I've become WAY too familiar with the genius bar. I'm surprised I don't know employees names yet. I'm well knownnfor cracking my glass. Two screen replacements but this took the cake. I had my phone sitting on the wall upstairs and it was knocked off and took quite a spill. It likely did more than the "military grade drop test" that most cases boast protecting. This time I full on destroyed the screen. And having a job now that wasn't okay. I needed to get this fixed ASAP. I was really worried because despite having Apple Care + I thought this is a several hundred dollar repair. But it was a $0 repair. $0. YES!!! Winner winner apple dinner. Glad I invested in that especially since I'm a hot mess and constantly breaking my glass. Well at least I invested in some better cases and I'm TRYING to be more careful. So hopefully I won't be back anytime soon. read more

I'm an Apple user. My phone, laptop, tablet, watch, and headphones are all Apple products. That said, I hate the experience of shopping at Apple. No matter the location, they're never easy to access. The stores are always jam packed full. And there's not a single staff member that is easy to get a hold of. They're either non-existent, busy talking to other customers, or chatting with each other. Or you finally speak to an employee but they add you to a waitlist or have to find someone else to help you. Theoretically you can book an appointment, but what's the point of having an open store if everything needs an appointment? You can't just pick up a product and go buy it at a cashier. I think their stores were very innovative when they first opened, but they haven't scaled with the popularity of the iPhone. Instead of buying at Apple, I'm planning to go to Costco or Best Buy for a slightly better purchasing experience. read more

This Apple Store is always packed, but the staff really make it worth the visit. I bought a new MacBook Air with Martin--he was super helpful, funny, and made the whole process easy. The next day, I brought in my old MacBook to erase the data, and that's when I met Jenna. She was amazing! Even though I wasn't buying anything, she treated me like a valued customer. Jenna helped me erase the data, made sure everything was taken care of, and truly went above and beyond. She even helped remove the case and offered to clean it. She was kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Jenna made me feel so welcomed--it turned a simple visit into the best experience I've ever had at an Apple Store. Big 5 stars because of her!! read more

My phone wasn't holding a charge and needed a new battery. I made an appointment at our closest store (25 miles away) for the following day. I show up for my appointment (they won't check you in until 5 minutes before) so we wait to be checked in. Once I'm checked in a guy comes and takes my phone to have a new battery installed and tells me it's going to be about 4 hours!!!!!!! I was in shock, I had no idea I had to wait 4 hours for a battery to be installed. We had no choice since we drove so far. So we literally walked around the mall for hours (did I mention I LOATHE the mall and I had my autistic son me that had to keep entertained). My biggest problem is no place did it mention I would have to leave my phone for a battery, if I'd known I could have planned better (also left the dog alone in the house thinking we'd be back within two hours max). Even trying to pick up my phone was an issue, literally talked to 4 different employees before finally getting my phone back. How can a company as big as Apple be so disorganized and hard to deal with? I will pay more and go to a third party vendor in the future, NEVER AGAIN will I go to an Apple Store! I'm giving 2 stars cause they did put a new battery in (eventually). read more

10 years later not the same experience for certain. Having 15 plus years new Apple high end phones with Apple care plus doesn't mean much if you happen to have an intermittent issue that deeply affects you. Might as well have been a new customer buying entry level with NO history as zero trust in what you are saying after covering in deep detail and your long history is fully on your account. You are left to go back home after wasting 3 hours in travel and call time plus having to get a reservation for this opportunity to solve. Then you end up having to call Apple and arrange for an exchange that takes 3-5 days plus you have to be home to sign vs simply taking care of the screen in the spot. Which would also cost less for Apple vs a new phone. Reality is my phone won't work that long and deeply impacted and the extensive documented history was met with, "intermittent issues" hard to prove. We can't do anything. Your only option is to call Apple or if happens come with dead phone and wait hours as no appointment. The manager (not the rep was condescending as well). I Won't be purchasing there or recommending in future, which was clear means nothing to them. If you have an intermittent issue, don't go there expecting any help, "it's hard to prove". read more

