This is a great little coffee shop with both traditional drinks and their own recipes. Every Thursday and Friday you'll see Matt and/or Bonnie running the counter. Matt is the Pastor of the Assembly of God church that meets at the other end of the building. Bonnie is retired and long dreamed of owning her own shop. So she gets to touch on that dream every week. Go on in and if you need someone to chat with, Bonnie will be a great listener and conversation partner. This space can also be rented for events. This is my second visit. I had a coffee date with kiddos. I CANT BELIEVE THIS PLACE ISN'T PACKED! It's awesome!! So these Nordic waffles...yum! They have a few staple flavors like the breakfast waffle, Nutella & strawberries n cream. I could be wrong but I think the other flavors may be seasonal? We went with 3 breakfast, a Peaches n Cream and Key Lime waffle. They were all delish! For sips-we had the seasonal Blended Earl Blue (shake makes with Earl Blue tea), an iced Dirty Chai (Chai with espresso shots added) and I had requested a past coffee special of Cardamom honey latte (yep-hot. I know it's 99 degrees outside but this makes momma like hot coffee for the first one to start the day!) Oh! And a kids mango smoothie for the little tyke! It seemed like there was only 1 gal working-for ordering, making all the food and drinks. She seemed shocked that we wanted 5 waffles. I had to explain we haven't breakfasted yet (I know, I know! I'm a terrible mom that hasn't fed her kids at 11am already!) while our order was probably much larger than average, and she was the ONLY one working- she did a stellar job of getting it out. FYI- both times I've been here, those Nordic eats take awhile. So maybe don't come to try one unless you have time to wait for them to be handcrafted. The place is roomy with lots of seating inside, a few outside spots but like literally- two- A patio table and a loveseat. They also rotate local art on the walls, have a few local made bracelets and body scrubs, a great billboard for local advertising, 2 Unisex bathroom (1 with baby changing table!), an enclosed kid toy room with 2 comfy chairs for mommas to sip their coffee while the tots play. The location of this coffee shop is ideal! Right on the corner with some street parking, but also close by neighborhood parking (where I parked because I wanted shade for my car). There was only 1 person working and tragically she had lost her voice and of course I had loud talkers behind me so I could barely hear here. But it wasn't her fault. She was very helpful and sweet and rocking it even though she barely had a voice. The shop had a great, classic, fun and modern vibe. It had fans and AC so PERFECT for a hot day when you're trying to stay cool. (However, I wasn't the only one thinking that). The building was loud with different machine noises, so it was a little hard for me to do my work (ADD is real, and Adderral is a miracle worker!) But it was the perfect amount of busy with people coming to do work or taking it to go. They have some local crafts being sold as well as some games, trivia nights and other activities so it was friendly for all ages. Originally it was quiet without music, but later music came on. Not sure which way it's suppose to be. But It was a great environment either way! But the shop is very well maintained and clean! I ordered a Nutella Nordic Waffle cause those sounded unique! I was fresh and full of nutella! I was hoping it would be nutella flavored batter and not just full of nutella, but it was still good! (Nutella is delicious either way!) A little soft and almost soggy, but it was still delicious. Not sure if it was under done, if it just needed a few extra minutes to cool or if that's how it suppose to be. Either way, it was delicious! I'd get it again happily! It was rather hot the day I went, so I went with a cold press and it was good! After looking at the menu more there's other drink I wish I would have seen and tried (like a sugar cookie shake! yum! or their fun summer flavored Arnold Palmers). It's a small local business still working some kinks out but I see GREAT potential in the shop. I definitely plan to return! I love that their 'reward program' is all based off your phone number so no apps, or cards to keep track of. They have a play room and seating spread out so you can sit either in from by the bar or in back in comfy seats where it's probably a bit more quiet. They even have some outdoor seating which I'd totally sit and read a book here later on in the summer. You can still tell the shop is making a name for themselves, and they are doing a great job! I recommend this play for anyone looking for a cute adorable little coffee shop! Let's be real, who doesn't love little local businesses. read more

Wow! We went a little out of the way to come here but it was totally worth it. We both got the breakfast Nordic waffles that came stuffed with egg, cheddar, and turkey bacon. The food is homemade so it takes a little longer but worth the wait. They were so delicious; like I'm probably going to dream about them. I also had a latte that was infused with their homemade lavender flavoring, which was fabulous. My bf had the Not-A-Colada, which I wanted to steal from him because it was so fresh and tasty. Also, I can't say enough about the friendly service. Such a neat spot, too, because the place is huge with several cozy nooks. Prices were great. Loved everything about it. Can't rave enough. Side note: it did look kind of dark as we drove by, so we were afraid it wasn't open...don't let that fool you! read more

I just heard about this place and like to support local businesses. I was not disappointed at all. The coffee shop is very clean and has ample seating. It is setup really well, for meetings, gathering with friends, studying, or doing work. I got a large Cold press and a turkey and jam bagel sandwich. Both were excellent. The cold press was of high quality and tasted wonderful. The bagel sandwich was also great. You could tell that it was made with fresh ingredients and not just warmed from frozen like you get a Caribou. The staff were also very friendly and knew what they were doing. Everything came out fast exactly as I ordered it. Columbia Heights finally has a legitimate coffee shop! read more

I've been seeing neighbors comment on this new coffee shop in the Nextdoor app since it opened a few days ago, and all of the reviews were very positive, so I had to check it out! I got a cold brew for my husband and a ginger chai for myself (both iced). The prices were very reasonable, and we're both very happy with our drinks! I didn't stay, but there were numerous tables and chairs near the ordering area and then a separate area with couches and chairs beyond the bathrooms. The space was very clean and bright! I didn't take a picture of the beverage menu, but it seemed like standard coffeehouse fare (with a few specialties, like the ginger chai). Based on the tea selection, I think they get it from Tea Source, which is a favorite of mine! I did take pictures of the pastries and food menu, which I will post shortly... Nice clean coffee room with big windows next to city hall and a park. Limited breakfast items on their menu. Nordic waffles are their signature breakfast item. If they added more unique items like breakfast tacos, Cajun breakfast, or breakfast burritos-I'd visit them more than a few times a year. read more

Cute little coffee shop! Great staff and good coffee :) I would definitely recommend the house made chai - It is delicious!!!! Prices are reasonable for an independent shop and the food is tasty! Their turkey bacon quiche is a nice breakfast treat. I will definitely return! read more

I love this place. Great coffee and great sandwiches! I love getting iced Miels from here. It always tastes great no matter who makes it. Their rewards program of every 10th drink is free is so nice and they remind me every time I'm there to use it. So appreciated, I normally forget to say I have rewards at places and don't utilize them enough. I love that they open early enough for me to stop before work. That's strangely hard to find recently with local coffee shops if I work early. read more
