Just got home from my first paint night at B Creative Art Studio. This experience was a birthday gift from my sister. We've both been to other paint nights with other studios/companies. She found a great Groupon deal and it was a great middle point between both our homes. I'm glad she found this place. I totally forgot our instructors name (sorry!) but she was awesome. She's there Thursday nights. She kept a great pace that allowed everyone plenty of time to paint at their own pace, without feeling too slow or too fast. We had two short breaks which was great to stretch or catch up. The last place I visited was like 3 hours straight and our group brought plenty of wine but it was so intense we barely drank. This studio does not serve or allow alcohol like a lot of those other paint night places do. This is strictly painting. Eat/drink before you arrive. I hit the Del Taco drive thru down the street. They did serve cookies and water so that was nice. They also shouted out my birthday and one more patrons birthday, gave us both a cute mini cupcake and everyone sang us Happy Birthday. Loved it! She makes everyone feel at ease and assures you that you can paint, there are no mistakes here. Six teenage boys in our group actually admitted that it was more fun than they expected. They didn't miss their devices during the 2hr reservation slot we had. Pizza paint nite was a hit, you can paint and take pizza breaks then resume at your own pace. Nancy is one of the best instructors I've had at these events. My friends who have also done these before said they really enjoyed learning to paint from Nancy. Look for the yellow bee sign right by the road. Enough parking. About the Groupon - you can book online immediately. If you see the date, time, or painting you want, book right away to ensure you get a spot. Two owners/instructors: Nancy (instructor) and Mario, assistant/helper/ everything else. Both are super nice. Studio atmosphere - absolutely love it! This is their only homebase (as opposed to restaurants or outside venues). Space seems tight but is actually enough. I love how they display samples of prior and future paintings. And the loud music? Oh yeah! They have a little snack shop with drinks. Overall - I chose Art Studio B because they welcome and encourage creativity. Don't like the colors, styling, sizing, etc of the painting? Or maybe you decide you prefer to paint something else? I have not made it back here yet due to time constraints but this was SO much fun and I had a great time painting with acrylics for the first time ever. I went a bit heavy initially while I was trying to figure out the techniques and everyone I spoke to said it was really not bad. I came here with my friend from a groupon deal. I made a reservation online for the date I wanted, however I got a confirmation email for a different date. I am unsure if that was a mistake on my end or not, but I emailed them and they got back to me quickly and changed the reservation back to the date I wanted. The studio was a bit hard to find, since it was in like a storage/warehouse type building. The space was a little cramped but not that big of a deal. The instructor was very friendly and would walk around to help people or compliment their work. They provided some water and cookies for us to snack on. Nancy & Mario are great, attentive to our needs, Nancy's instructions gave me what painting I signed up for online. My painting turned out pretty beautiful! I'm no pro artist but I felt like Picasa! This was really fun! I came by myself and was very worried that they would be very strict if I ended up late. I get out of work kind of late then having to travel = me on jitters. Luckily, they didn't start right on time and were very welcoming to me coming in. They have name tags and easels set up already, paint brushes, a plate full of oil paint, so that was really cool. You come in and get an apron that's on hooks at the far back right corner (when you walk in) so that helps protect your clothes! This was my first time painting with oil and while I went pretty heavy on some parts, I am actually pretty proud of myself for creating something that is kind of a picture. Nancy, who helped us with the brush strokes, was super nice and even offered use of a hair dryer to help dry the heavy paint I put on. Mario was very welcoming as well, helping Nancy, and offering paint to us as we all clamored for him. Overall, the entire experience went about 2 hours and they gave cookies and water as a complimentary snack. I posted my work on instagram and a friend told me that she's been around 4x now herself. I'm excited to go back! I hope I can get better at painting and paint thinner strokes too. :) read more

I wanted to try a paint class and Art Studio B Creative was the perfect place. At about $20 per class, it's a fantastic deal. You can book the class on their website and see what you're going to paint. I was totally new and hadn't done any painting since kindergarten - and even that was a total disaster. I found their studio with a little help from my GPS, it's right off Raymond & Orangethorpe with plenty of signs outside. Mario & Nancy checked me in, showed me where the aprons are and I waited for the class to begin in anticipation while going back and forth to get some water, fruits, crackers, and cookies and saying hi to my fellow painters. Nancy is an awesome teacher - she doesn't just paint a section and say "Now do it" she explains what kind of brush strokes you can use, what colors could work together if you wanted to go off-script, and more cool detail to make the painting personal. Most important thing she stressed was to have fun. And it shows! She dances & sings while teaching the class - there's a great sound system that plays the songs we requested when we booked. Well honestly I was going for my girlfriends birthday, so I wasn't that excited. But once we walked in, we welcomed with a smile and with chocolate chip cookies (YUM). We went with a groupon, and honestly didn't even need to produce it, because Nancy had us already set up with Name tags, canvas, paints, brushes and water for the brushes.
