Stopped by for a casual dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. Great ribs and Cajun Shrimp appetizer. Salmon Cakes were super yummy. Jeff liked the shrimp and ribs so much he ordered a second round. Would like to see some higher end wines. My Malbec was okay, but there are better wines. Loved the high tips in the bar. I'm so excited about the new concept inside this darling location. It's a remodeled former gas station with excellent patio space lined with flowers, so cute. I could sit outside all evening and chat with all the passerbys. But the important part is the food! I really enjoyed the balance of the menu. They had some great appetizers and snacks. Perfect for my plan to hang out on the patio. There is also a diverse selection of entrees with both Snapper and salmon options. I appreciated healthy choices. Of course you can also go all-in and try the house specialty - fried chicken. I had the salmon with pesto and rice. My husband and son had the blues burger with red hot riplets bacon. OMG the bacon is incredible. I couldn't resist the chocolate cake with peanut butter cream. Made fresh that morning! They are working on their full liquor license so the bartender got fresh and creative and came up with a menu of cocktails made from beer and wine. Genius! We shared a pitcher of white sangria. Just popped in here for dinner on a random Thursday because we were in the area and BOY I'm glad we did! It has the cutest ambiance with a fantastic patio. We sat inside because it was hot, but next time I'm sitting on that patio! They had a surprisingly fantastic, diverse and upscale menu for being a cute old gas station! I was admittedly shocked. My hubs got the braised pork belly (holy heck!!!) and I got the chicken tacos! They were crispy and the sauce that went on too had just the right amount of smoky spice. We also started with the hummus which was amazing (but we ate it too fast for a picture). I told my husband I wish we lived on The Hill so we could walk here weekly! Toasted ravs and the green goddess sauce were amazing, truly some of my favorite toasted ravs. I'd need to come back again before I determine they're my absolute favorite toasted ravs. Fried chicken was pretty good as were the nice green green beans with them, salmon was decent though nothing special. The mashed potatoes I ordered with the fried chicken had a good flavor but the texture was gummy. The strawberry shortcake cake they had was amazing: light and fluffy with a great strawberry flavor. The vegan pasta was very good, as was the house salad, but the prices are a lot - other people have said that the portions are big, but they're really not for the price, in my opinion. I would go as far as saying they are overly attentive BUT I appreciate that. Both the outside and screened in patios makes for a great vibe. This gas station turned restaurant is so cool with an element of surprise! The name "Pit Stop" in my opinion suggests truck stop type foods but it's everything but! The wife found the Pit Stop on here, looking for a place that had dairy free meals. Apparently the Pit Stop was a garage at one point, but now a quaint restaurant. We started with baked ravioli, which were stuffed with brisket and cheese, baked golden brown. It was served with Green Goddess and marinara sauce. Excellent!! Carol had the chicken roudelade and served with mash potatoes and received 5 stars. Dian had the grilled Salmon on a sweet rice and was very good. Melissa had the vegan Cali wrap and it was okay. Finally, i had the Seafood linguine (Shrimp, crab and Salmon) in a saffron wine sauce. Excellent! Melissa and I had the Strawberry Whiskey Smash, made with Maker's Mark and Melissa thought it was very strong, so that Dian took mine and poured it her ice tea, then poured ice tea to dilute mine. They have sangria flights though I didn't see that on the menu. I don't love the wine selection. My husband loved the snapper and he had a salad it was good too. I had the fried chicken it was good, the sides were smaller. Green beans pretty good but the mashed potatoes fell flat. We ordered the carrot cake, let's just say it wasn't decadent. For a desert it wasn't over sweet and tasted pretty healthy . We didn't need that anyway. I would have ordered the chocolate/peanut butter cake in retrospect. Consistently great food and service. I always have my mind made up.. but then they give me the specials and I almost always end up going with that. Last week we split a porterhouse with a house made teriyaki. Risotto and asparagus came with and it was all outstanding. The sauce was a perfect compliment and I wanted to dip everything in it. The salmon and cheese appetizer was also delicious and portions are extremely generous. The atmosphere is