I came here several weeks ago. It took me almost two hours to paint a mug because I used tape and I was doing straight lines. I was using two very light colors and I am an artist so I am very aware of how to color ceramics and how to use paint. I picked up my mug today very excited to see it and was extremely disappointed. I'm not sure how dark colors were on my mug but obviously it was not handled carefuly where it doesn't touch other peoples work. There was also an area that looked like it was attached to another piece of ceramic then broken off. On the handle where I would actually find it uncomfortable to hold the mug. I'm definitely not going to be drinking from a mug that looks like it is dirty. Very disappointed for their carelessness. read more

My wife and I went to Color Me Mine Whittier as part of our 45th anniversary. We've been to a couple of different locations. The Whittier location is in a strip with a TON of other cool shops and places to eat. We could have made an entire day around there. Color Me Mine is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. We were so glad we went. We make bowls and put our anniversary dates an the bottom. They then become family heirlooms. The shop was immaculate, but very inviting. The manager and her assistant were amazing! Our first time at this location, they walked us though everything they offer. For the hour or so we were there they helped us, a big birthday party, and several other people. They had to be busy, but they made us feel like we were their only customers. They offered stamps and stencils to use in painting our bowls. The manager personally searched for a bunch of options to help us paint when my wife asked if they had hearts. They had a lot of brush types and sizes. When we were working on our project they kept swapping our water bowls to clean our brushes. We mever had to worry about a mess. The shop had so many cool items to paint for the upcoming Halloween and fall, I wishe we planned more time. I would have added a Pumpkin Platter and a couple other items to my list. Highly recommended for a date, special day, or just something you've never tried before. We are definitely going back to Whittier Color Me Mine!!! read more

Seeing some of the reviews, I feel like I went to an entirely different place. I didn't have any of the issues others were talking about, and I had a great experience. I went around 3pm on a Friday, and it was for the most part empty. My group worked on our pieces for over 5+ hours, never rushed, and given our colors. Fast forward to a week later, I got a text message that our work was ready to be picked up, and boom - there was our art nicely bagged. I'd definitely come back again to work on a mug or a piggy bank. If you're planning to go for a date night , be warned - at around 5-6pm it REALLY picked up. Because of this the workers are spread a little more thin with everyone in the store needing help, but despite it being full when we went, we still had no trouble. 5/5 experience for us read more

My child loves arts and crafts so we brought her here. We were their first customers. Employee was very informative and helpful. Took our time choosing her item. Once ready all the necessary components were provided. My child was really into her art. She loved every second. It got really busy. The place isn't the biggest and there was only one employee. I got hectic but she finished her project. The prices vary but are more on the higher side. It's well worth it when your child has a huge smile on her face. Don't go to this location! Go to the Pasadena one instead! The young girl that works there is very rude and rushed you through everything. I paid $76 dollars for 2 pieces and to paint with my niece, the worker didn't interact with us or offer to help us. Once we were done she took forever to check me out and was still very rude. I called 2 weeks later to see if our order was ready cause I haven't heard from them. She said no it wasn't ready so I waited another week then called yesterday September 6th, I mentioned that I never got notified if my order was ready or now and she said "yeah we don't reach out to you n let you know you have to call or come in and ask" (that's dumb but okay) the Pasadena location sends you and email or calls you when you're order is ready. So she tells me my order is ready and then says have a nice day and tried to hang up on me. I asked her what time they open tomorrow (September 7th) she said they are open from 12-9pm then hangs up on me. So I go today to pick up my order at 1pm and surprise surprise they are closed! The place is really not kept up well. It's small, crowded and hard to get to the supplies. Staff really don't interact with you at all. Also after the session I called to see if the item is ready and still there. I was placed on hold for 25 min and I could hear them talking to other customers on the phone. I called another time during business hours and the phone just rang. We paid $10 per person for the studio fee and the ceramic ranges from $20-$30 per person i spent $77.18 for the session and got nothing in return. I came here with my friend and god daughter last week and our experience was good. The girl that attended us was friendly and she did give us clear directions. She told us where the paints were and how it all worked. It was a fun and relaxing experience. It was our first time so we weren't exactly Picasso's lol. But overall good time. The only thing I didn't like was all the cracks on my heart box when I picked it up. Idk what their process is to glaze but it completely ruined the bottom of my ceramic piece. This is the worst Color Me Mine i have ever been to. I wanted letters inside of my cup and i taped it exactly how i wanted them to be placed and they are crooked and not centered at all. not to mention one of the letters is flipped backwards. On top of that my cup took THREE WEEKS, almost a whole month to be finished. My cup was only part of why I don't recommend this location. my sisters cup also had her letter placed crooked and she wanted a letter placed on the outside of her cup and the worker said it would be fine so she tapped it how she wanted. when we came today to pick up our cups FINALLY! we saw how our cups were not how we wanted. my sisters letters were placed crooked inside as well as mine. the letter she wanted on the outside was just loose it wasn't even attached. so we went back and told them our issue. typically we are not the type to go in and complain but for how long we waited this was unacceptable. the worker inside said unfortunately we could not attach it so it was just left loose. my sister called them last week and they said oh we forgot to attach your letter on the outside of the cup so it'll take longer. at that point what was even the point in them saying we forgot to attach it on the outside so you'll have to wait longer. there was nothing they could do right now so we are just waiting to even see if they can do anything about this MESS. i will not be returning EVER to this location. I recommend the location in Brea. they had our items done in 7 days and everything was perfect. we also had called FIVE different times and every time they said they will call us when it is ready, which they never did. if you want to go to a good Color Me Mine go to the one in Brea. besides all of that the worker we spoke with today was very respectful though she was nice, good customer service from her. read more

I'm giving 2 stars just because the employees were very friendly when I took my daughter in. Other than that, I paid for 2 pcs, it was very expensive. I was never informed by the employees that I just needed to keep calling back or coming by to check on when my order would be done. Having not heard from them I put it out of my mind until recently. I called back only to be told they don't call customers, or email, or text when orders are ready. We just have to GUESS completion date and show up for pick up. In the meantime they only hold the items you've PAID for for 30 days before chucking them in the trash. I'm crafty. I'm always down. Down to paint that is. I have lived in Whittier for almost a decade, and FINALLY tried the small Color Me Mine on Greenleaf. My niece and mom decided to make an afternoon out of grabbing a few ceramics and painting them with our own personal flare. The staff was very nice and let us do our thing with the variety of plates and paints available. It does take a week or so to pick up the goods, but you can't beat the location and pricing.
