Sometimes it's not just the framing! The word "Gallery" describes a place for exhibiting and selling art but really it's so much more. For me it's the experience - the time spent looking, studying, and simply browsing a collection is worth gold to me. Chemers Gallery in Tustin is that place that offers that whole experience. Every time I go in there, which I admit isn't near often enough but probably more than some, I delight in "finds". I have a fairly decent collection of artwork and it's not confined to paintings. I've ceramics, sculptures, glasswork, pottery, photographs, and a few weird pieces of found object works as well. Quite a few of those pieces have come from this jewel of a gallery so close to home. The owner Karen, and her friendly staff have always allowed me the luxury to simply roam. I have to walk through numerous times to take everything in. I get distracted by one or two pieces and then turn around and find something else completely unexpected. And, it becomes mine. I love this place!! I am a retired healthcare designer and Chemers was the art consultant on a few of our firms healthcare projects. What I enjoyed was the chosen works were always different from the predictable works too often seen in healthcare spaces and, they always complimented the concepts of our interiors. I also love the shows and exhibitions they often host here. Often soliciting works from local artists, craftspeople, and even foodies, these "pop-up" shows are always good for gifts, wearables, and sometimes taste-ables! And if I'm lucky, I often walk away with a new piece! I always look forward to stopping in on these shows and could spend an hour or more perusing. I bought a beautiful pair of silver/gold earrings there for under $100 and received compliments on them from complete strrangers. Recently attend a show and enjoyed the reception along with the wonderful Blues Music provided at the Enderle Center. After purchasing a Wonderful John Sawyer Landscape Painting, we enjoyed dinner at an adjoining Malaysian resturant. All in all a great night. The Gallery staff was very helpful in the selection of a frame, and informed me that if I didn't think the frame fit in with my hanging location, I could bring it back for exchange. We have been customers at Chemers Gallery for decades! What a wonderful little gallery with a great variety of artists' works on display. They change the shows every couple of months and bring in work done by many very good artists - not just paintings, but sculptures, jewelry, and a real variety. Prices vary from modest to pricey for the largest and best. Every December there is a show including a carefully chosen selection of new children's books with stories and artwork on the pages - many of the originals by the artists are on show, available for purchase. Our grandchildren have paintings or fine prints hanging in their rooms, all purchased at Chemers and very appealing even to older children and adults. Chemers does framing - very finely done, with a large selection of different frame stock, matting, and even fabrics. The shop is run by Karen Raab and a staff who are knowledgeable and helpful. I am happy that they make donations to charities every year, sponsoring some events that introduce the patrons to local organizations that do good things for the community. I enjoy visiting Enderle Center where Chemers is located - plenty of parking and good restaurants nearby too. read more

I had a framed original piece of canvas art on my wall and a week ago it fell and the frame had some damage. I brought it here and was surprised to be quoted over a $100 to fix. Just picked it up and realized what I paid for - not only did they repair the damaged frame, they also retouched some previous scratches and covered the back of the frame to protect the canvas, and they then added a new wire line to hang the frame safely! I'm very impressed and pleased with their quality of work. It was worth it! read more
