Okay job with the pool, but very overpriced, poor customer service and an unethical billing system where he adjusted the bill by back dating to before he did the work in order to make it look late. Said it was an accident, but very conveniently it happened during a dispute over whether this filter cleaning was included in the $1000 price tag for eliminating algae. It's the little things, but you can even see from his responses to reviews that he is an aggressive person that doesn't take feedback very well. We received and paid his bill in total, but will not be recommending this service to anyone. Our pool was not in good shape when we called for service because I had a sudden illness and couldn't physically maintain it over the summer and since my wife set this up as a gift to me, I didn't intervene on what I saw that he was doing wrong, but I was not impressed including draining our pool into the alley instead of the septic. This company makes me want to advocate to Yelp to add a zero-star review. I will keep this short -- this company is completely incompetent to handle pool service or inspections. Perhaps they are better at yard care? After inspecting the pool prior to us purchasing our home and completely missing MAJOR issues with the pool that could have been negotiated into the home buying contract, they were then hired as the pool company to maintain with weekly services. Services are wildly inadequate and cause more issues than they solve. All three of the guys that I've dealt with are friendly -- that's not the issue. It's that each week the service differs drastically, and is basically just chemical service -- something you can get from other companies for a fraction of the price. Many weeks, they spend all of 5 minutes with your pool -- I work from home and see this. Maybe for homeowners who are not at home this works....not for me. Excellent service. I was immediately impressed. The owner Taz is the owner and really cares about his customers. I'm so glad we found him. This guy will go out of his way to make sure everything is done right the first time and at a reasonable price. Taz was recommended by my friend who has a salt water swimming pool. She always seems to hire the right people. I was surprised because she's used them for a long time and didn't have even have the smallest complaint. WOW, because this someone who is a tough cookie to please. She was right. These guys do a great job. I have always been happy with how attentive and thorough Taz is, plus he is up front and makes sure what needs to be done is within my budget. Thank you, Taz. My pool runs and looks great. Would give zero stars if I could. This company was suggested by my father-in-law, so I didn't hold to my usual standards of multiple itemized quotes. Lesson learned. Taz did not complete all the work he said that he would. Our pool was a real mess. As I explained to him, health issues of both my husband and I were the reason that we were unable to stay on top of it and then later to do the clean out ourselves. He said he would clean the pool AND filter, but only cleaned the pool. I cleaned the filter, with a bad back. It was horrendously difficult because of my back, and I was in pain days afterwards. Given that he had agreed to do the filter, I expected a discount from his exorbitant initial estimate of $1000. Because I had failed to ask him for a detailed quote, he said he never agreed to that as part of the work. As I mentioned, the pool was awful. So if he truly thought that running the filter without a cleaning was appropriate after all the work he had just completed, then that says a lot about his understanding of pools. However, I believe that the answer he chose to give me says even more about his integrity. There's no way I wanted to sign up for cleaning that filter, and I made it clear to him when we initially spoke that we needed him to do everything. We were also intending to sign up for pool maintenance, so that is another indication that we felt we couldn't take care of it ourselves going forward. When I asked for a detailed invoice, he sent one line, with no breakdown of cost. Additionally, he was rude throughout our conversations. He kept asking questions about how the pool got so bad and kept scolding me to clean up my yard. Again dude, physical limitations prevented us from keeping things up the way we wanted. It felt incredibly ableist and judgmental... I guess the only people who deserve pool service are the ones who can do it themselves anyway? Lastly, Taz recently purchased the company from Junior. In December of 2021, Junior installed a new DE filter for us. There were problems with the install, and Taz tried to act like he was doing me a favor by standing by the company's work and fixing what was now his responsibility to make right. Save yourself the hassle and the BS and find another company for your pool service. Even if you pick someone else at random, you can't do any worse. read more
