Went there for a Friday lunch and enjoyed everything we ate. They are accommodating for gluten-free diets. The chef came out and visited with us for a bit. Love his energy and this place! I had the "summit plate" made almost gluten free with braised cabbage (a super delicious smoky side which was not listed on the menu at the time) substituted for the mac & cheese. Also substituted the mashed potatoes and gravy for the cornbread. The gravy is not gluten-free.

WOW!!! I was so surprised to find that Community Vegan moved from their food truck in the east side to Tarrytown! Which is great for me because it's easier to get to! Right now they're soft opened and doing pickup & delivery only, I can't wait until they fully open! The new location is very easy to do pickup from. The food is crazy DELICIOUS - everyhing we got. Even my picky toddler devoured the dime bag pieces and burnt ends Mac & cheese! We will be back!

Love coming here and supporting black owned businesses. They're always so sweet and the food always made to order so super fresh when you get it. I got the lemon pepper "wangz" and they're made from oyster mushrooms. An up and coming vegan staple and it was delish and crunchy. They have these bar stools and a high bar to sit at. Parking nearby is the street if you're lucky and the dental office lot that's next door (you pay for parking but I never have so shhh). Overall a great joint and can't wait to try something else. My mind is on the "too-nah" sandwich for next time. :)

I am trying to eat better these days so I wanted to see what the buzz was about. This food truck is located on the corner of 11th street, it's nice and colorful so you can't miss it. Unfortunately, there is street parking. I was able to luck up on a spot not too far away. I ordered the Lemon Pepper Wangz. This included Fried oyster mushrooms, with lemon pepper flavoring & seasoned fries. These "wangz" were so good! I never would have guessed that it wasn't chicken. I probably could've went with a softer fry but overall it was delicious. They offer a variety of vegan meals including nachos, sandwiches, burgers, banana pudding, and even sea moss. They also offer brunch on the weekends which I plan to make it to soon. Even if you're not vegan, Im sure you'll be satified with anything on the menu.

The fried okra was delicious. I'll be dreaming of it for years... Only wish I showed up on a Friday so I could try that mac and cheese!

I'm coming to find this place with my family! We were treated to bbq at work and the non-meat choice was from this vendor. Let me tell you, the food was not only delicious but beautiful to look at! Presentation is a big deal for me when it comes to dishes and Community Vegan didn't disappoint. The people I talked to were kind and explained the ingredients in the dishes with pride!

Yes, I absolutely recommend this place! Even my husband who is a hard-core meat eater wanted to venture out a try something vegan. We couldn't decide what to try so we had a variety. I ordered the Crab Cake Totchos, so very very good! My sister ordered the Lemon Pepper Wangz, also very tasty, my husband ordered the Beer Battered Cauli Chik'n Sandwich with fries and the Smash Not Pass Cheezeburger, Wow it was all very good and well seasoned. The service was great and speedy, and all of our questions answered with a smile. We also ordered the homemade Lemonades, so refreshing and delicious! Because it is a food trailer the ambience is just okay. The Texas heat is no joke but the food is well worth enduring the sun! I highly recommend giving Community Vegan a try!

Really cool spot in a food truck area with lots of picnic tables outside the truck. I ordered the Crispy BEER BATTERED CAULI CHIKN SANDWICH with WAFFLE FRIES, and it was pretty greasy (that's the only qualm I had was how it was still dripping oil from the grease), but SO delicious! It was literally a huge piece of cauliflower battered & seasoned and then fried. It was so good- I think about it almost everyday of my life since I had it, and if I end up moving to Austin, this will be my monthly meal. The waffle fries were the best waffle fries I've ever had in my life. They were so crispy (which is how I like all my food) and so delicious- no ketchup needed! Will return again, and I highly recommend everyone experiencing this delicious food.

First of all, love the hip vegan vibes of this truck. A painted bus, hot dope. Got the Lemon Pepper Wangz Basket. Kind of pricey for the amount of food that you get, but still yummy. The Fried Oyster Mushrooms were crispy and so flavorful, definitely get them dirty. Paired it with the cajun dipping sauce which balanced out the fried taste. The fries were also so yummy. Crispy and also rolled in flavor :)

I had been wanting to try this place for years after hearing people talk about it and following the fun CV stories on social media. I decided to come for brunch and debated between the Chick'n N Waffles and the Southern Fried Chik'n biscuit. The photo on the IG post of the biscuit sandwich earlier in the day was still haunting my mind, so I decided to go with that. I definitely want to come back and try the Chick'n N Waffles. The sandwich wasn't exactly what I was expecting. My biscuit seemed a little flat and didn't have that puffy golden top that I expected. Although the taste was good, it was really crumbly and caused me to have to cup the sandwich in my hand to eat it. The best part was the fried oyster mushrooms! I want to come back for lunch and try them just on their own, because I bet they will be amazing without any thing else to distract from them. The wait for my food wasn't too bad, it was just unfortunately hot out so time stood still. I wish there were more shady spots to enjoy your food. They only have two rows of bar seating and most of it's in the sun.

Great flavors but the mushrooms and fries were fried too hard. Smaller pieces were not edible.

Is the breading for fried items made with wheat flour? I would presume so. Just curious.

Is there free parking?

Yep, but you might need to drive around a bit depending on how busy it is.

Friendly staff overall. The food fell flat for almost all of us. The salads were fresh and good. However, the ribs were below average. Cornbread was stale and not tasty. Biscuits tasted more like firm bread and not at all flaky/soft. That seemed weird to all of us. Chicken fried steak was soggy and not crispy. Drinks were ok. Not quite sure why the food was subpar, but there were 10 of us who all agreed we wouldn't return for food. There is a swanky little cozy speakeasy in the basement that may be good? We didn't try that.

We both subbed beans for mac and cheese. My friend appeared the most jolly I'd ever seen him and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken. I really liked the mac and cheese, and I liked the chicken as well. The coleslaw was decent, and I often don't like coleslaw. The skin was tough and too much for me, but the food itself was great. The two piece was substantial for me, and the four piece seemed to be a little too much even for a big boy. The restroom floors were suspiciously very wet. I feel like they could provide some moist towelettes because the chicken was very greasy, and we had to just pour water on the napkins. He recommended the chicken & biscuits, cinnamon toast, & the b.e.c sandwich. I ended up getting the b.e.c. sandwich & it was yummy. The sesame challah bun was soft & toasty. The bacon was smoky & crispy. The bacon, pimiento cheese, jalapeño jam, sunny egg, & arugula in the sandwich was the perfect combination for a breakfast sandwich. The potato wedges that it was served with were crispy, well seasoned, & not salty as all. My boyfriend ordered the chicken & biscuit & it was yummy as well. The chicken was crispy & juicy. Paired with the hot honey made it better. The biscuit was fluffy, but I wished it was more buttery. Overall, everything was so good. I'm definitely gonna try the cinnamon toast & other foods the next time I'm in Austin.