very casual. It's the perfect place for fancy food without all the fuss. We refrained from dessert, but should have gotten something for later. Their desserts are on point and I've never had anything at Pit Stop that was disappointing. We tried this place for the first time recently and it was not at all worth the 5 star rating it still holds. Our drinks and the toasted ravioli special we had were the only things that weren't dry that we ordered. We had their fried chicken and ribs and I could hardly chew either they were so dry, I had to drink water just to get it down. We visited pit stop yesterday. And our experience was amazing. Staff was attentaive and our waitress was amazing. I quite don't understand the bad reviews tbh, I think people seem to forget everyone is human and make mistakes. Everytime we have visited here our experiences have always been amazing. Even being with mistakes, but in order for those mistakes to be fixed they also have to know about them in the moment rather from a bad review. Every visit we have had our servers are constantly checking in on how we like everything and making sure everything is as we hoped. Giving ample opportunities for us to address our liking or our concerns. Our desert one evening was not our favorite. When our server asked how we liked everything and we shared that it wasn't our favorite, she was quick to offer something else on the house and the manager was quick to stop by our table as well to offer. We chose not to this evening due to be full. However, they also removed it from our bill. I just hate seee such a could establishment be tarnished by bad reviews knowing the expiernce we have and how much the staff cares about their customers experience. read more

The patio is perfectly set up to enjoy your meal with warm/adequate lighting and groomed plants to soften the scene. Our server was fantastic though pretty busy- she kept cool. Dinner was delicious! The brisket toasted ravioli is a must try - plenty of filling and served with marinara type and green goddess sauces. The tomato jam bruschetta had a slightly sweet taste on soft and crunchy bread, and the STL burger with blue cheese and bacon was cooked perfectly to medium and enjoyed with parmesan crusted fries. I went here for St. Louis Taco Week and only ordered the taco special (not on the regular menu) but I'm a fan and definitely want to come back again. I'm embarrassed to say that it's been long enough between then and now that I don't remember what was in the tacos I ordered - either brisket or pork belly - and it was DELICIOUS. My friend got the happy hour sangria flight special which included 4 generous sized sangrias of various flavors. I ordered a regular sangria which was really good but I regret I didn't get the special. A person at a table near us got fried chicken and it was a heaping plateful as the waiter walked by. Yum! There are two patios with tables spread apart so when it's outdoor weather it's a good place to be. I can't comment on the inside. I need to go back for a regular meal now. read more

A friendly place on a great street corner on The Hill. The atmosphere at this establishment brings you to restaurant that has a theme hidden inside of a small familiar setting. Originally a service station, the venue retains the old pumps out front, where you find great patio dining area, on one of the cleanest intersections on The Hill, with views of some of the great Hill homes. There is a enclosed patio, bar seating with high tops and a behind the bar dining room that appears was a repurposed auto bay, complete with a garage door that can be opened on warmer days where a new elevated patio is present. The staff is great and there are always some great menu items and specials that appear. A huge point on the 5 stars is that the owners seem to keep up with their social media and you can see specials and deserts presented there ahead of a weekend! I love this restaurant! I've come here on 2 separate occasions in the last 2 weeks and loved it both times. The first time I came with one friend, and we loved it so much I brought 10 of my friends the next time. And guess what - they loved it too! Food- They have such a great variety of foods that are both tasty and healthy. They range from different types of bowls (their Buddha bowl is good), wraps (LOVE their spicy chicken wrap), to full entree plates (their fried chicken with sides looks amazing). My friends had the brisket toasted ravioli and said it's the best they have had in STL. Patio- they have an adorable and pretty good size patio that allows for social distancing. It's such a cute little spot that is a converted gas station. And their flower arrangements are nice also! Service - every waiter was so attentive and friendly!
