I had a great deal of trouble firming up a date to get the patching, staining, sealing done on my lanai. I had trouble getting him to come out to give me an estimate, and then give me a time for doing the job. He'd make a firm commitment and then not show up. I kept trying to work with him because he had done a decent job before (but with another company). I repeatedly asked for an estimate. Finally, a firm date, but no estimate. Very shortly before he was to come I finally got an estimate and it was for more than 3X what I'd paid before. There was to be repair in a couple of spots but when I questioned him about the sizeable increase he said it was because they were coming on a weekend. I couldn't afford that so he dropped it and said he'd come the following week. I wrote on the proposal that I agreed to the new amount if the work were done that week. It wasn't. Then, it was so ugly he acknowledged he had to redo it; something about putting water base over solvent base which did not mix. The finished job looks nice BUT the doors and windows (sliding glass doors with wood trim) are all splattered with the cement. He should have covered it all with plastic. The splatters look awful and I am distraught. Anyone else who goes with this company be warned: not timely, not careful, not terribly honest. by the way, I don't live in SF, this happened in Kailua, HI read more