I had a bad experience with an employee, Man I wish I had her name but, I went to get an IPad, was just slightly unsure on which one to get .. and she left my wife and I for 30 minutes or more, she floated to maybe 2 other customers than chatted with her coworkers while pretending that she couldn't help us in our earlier interaction. If you know, in the Apple Store you have Genius Bar, greeters, and CSR. She pretended to just only be able to greet people... yet ended up getting me the iPad anyway. I kept getting a never ending loop to make an appointment here and it would only show me one available time. There's no phone number to call to ask questions, so I drove in. I needed an iPhone battery replacement and they were too busy to fit me in that day. Had I been able to CALL THEM, I could have found that out without leaving my house! So I made an appointment, selected that I needed a new battery, and drove in again 2 days later. At 7pm, they told me the phone would be done at 10am the next day!!! If they know I'm coming in for a battery replacement, why can't they call me to tell me it's not going to be able to be done that night because of all the other people ahead of me?? What a waste of time and gas!!!! Then they wanted me to make a 2nd appointment where they said it would get done within an hour. So upsetting that I drove in for an appointment to make an appointment!! Just pick up the phone and call me! read more

I made an appointment at the Apple Bar for 6 pm because the back of my phone was cracked. When I arrived they said it would take too long and I would have to leave my phone overnight, or I could bring it back 3 days later at an earlier time, which I chose. -When I returned, they said that to change the back of my phone would take 2 hours, that they would have to wipe out the entire memory of the phone and inactivate the SIM card, and that I would then have to go to Verizon the next day to reactivate my phone! I could not do that as working the next morning early. And it was going to cost $558! -Walked out to the kiosk across from Apple called Talk N Fix, super nice guys, fixed my phone in 1 1/2 hours for $200. Memory intact, no need to go to Verizon. read more

Came in this week to check out the new Vision Pro and was presented with a fun experience with the staff member. To be fair, this review could go to Verizon, AT&T or T mobile. It's been a crazy 10 days. Began with moving to Beaverton OR. We had AT&T in NC, but discovered that ATT had no coverage for either home internet, or cell at our new address. I should mention our new home is in a city, suburb of Portland, but, no service by AT&T? So I called Verizon. Yes, they had both cell and internet in my zip code. Great! Ported my phone, no problem, my wife's no problem, my daughters, the saga begins. Verizon said phone was activated, but wasn't. They sent a signal to her phone, no activation. Then they escalated to a "third" level, but no luck. They tried same stuff, again and again for several more days. Finally, took phone into Verizon store, where they got "permission" to swap the phone they couldn't figure out. I went to the store, because they said they needed a couple of things. Store folks were nice, but they put me on the phone with their credit people, who were incredibly rude. We have excellent credit, but had just moved and the person insisted they needed a piece of mail sent by a utility with our new address. Number one, why!!!!! We have a credit history in the high 7s and 8s going back years. I asked "You're telling me if we can't show u a utility bill, I can sign up with Verizon? Nope, u can't. Royally pissed I went the next day to the local store Apple store in a mall called Bridgeport Village. I gave up "porting" my daughter's phone, and bought a new $1100 IPhone, and signed up w T Mobile. The very kind Apple folks assured me it would be activated and come out of it's $1100 box that way. Wait, not done yet. MY daughter, who is in hospital with a premie birth, called on her husband's phone and said her T Mobile wasn't activated. As I am the account holder (read money payer), I called T Mobile support. No of course the phone wasn't activated, they need the IMEI number. I said, didn't the Apple Store send that to you? Never mind, I'll call her husband and get it. NO, u must come into store, and bring phone! What!, Why did I bother going to the Apple Store? Why doesn't every Apple Store, tell the truth and say they can't activate their phones. That way we'll all know to only buy from the phone companies! NOT! Guys, I'd say it's got to be a cellular scam, except I don't know who's coming out ahead. I certainly didn't, Apple now has one, pissed off future customer, as does Verizon and T Mobile. I think the only solution, based on my experience is to nationalize all communication services, especially wireless companies, they're just not competent! read more

Absolutely awful. Waited in line then inside my mother name put on list, 86 year olds old and needed a new Apple Watch band and wanted to look at the new ones. They never attended to us and after waiting for so long we finally left with nothing. Young woman supervisor made fun of her. Unimpressed and do not recommend this store! Apple has profoundly let me down with their product and customer service. I have been a loyal iPhone user for over 10 years and have defended the company's product from the detractors. Well, things have changed after hearing about my sisters story of how she was treated by apple at this location when she tried working with them at to find a solution for her defective and dangerous phone. What I mean by dangerous is that this phone has literally burned my sisters skin and left a mark on her. I have pictures of her burns and a video of a water droplet being boiled and evaporated when sitting on the home button. Apparently this isn't a valid enough reason to be taken seriously by apples customer service. My sister called me today very frustrated with the solution that apple had offered her at the store by the store manager. They told her this phone wasn't considered a risk to her health and that the best they can do to help her is give her a discount on her next phone. Why would we buy another phone from them if this is how much they're willing to help out when their product is a safety risk?! My sister worked very hard to buy this phone. I know they didn't take my sister seriously because of her young age. It seems like Apple rather wait for my sister to be severely injured and have lawyers involved before addressing this issue properly. Very disappointed! read more

