It's just awesome best service great for a field trip so many options to choose from

I love Color Me Mine, and this location is one of my favorites to go to! It does get really busy, so a reservation (or at least calling ahead to see if they can hold seats on the day of) is pretty much a must. The Brea location has more seating than other locations I've been to, which makes it a bit more forgiving if you try to do a walk-in. Reservations are made online and cost $5/person, which goes towards your total. From a large palette, you choose five colors. Sometimes if a friend and I want to use the same color, we'll just put it on one person's plate, which ends up giving us more color options overall! There's also a guide on each table with tips for different ceramic painting techniques. There's a cup of various styles and sizes of paintbrushes, and you can also request for a thin bottle for writing or detail-work. You get two hours to paint, but I've never felt rushed with either picking my piece or during the actual painting process. The staff here are always so attentive, courteous, and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. I've noticed that when it gets super busy and you need a paint refill and someone hasn't come by, don't be afraid to raise your hand or walk over to someone, everyone is super friendly. They have a great selection of pottery, and you just pay the price of your piece plus the flat studio fee. The space is clean, and I love that they also offer outdoor seating. Since it's right in the middle of downtown Brea, it's fun to people watch and enjoy the vibe outside on a warm day. They'll occasionally have special events or deals too, like student nights with a discounted studio fee. Definitely a fun little experience. We booked the day before online because we knew that Saturday could possibly be busy. It is five dollars per person to book a table either inside or outside. $15 we used to reserve the table went towards our final order. the ladies that All helped us were absolutely fantastic! They were so sweet to my daughter and very helpful about giving advice on how to paint our pieces. It is definitely a little pricey for the experience. It is $10 per child and $12 per adult for the supplies and then of course the cost of whatever you choose to paint. We ended up spending about $85 for two pieces. my daughter absolutely loved the experience and really it was very fun for our little family. I definitely recommend to give this place a shot if you're into painting and especially if you have Littles, who are very creative. read more

Haven't been to one of these places since I was a kid! This location was doing a promotion of $5 studio fees (normally $12) after 5 pm so a friend and I made a reservation for 7:30 pm on a Friday night. This Color Me Mine is located in downtown Brea so there are two parking structures to park at and some street parking. We arrived a few minutes late to our reservation but the girls there were so accommodating. They started our time after we picked out our pieces and sat down even though the place was packed. Ceramic pieces start at $28 and there was a huge variety to choose from. Once you pick your piece, you sit down and someone will come explain the painting process to you. There are so many paint color options as well as tools for you to use. My design required precision and was quite detailed so I used a squeeze bottle with paint instead of a standard paintbrush. You have 2 hours to paint and if you don't finish you can come back another time to continue painting for free or you can buy a paint kit to take home to paint. We both finished within the 2 hour period and our pick up was a week later. Second time at this location but it had been a long time ago, and today was another great experience. The customer service here is phenomenal, everyone that works here is very friendly and helpful. The studio fee is $10 for kids, and then you pay the price of whatever you pick out. All materials are included, with unlimited paint, the glaze, etc. I came here with my kid to paint a coffee mug for Father's Day. Went for an impromptu girls' night here at Color Me Mine Brea on a Monday night and we had a great time! I went with a group of three and we were able to get a table right away. Not sure how it would be on the weekends, but you can always call ahead to see how busy it is (which I'll admit we did)! This location is also really spacious. The staff was really helpful and made it easy for us to understand how the paints would look in our finish pieces, which helped choosing colors easy! They also came around often to refill paints for us. This was a really fun activity to do with my friends and to get our creativity bursting as they had a lot of options of things to paint with a variety of price points! It has probably been a hot minute since I went to color me mine, I was still in college, and it was a group outing of sorts. I recently came to the Brea location with my family to spend some QT together and doing something creative. It was an off the cuff decision, so we didn't make a reservation...so it was pretty packed when we got there, and we had to sit outside. It was a pretty warm summer day I remember, but our session was early enough that it wasn't too hot, plus we were under an awning and had plenty of shade. The staff was super helpful in helping us get started. We picked out our items and they explained