I found a painting quite literally yesterday, brought it in immediately after, and within 24 hours I've got a fully framed beauty ready to hang on the wall. First off, the selection of frames is amazing - and there was absolutely no upselling involved. Dory helped find the perfect frame for my (pretty gigantic) painting, and it was about 1/3rd of the cost that I was anticipating for a work of this size. Dory asked me if I had any deadline and I told her I didn't, but that I also am not the most patient person so sooner is always appreciated. I did NOT expect that sooner meant the very next day. Today I picked it up, it was wrapped carefully and in perfect condition. I gotta find more stuff to frame at this rate, these folks are just that good. Absolutely flabbergasted at how awesome the experience was, 10/10 would frame again.

The piece they completed in January is falling out of the frame. This piece, submitted to the Orange County Fair,was marked down to an honorable mention because the center of the needlework was loose. The second needlework had to be redone, as the lacing to the mounting board was loose, and the frame overlapped the needlework. I had to show them how to lace the needlework for tautness AND explain that the frame should NEVER cover the needlework. It took several extra months to get the reframe back. I have found a new framer.

My picture was actually done earlier than promised but when I picked it up there was a problem with the picture (totally my fault) and Wendy told me she could fix it by re-matting it but would have to charge me. I agreed and a week later my picture was done and I paid a very nominal fee for Wendy to re-mat it. They just took such an interest in me and my picture. I needed a 8ftx6ft birthday backdrop to be done in two days. I submitted a project quote here on Yelp and I had several responses from other printing shops including RedDot Printing. I was told my backdrop couldn't be done in two days, I was told that my image's resolution was too small, and other printing shops never responded. Z from RedDot Printing responds within minutes. He told me the same thing about my backdrop's resolution being to low for a huge printout, but what set him apart was that he took the time send me an email on how fix it so that he can print it. Once I fixed the image with his advice he said, "I can get that done in two days." and he delivered! I placed the order midday on a Wednesday and it was ready for pickup by 2:00PM on Friday. Pick up was seamless. He knew exactly who I was without introducing myself, he was friendly, full of personality, and so sweet. He unrolled the backdrop to show me his work and it was PERFECT! His price was cheaper than I imagined especially since this was a last minute request. I knew that I placed this order last minute and I knew I was an amateur with the design, but Z made my vision into reality. Z, thank you so much for everything. Your work is impeccable! Printed. I designed them on Canva, but needed them printed (like real trading cards). I called Z and from the first phone call, he was pleasantly helpful. After a couple of back and forth emails, he had them off to print. I picked up within a week of our first conversation and was blown away at the final product. Exceeding my expectations, truly. Z was able to help me make each of our 12 players their own card, which I then packaged as a team set and gave each player within a homemade/DIY sleeve. I've been a longtime fan of Chemers Gallery. I've purchased original pieces as well as had many of my own posters framed here. They have a million frames/mats/borders, etc. and they are great at making helpful suggestions. There is always a nice selection of art on the walls as well as cool pottery, mixed media, and other forms. There is also a lot of jewelry, soaps, and other small items that as a guy I've never really paid much attention to but that seems really popular with women. One thing that I like about this gallery is that it is very relaxed and they allow you to roam around and peruse the goods without standing over your shoulder talking up the artist and trying to make a sale. The gallery is run by the owner, Karen, and her co-worker Jennifer and, as a I said, they are great at giving you space but being available for any assistance should you need it. The framing is all done on site (upstairs I believe) and I've always been very happy with the quality and cost of the work. So, to wrap up, a nice gallery with a great selection of art, jewelry, etc. no snooty people following you around and more framing experience with Karen and Jennifer than all the discount framing shops combined. read more