I tried to talk to somebody a few times but they didn't cared about me and my family. A younger lady talked to my sister very unfriendly and impolite. They didn't care about their customers. I saw a lot of employees who talked together and didn't say "hi" to me and my family. They had a poor service. I wasted my time there. My family and I never come back anymore. Always a great experience. I took my mom to get a new phone and watch and they were delightful. Hannah helped her reconnect everything and she was super helpful when some apps weren't loading properly. My mom lives abroad so some things had to be manually configured, but Hannah was amazing. The only thing I would like to see is better seating for disabled folks. This is not store specific, so I will probably email corporate with a suggestion. The stools are functional but they are so hard to sit on for us folks with broken bodies. Both my mom and I have mobility issues and our poor backs and hips were so sore after. read more

Pam was excellent! She was helpful and extremely gracious. The rest of the staff however, were not. They avoided eye contact when I tried approaching them and clearly did not want to help. I came in knowing what I wanted and had no questions regarding the matter and yet I was still made to wait at the store for over an hour with no clear time estimate just to buy an iPhone. It was a transaction that should've taken less than three minutes and yet it was needlessly dragged out. It was also not an option to give me a call when it was my turn. From what I could tell, everyone had to abide by the same system-which made for an extremely chaotic experience for all parties involved. Aside from Pam's helpfulness during the check out process, the service here was atrocious and extremely inefficient. read more

We came into the Apple Store today to fix a problem a previous sales associate had created for us. While upgrading my iPhone through Apples iUp program, he proceeded to generate a brand new contract for me vs. just keeping the same. I called and spoke to Gina on Wed and when we came in and spoke to the manager Judy today, not only did she have a whole print out with all the notes from Gina and I's conversation earlier in the week, she knew exactly who we were and how to fix the problem super quick. So while mistakes happen, I'm impressed by how quick and well the managers of the store handled the problem. read more

Oh my gawd. I've been here for Genius Bar service a few times now and ... amazing, fast, fast, fast! Courteous, intelligent... you want to feel like a July man, not a number? This is THE place for iPhone and Mac service. Twice now I've set up Genius Bar reservations online and had to revise them. So easy with the link in the confirmation email! This latest visit was for a bad battery in my iPhone 7. I was all ready to be without my phone for the weekend when the cheerful and helpful red shirt said, "How does an hour sound?" Oh, and "If we find antlything wrong with your phone where we can't fix it by replacing the battery, we'll give you a new phone, equal or better." Awesome! I was actually a bit disappointed when the battery replacement went without a hitch ;) I picked it up exactly an hour later and, now... here I am writing you about this 5 star experience! P.S.: No, my Apple care expired ages ago and yes, I gladly paid $49 to fix the phone. read more

This place is a joke.. Made an appointment to get my laptop fixed sat there for an hour no solutions. Then left my computer for three days. Never heard anything from anybody. Spent over an hour on the phone trying to call the place. No tech-support or anybody with Apple to get a hold of anybody at the store had to drive to store to find out that they could fix my computer for $585 the laptop worth $400 They give me trade $250. Went to a private technician that works on Apple computers fixed it for $50. Never go to the store places complete joke! read more

Extremely disappointed. My Face ID just stopped working last week. Called my phone provider spoke with them over an hour. Called apple and spoke with them back and fourth for hours and after they said they can't find anything wrong with my phone set up a Genius Bar appt. Employee did all diagnostics and said everything was good with the phone. Checked water damage, no water damage. One of several fruit stands in the Portland area. I kid. Not too much to say about this location, as it looks like pretty much every other location that sells fruit stuff. Staff are friendly and top notch, as usual. I was able to find what I need and was out in minutes. The one thing that stood out for me was the really long Genius Bar waiting area. The bar tables are definitely longer than the ones in Canadaland. Great for staring at the wall while waiting for one's electronics to get looked at. read more