the whole color things to us. They were pretty attentive to our needs and refilled our colors and got us new colors as we needed them. The kids had a ton of fun and it was a good time. There were a couple of party reservations inside and some dates here and there, so it was a very festive atmosphere the whole time we were there. Bathrooms inside are nice and clean, and I ended up being pretty glad we were outside because with the parties and the amount of inside reservations, it was pretty loud in there. We finished up and got our estimated pickup time for after our items were going to get glazed (about a week). We were really happy with how our items turned out. It's a little pricey, mostly because of the price of the item you choose to paint, but IMO, it was worth the experience and time with my girls. Cool place for a kids party. Parking - It's in DT Brea, so there are a couple of parking structures you can park at and as long as you're not there on a weekend night, I think you'll be find as far as parking. Went here for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend and we had so much fun. We made reservations and it went so smooth. It was busy for Valentine's Day so getting around was rough because it was packed. We checked in and our table was ready, we picked our items and they were ready for us. They kept checking in to see if we needed any more paint. They made many rounds. And the employees always greet us with a warm smile and do their best to get us a table as quickly as possible. We never feel rushed while painting and that goes a long way! 12/28/23 - To preface, I did not pay for this experience; I came here as a guest of a birthday party. Also, when you're part of a party, you can't choose just anything off of the shelf to paint. There is a special shelf designated for parties with a distinct selection of pieces, consisting of a lot of different designs like animals as well as plates, bowls, and mugs. This review is a shout-out to Hannah who helped us out today and was really nice and amazing. She went above and beyond and I really appreciate what she did for us! She made sure that everyone could hear the instructions well and always checked up on us. There were almost 20 people in our party, and she made sure to memorize everyone's name and address us by those names in conversation. If you needed more of a certain color of paint, she would come up to you with the paint you needed even before you asked. She would give helpful suggestions as she walked around such as "Make sure to cover up this area" or "You could add another layer here" to ensure that our designs came out as good as possible. After the painting portion of the experience, she helped to pass out food and drinks. When it came time for the cake, there weren't enough forks for everyone. She took it upon herself to retrieve more forks and ran over to the Flame Broiler across the street to get them. Then, she came back with enough forks and even continued passing out the cake to our party. She really wanted us to focus on the experience, so she insisted that she would clear the trash and take care of all the cleaning herself, even though we tried to help out. This place is a great way to get a party or group together! The only thing is not being able to separately purchase pieces. There were a lot of options but time is limited and it takes time to create. Normally I have come here both times for a friend's birthday and we put them all on one deposit and return the favor and help divide it. The reservation was nice, just wish I could see the colors more clearly. Sinks and restrooms were clean. I wish it was more beginner friendly with a trace or something since im not great at painting but just ceramics for fun and the ambiance/ experiences of trying new things! My friends and I came here for a girls night the other day and had a great time! We got to sit outside which was lovely and enjoyed painting our projects. It was super busy that night with lots of guests plus a large kids birthday party. This made it a little difficult to get the employees attention or ask for more paint ( you can't get it yourself ). We were totally understanding because they were slammed, but learned it might be best to go on a week day instead of the weekend. They recently moved from their previous location to a few doors down which provides them a lot more space inside. The parking here is great. It's a downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants so there is a convenient parking structure to park in. We will definitely be coming back, just on a week day! read more

This is our second visit to Color Me Mine Brea location. Reservations are recommended, but I do not believe they are required, but there is a $5-$10 charge for the reservation depending on what type of reservation it is. The finer details are on their website. If it's your first time in the area, you might be a little bit confused depending on which way you're coming from. Coming on Imperial Highway, you enter the main drive northbound for a shopping plaza, but then curve around the left towards the rear. A second curve takes you onto Birch Street, where Color Me Mine is located. There is street parting in front, but I believe it's limited to a 1 hour time window. Heading back towards Imperial, there is a public parking structure that would be the best place to park your car, as your time will most likely be much