I contacted a number of the obvious places in Cambridge for service on my several-years-old Brother copier/scanner. (It was producing near-unreadable double images.) It seemed that none of them offer printer repair. Reluctant to just give up and buy a new one, I called Collins in Arlington. I couldn't be happier! My machine just needed a diagnosis and a new part. I brought both my typewriter and color printer there. They did outstanding work on the typewriter and were very friendly and kind. I kept calling about the printer. Once I talked to a person and she said they'd give me a call back about the printer. I didn't hear back. I called over the summer and fall a total 6 times and never heard back. So now I don't have a printer. I live quite a distance from them, so stopping by in person isn't easy. Really disappointed by this, especially as I now have no printer. read more

I dropped my printer and out of all the authorized Brother printer repair shops, Collins was the winner for the lowest cost to diagnose....only $38 and.... the cost is deducted from the parts and labor. The other repair shops charged over $90 to look at it plus parts and labor, which .akes it cheaper to buy vs fix printers. Meti repaired my Remington Rand Noiseless typewriter when other so called "typewriter service technicians" would not. They did not want to be bothered. After calling several printer repair places, I was given an unusually good price by the Collins Office Systems owner, Meti. And this was for a house call to fix my large 6-year old HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M477fdw printer. My printer is too large and heavy for me to lift and I was eager to find someone who could come to my house to do the work. Meti ordered the part that was needed and Jerry came to my house to do the work. Jerry could not have been more professional or more pleasant and friendly. It took just a couple of hours or so and he did a perfect job. My printer now functions smoothly and beautifully and I feel as if I have a brand new machine. Throughout the process, both Meti and Jerry treated me thoughtfully and respectfully, and were completely reliable. The final bill was modest and, frankly, an excellent value for superb service. I run a law office and on a Friday afternoon my 5 year old HP Laserjet Printer made a loud grinding noise and kept jamming. I called Collins Office and they told me that if I had it in their shop, they would figure out the problem before 5:00. We were just about to throw our son's newish HP DESKJET out. Every piece of paper went in straight and then took a 45 degree turn and had to get yanked out. I followed the instructions and cleaned the rollers and looked carefully in the seams with a high powered flashlight. I even took dental tools searching for impediments. Nothing. My husband took it to Collin's office and they meticulously and magically worked their magic and VOILA! a big fat rubber band appeared out of ...where?! Who knows? Who cares?! Collins Office Systems serviced my Brother MFC-8840D printer three times over the course of many years. Each time they did a terrific job. The last two times they made a service call to my home office. Victor was prompt, efficient, very pleasant and helpful, and is clearly highly experienced. When I had to reschedule due to a pet emergency, he even asked how the pet was when he made the service call. Even though it wound up not being worth it to repair the printer this last time (after 192,849 prints!), Victor was great about thoroughly explaining all my options.
