We hired PPP to chip out our existing pool, repair cracks, replaster, replace the ladder, install an auto-leveler, and replace the pool light--basically a brand new pool. The quote was on par with other companies, and our pool guy had recommended PPP so it seemed like a no brainer. It took a really long time for the work to be completed, and there were nonstop additional costs all along the way. The gentleman who did the quote botched it, and at one point we had 4 gentlemen from PPP come out (including the gentleman who gave the quote) to our house to discuss all of the additional costs. They bickered amongst themselves and told the gentleman who gave the quote that he did a poor job, and then they walked him around the yard to give him pointers of where he should be looking for future quotes. It was awkward and unprofessional, and in the end we agreed to split the cost. After that, communications became extremely curt, all of the work seemed to be done much more sloppily, and we are still waiting for them to come back to fix the ladder that they installed incorrectly. When friends ask me who did our pool, I tell them "Pima Pool Plastering, but I do not suggest you use them". read more

I had a great experience with the entirety of a pool replastering, new tile and light fixture with PPP. Crews were timely, friendly and the quality of their work perfect. The start up process when the pool was refilled was step by step meticulously performed over the course of about a week. Avoid at all costs. I originally gave this company one star, then decided to give them another chance. Now that the job is finished and I've had time to really take it in, I honestly wish I could give zero stars. The tile work on my spa is so poorly done--it's visibly crooked and uneven. Some tiles stick out so far they've scratched me getting in and out. The bottom of the spillway wasn't even grouted--just bare tile mesh left exposed. I deeply regret hiring this company. The entire spa needs to be retiled. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

Pool resurface looks pretty good (not perfect but OK), but the process was very stressful. Was told it would take 3 weeks - it took 2 months. The crews were good although there was a language barrier and we could not ask questions. It would have been nice if one person was "in charge" of our project and the go to person. Instead when calling the office with a question it seemed like the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. Also got different guidelines from PP than what the pool surface manufacture recommended. Would I hire again? That's questionable. Would I recommend? If someone specifically asks about our experience I would be totally honest and let them decide but I would not outright recommend them. read more

Do not hire Pima Pool & Plastering! They ruined our popup system when they replastered. Then they told us that we could not prove that our system worked before they replastered. Now why would we spend all of that money to drain the pool & replaster if our pop up cleaning system did not work? Their process took over 6 months. Now our pool is stained & looks worse than before. We needed to resurface our pool and was a little nervous about taking on a project during these times of uncertainty . We got a fair estimate and decided to proceed. The office staff is superb! We were kept updated on every step of the process. We did have to pick out a different tile because of availability- but it was our second choice and so we were very pleased with the finished look. There were a couple reschedules, but only due to monsoon. Again, they kept us notified the whole way. Each team that came in to do their part were all professional, friendly and efficient. We love the look of our pool and with the great warranty I'm sure we will have many years of enjoyment. I would definitely use Pima pool again. read more

Inially contacted them on Mar 2nd for pool resurfacing.. We wanted to see the options for the Stonescapes they offered and was told they would not go any further with us until they had a signed contract and a 50% down payment. My husband made a special trip to Tucson to pay as we were very anxious to get started. We rec'd a text stating that a serviceman would come out on the 17th of March to drain the pool, then a different set of servicemen would be out the following Monday (mar 20th) to begin the demo phase. As would turn out to be a pattern, no one showed up on the 17th. When we called the office, we were told the text sholdn't have been sent as we weren't scheduled for the 17! Huh?? Then why was the text sent? "I don't know" was what we got. Over the next two months, that was our expereince with Pima Pools. Text and emails sent, both my husband and I changing our schedule, then waiting for techs who didn't show up because, the techs didn't know what the office was doing (and vice versa). No one in the office seemed to know what anyone else in the office was doing. We wanted accent tiles on our pools steps. The office said we had to pay for the first. We did. It turns out our accent tiles were 15 2x2 inch tiles that matched our border. We were charged more than $400 for 15 2x2 inch tiles! Labor for the accent tiles were already included, so $400+ just for 2x2" tiles? Their last tech came out on the 5th of June (a full 3 months!) to fix our pool light. I wouldn't do business with them again under any circumstances nor would I recommend them to anyone who asks. And just for the record, the finish doesn't look anything like the pictures we saw. When I asked the techs about how dark the finish looked, he said it would lighten up once the pool was filled. It didn't! read more

PP&P is amazingly professional. I can't say enough about how respectful and on time they were. The women in their office are extremely well educated in customer service and very polite. They would call ahead of their workmen to let me know when to expect them. Considering they had to jackhammer the old plaster and remove decking they were quiet. The area was clean each time after they left. Their price was really good, but what mattered was how well they did their job. The colors, the coatings, the redirection of water flows has all made my pool much better than it was 30 years ago when I bought the house. Vastly improved! PPP just finished removing our fake rock waterfall and installing a copper spillway, replastering our pool to mini pebble and doing a deck overlay. From start to finish this company and their workers have been awesome. PebbleTec rolled beam removal/replacement was a major job requiring tools and skills beyond the homeowners ability. Watching two men score horizontal cuts with a concrete saw made that readily apparent. The jack hammer was just the punctuation mark. From draining the pool to clean up, this company employs skilled craftsman who know their business, are patient and courteous with questions, and managed by flexible supervision willing to accommodate changes on the fly. If there were more stars, I'd give them! These people are amazing. I needed to have my 33 year old pool equipment replaced and moved to a different location in a very tight space. I tried three other BIG pool companies in southern Arizona and they all were very slow to respond and all only told me of all the trouble I was going to have doing what I wanted to do. The Pima Pool guy said, "There's nothing that can scare us." He was right. As a retired registered professional engineer in two states and a naval architect, I know a thing or two about pumps, plumbing and electrical controls. I was totally impressed with these people. They are professional, great problem solvers, use only top of the line equipment, practice excellent workmanship, courteous and they show up when they say they will. And their prices are right on the target. I am SO GLAD that the other companies were unresponsive and/or backed out and that I settled on Pima Pool Plastering. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Pima Pool & Plastering did a fantastic job restoring my 25 year old plaster pool. I got 4 estimates from the larger name pool plaster companies in Tucson. PP&P was by far the best value for the money. The cost for pebble finish was only slightly more than the other 3 companies wanted for basic plaster. They added a lagoon, auto fill and dedicated suction return for the pool cleaner (get your skimmer back). After several months now, I have completely enjoyed NOT working on the pool every weekend! It's almost maintenance free now. It looks new and modern with all new grey colored fittings and steps. The pool was just part of renovating my back yard. I dealt with other contractors for paver patios, walls, landscaping, etc. PP&P was the most responsible company to deal with. Carlos the sales consultant had great ideas and worked with me to design it. Kevin the owner was on site every time his team was there and always returned my phone calls, met with me and ensured any concerns were answered quickly and completely. They finished on time and unlike every other contractor I had work on the yard, they completely cleaned up any construction mess! They completely chipped the old plaster out my 18K gallon pool and I couldn't find a spec of leftover plaster chunks in the yard. PP&P team does a great job. The pool has a great new, modern feel. If you have your ancient pool renovated, add the 3 features I mentioned, especially the lagoon with hole for an umbrella! That's where I'm going be parking my lounger this summer! read more

Had complete pool re-plastered. Poor communication. Step tiles wrong color & do not match border. Owner of company argumentative, dismissive & blames others.
