We moved to Collin Country from Houston in late 1998. One problem in moving is to find good new doctors. The same holds for service people. We've been fortunate in finding good doctors. Less so with service people. We've had our share over the past 23 years, but none stood out until now. I'm talking about Collin County Electrical. They were head and shoulders above the many others we've tried - both in the quality of their work and the fairness of their prices. Rodney was a pleasure to work with. A series of nagging electrical problems had built up while we held home visitors down during the pandemic. As this eased I searched the internet for recommendations and chose to give CCE a try. Called them, they said they were fully booked during the day but could come out that evening after 6pm. Instead, Rodney showed up at 4pm. Quickly solved a circuit problem with a kitchen light, reinstalled a faulty smoke alarm, and put a new carbon monoxide detector in MBR. Since that happened so fast, asked if he had time for some more issues. Said "Sure." Next up was upgrading lights in MBR closet and kitchen pantry from fluorescent to LED. Great improvement. Used existing fixtures. More? Yep!! Having read that smoke alarms should be replaced after 10 years, I had bought them. But, at my senior age, I wasn't about to get up on ladders to try to install them. He replaced six of them, mostly on tall ceilings. All this took under two hours and the final bill was under $500. A prior electrician had quoted $200 to upgrade the MBR closet to LED - he charged $120. On top of all this, this big ex Marine was fun to be around and I knew in advance what everything would cost before I moved on to the next step. CCE will get all my electrical work going forward. Rodney Rasmussen best ever. Reasonable, hard working, and knows his business. Has over 20 years experience and licensed in his craft. He installed electrical circuit, installed security light, and install underground electrical service to shed with switches, receptacles, and lights. This review should be worth a million 5 stars in his favor. Great guy and trust Second time around : I called Rodney one more time to add lights to my attic and plugs. Very reasonable and his voIce always very welcoming and ready for any electrical task. My husband and I Love his persona. Great job and didn't have to wait. Didn't want to tell him that the other side of the attic was done by another reputable, well-known Electric company and they charged us way over than what we were charged from Collin County Electrical. Rodney, the owner, was absolutely outstanding. Very prompt in responding to our needs, very timely in coming when he committed to come, very pleasant and amicable nature, very good problem-solver, no wasted time, very helpful in moving our stuff to be able to get to what he needed to repair/replace. Even went the extra mile to solve a couple small things that were not on the original estimate. Great problem-solver on a couple difficult things. His estimate was right at or slightly lower than a competing bid so the price is very fair. He responses promptly to text messages. I can't say enough good. I've finally found the electrician for all our needs. 24 plus years of experience. Willing to work on off hours if needed. I collected a few of his cards and have given him to neighbors. I found Collin County Electrical online when searching for the best electrician in my area and I'm so happy I did. Rodney is an experienced professional, he told me when he could schedule my job and he showed up on time to the minute! He relocated an existing fixture, installed two new fixtures and installed a ceiling fan for me, he was very quick, efficient and respectful of my home. His pricing was extremely fair and he quoted me up front before he did anything, he also showed up exactly on time!. I waded through several electrician companies, trying to get reasonable service in a timely manner. Some wanted to charge me extra for whipping out their vaulted ceiling ladder, charge me for a membership scheme, and others wanted to turn my entire house into a construction zone and claimed they would need to put up scaffolding and paint my entire ceiling again after cutting holes for lights. ENTER COLLIN COUNTY ELECTRIC . I called CCE and they had the expertise to know this was a simple straight forward project, no need to for scaffolding or unnecessary paint. I called on Rodney at Collin County Electrical after a recommendation from my brother. He was absolutely excellent to work with. He gave us a fair, reasonable quote and explained everything we needed to have completed from our inspection report. Each time I called him he answered right away or returned my call quickly. On the day of the work, he showed up on time, was very nice and professional, and completed all of our work that day. As he was leaving, I inquired about having an outside plug installed, and he offered to stay longer and complete that too the same visit! We needed someone to install a fancy new vent hood I purchased so that's when I tried Collin Country Electrical for the first time. What a great experience! Rodney not only installed the vent hood with virtually no effort, he also took care of kitchen pod light we'd had other electricians look at but were never able to repair. Rodney with CCE is our go-to electrician, always timely; knowledgable; & efficient. Recently we had a "birds-nest" of wires below our TV in the living room my wife wanted gone. In no time he had it all rerouted & hidden! He then changed out a light switch; converted my three garage light fixtures to LED; replaced a stuck flat light over our stove (because he had the proper tools); & replaced a burned out light 18ft outside up over our entryway door. Rodney came out quickly to check electrical after the pipes broke and soon after I asked him if he could come back out to make sure the sump pump under my pool was running. He checked electrical, pulled the pump out to make sure it was working and put it back. When drywall was complete he immediately completed the electrical work. WOW! Yet another amazing job by Collin County Electrical - Mr. Rodney. We have used him for several jobs over the years and every time he does amazing work. He installed a light in our kitchen nook and 3 pendant lights in our kitchen. Had a microwave that would trip the breaker. I called Collin County Electrical and he provided some trouble shooting tips to try to see if it was the microwave problem and not an electrical problem Sure it enough it was a bad microwave, so did not need a visit from the company.
