Buy for a slightly better purchasing experience.