They said they were not helping anyone who didn't have a Genius Bar or service/shopping appointment - however, there were multiple free associates. In fact I was greater by 2 associates. We needed an item for my laptop to use for a presentation by Saturday and I ordered it from their website on Wednesday and they got it to my by Friday with free shipping. So amazing. Thank you for the Covid precautions as we did not want to go to the mall and thanks for the quick turnaround time. We have been in the store in the past too and never had an issue. This is not a review about Apple as a company, it's this specific store. TLDR: my iphone stopped working, two chat sessions later I had an appointment for the genius bar. Head in and the genius tells me the options i have for purchasing a replacement (oh and there's a whoooolllee other tangent i can go on about that bs.). I decide to get the stupid new phone, and the guy tells me they don't have the model/ color i want but for x amount more i can get the more expensive one. Fine, whatever I'm tired, sure, give me the damn phone and let me go. OH NO! He tells me I have to make an appointment to purchase this phone, and the next available appointment is in 2.5 hours. Idk about you but I have sh*t to do. I ask, why can't they just sell it to me and let me go? This is apparently against policy. So i leave. Go home to find out that Bridgeport has exactly what i want and there is no wait. Seems like a training issue. read more

It's a great store, both for shopping and repairs. A far better option than the non-Apple store authorized service and sales places. It is amazing the number of people who don't get that it's the same as at a doctor's office--different people have different jobs. You don't want the receptionist doing surgery when the doctor is busy. You politely wait until the doctor is free. And, if a rude customer you think has cut in line, the customer is the problem. Please treat these professionals with the respect they deserve. read more

I have a MacBook Air that I love but that had a questionable battery. I brought it in and Apple a Washington Square stated that although I did not need to replace it, it was good proactive practice since it was 80 percent ish in capacity. so I paid for the in house service of replacing the battery. A few weeks later, the laptop died completely. When I brought the laptop in to diagnose the issue they stated that the battery was fine but that the board had died and that the board dying was completely unrelated to the recent work they did inside the laptop. But then they provided me a staple that they said they found "rattling around" inside the sealed laptop (that likely created the short) They the stated that there was no way that the staple got into the laptop when they replaced the battery because they don't use staples at the Apple store. So I am then to believe that a staple somehow...coincidentally found its way into a sealed laptop right after they changed the battery. As insult to injury with the situation, the service person stated that this was not covered under any form of warranty and that if I bought a replacement laptop that day they would give me a $75 credit. "Even though I paid twice that for a new battery a few weeks earlier" It's one of the worse cases of customer service that I have ever seen. And since I did not receive a feedback request triggered by Apple I am providing my feedback here. I do not recommend this store or service group from my experience. read more

Whoever is in charge of warranty and replacement for things like the apple branded phone cases really gets off in trying to deny valid claims. This was made GLARINGLY evident when I walked in to replace my clear MagSafe apple case and the guy without so much as setting me up at the Genius Bar said yea they have a warranty but it's usually wear and tear on these things and we don't cover that. Cool how does a $50 case turn yellow and that is on me. Actually that's a chemical reaction that happens in plastic and that's on your employer and the material their manufactures use and yellowing is in fact covered by warranty. But you see I was 10 steps ahead of his shiny bald head because while I was in California a few days prior I took it to an Apple Store in the Bay Area and they quickly approved my replacement request and since I was scheduled to fly that day they set the ticket up for my replacement to be completed at my local Apple Store. So after hearing Mr. Shiney head gleaming with the excitement of telling me no. I had this little exciting tid bit waiting for him. So then his moment comes and he says there's nothing they can do I tell him - yea that's your OPINION - and you're entitled to it but your job is to follow the written warranty and since warranty covers yellowing regardless of the cracks on the case it is a valid request. You see your mother stores in California agreed and already approved my replacement - so just let me know when I can pick it up. He quickly handed me off to someone else and let me know my replacement case would arrive in a few days. So all this to say fly to California for your BS warranty replacement requests and then shove it up their asses here, they love it ;) read more

I have an appointment I've been sitting for about 45 min I'll update on how long I actually have to wait. I was "checked in" although I've seen several people who came in after me get help. Lots of employees just stand around and chat this is my second day coming in and it's the same employees that kinda just stand around. Go to a different apple store even if they're busy which I completely understand but helping people who came in after me when I had an appointment Don't waste your time go to a different store Update the lady who was helping me I think was new and had made a mistake others saw me waiting for an hour she came back and asked me if I was waiting for my phone I informed her I hadn't even had it taken back to get fixed. A man came and helped her put me in correctly they were apologetic. Came back in to pick up lady ignored me. Whole experience was uncomfortable phone is fixed though! If you have a closer Apple store try that one first. read more