longer than that hour. There is no charge for parking at the structure. There are plenty of restaurants around Color Me Mine, in the event that you want to grab a bite to eat before or after your visit. While Color Me Mine does not sell beverages, you have plenty of options to grab a bottle of water or soft drink nearby. The first thing we noticed about the location was that it had moved! Previously, it was a few doors further down towards Brea Blvd, but roughly about October 2023, they relocated to a space that's double the size of their previous spot. This allows for much more tables and much more room to do your painting. I'm glad, as I don't have to worry about turning suddenly and whacking someone all the way across the room. I'm a big guy, so I'm definitely appreciative of this. With the open layout, there is also more room for painting parties....and yeah...that pizza they had looked great. How it works: You first go in and check with the staff at the counter, where they will seat you at an available table as a walk-in, or at your previously reserved table. You do have the option to paint outdoors at the outdoor tables, but be wary of the weather and wind. The staff will give you a brief rundown of what to do and to expect: You pick the piece that you want to paint off of the shelves. each piece has a price and a code at the bottom. You then pick the colors that you want to use (5 at a time) from a color palette, and write the numbers for those colors on the slab they give you. The slab has impressions that are filled with the colors you choose, and you're given a cleaning sponge, bowl of water, and different size brushes. I believe you have a certain time limit to finish your project, which can be extended, or you may need to book another slot to finish the project. Once you're done painting, you will then pay for the pieces you chose and a studio fee of $11ish per person. the pieces will be available for pickup about a week and a half later. The pieces are finished with a glaze and run through the kilns/ovens (not sure of the exact phrasing). Make sure you start off with the lighter colors then the darker colors gradually. Trust me when I say trying to get rid of dark colors with lighter colors when everything is water based is very, very, very hard to do. More times you go over the color, the more vibrant it will be, just be mindful of your time. When we showed up at 11AM on a Saturday for our time, it was pretty empty. 30 minutes later and we could barely hear ourselves. The staff is very attentive and helpful and explain thoroughly what the process is. When it filled up though, it was definitely a challenge to get one's attention, as they were getting pulled apart like bread. We did have to remind them a few times of what we asked for, which was an inconvenience, but given the amount of people and a large party....understandable. Though the pieces aren't the cheapest to some people, I believe it to be worth the price for the experience, considering everything factored in, materials, supplies, glaze and fire. read more

I love this quaint spot. For adults you can go pinot pallette if you want vino with toot brushes, but this place def is a breath of air for kids and adults alike. No Vino here! They have indoor and outdoor seating for now. Reservations recommended as they will prepare everything for you if you have a reservation (in terms of the seating and paint pallets). Most items start at $25 and it takes one week for your item to be ready so be sure that you're able to pick it up as you will leave everything there the day you paint them. The sink area to wash your hands it's in the back so completely go all out with the painting. They will constantly check on you to see what other paint you need as well as give suggestion if you ask. They do offer classes so for all those beautiful items you will see as you enter those are actually done by students! And if they can do it I know I Can. I haven't been to color me mine since I was a pre teen and wow what a fun experience it was just as I remembered as a kid! I made a reservation to guarantee our spot ($5/person which is then applied to your check out) but we went on a Friday night and there were plenty of open tables so reservations are not required but i'd say recommended. We got to choose which object to paint which starts at I believe $25. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My only critique is that the tables are just a tad bit too small in my opinion. Went here in January for the first time and had such a great time! My friend and I were greeted at the door. We were quickly seated inside (as requested) and noticed all kinds of cool looking and unique art and pottery along the walls. One of the girls there explained the process of how it worked: picking an item of our choice (plate, mug, vase, pet bowl, etc.), and then picking colors to paint the selected item. Once we finished, we'd alert one of the assistants there and then it takes 1-2 weeks for them to heat our pottery in the oven and clean before contacting us to pick up. The experience from beginning to end was super fun. The ambiance was pretty cool and especially with the fact that we came in on a super busy night, but we're seated quickly. The vibrancy from the art inside the space was apparent and we appreciated that. Lastly, our final pottery items turned out so great. My friend and I would definitely go back here again.
