We were referred to this place because of their matcha! My oldest and I visited here once before our zipline adventure. She got an iced matcha and I got their take on an iced golden milk. Both drinks were delicious! But while we were there, we were looking at the rest of their menu and said we needed to come back to try their breakfast sandwich with house made spam! We ended up stopping by here again on our way out of town. My youngest got a muffin and my oldest and I split the Collab Brekkie Sammy and got their house made spam. It was phenomenal! This is a hidden little gem in Kapa'a! I'm not overstating it when I say this was fantastic! The young lady, Ani, who greeted me was friendly and super passionate about their products and was very knowledgeable. My Avo toast was made with a thick slab of obviously locally made sourdough that was absolutely delicious! And my chai latte was an actual chai with all the cardamom and cinnamon flavors I so enjoy. The atmosphere is hippy, fresh, friendly, and welcoming. Lots of locals eating their breakfast when I went in plus lots of visitors. Collab Cafe is a super cute surf cafe in Kapaa, Kaua'i. Serving fresh and locally sourced food collab cafe is a great choice for something healthy! The shop was opened by two friends who started the business together, hence the name "Collab" The service is super friendly and personable and the food is even more delicious. I ordered the brisket sandwich and macnut cold brew. I thought the sandwich and coffee was great. The coffee was not too sweet and had a slightly nutty flavor. The brisket sandwich is good as well. It was pretty filling, but I feel like it would've been bitter with a guava barbecue sauce for instance. The thick cut bacon was absolutely phenomenal. The shakshouka was good but a little bit heavy on the tomato. (I know it's in the base sauce but still) the Collab breakfast sammie was also really yummy. Love coming to Collab whenever I am in town and Outpost Coffee is one of the best in the island! This location is excellent and the food is delicious! The mushroom toast subbed with the mac nut pesto is the way to go! They are always super friendly and the service is super fast. We sat in front of the coffee roaster which when running is an awesome experience! The location is cute and has an outdoor area as well. My buddy knows the owner Ben and we were chatting with him while he prepared beans for packaging. This place is a gem. Husband and I stopped in to try the coffee. Hubby had the drip black coffee, I had the Black Salt coffee. O.M.G. What an outstanding cup of coffee. I've never had coffee like this. I loved it. I hope it will always be on their menu. Hubby had the Macadamia coconut cookie, he loved it. Very soft and moist cookie. Went great with his coffee. An absolutely amazing gem! Great vibe, very friendly service, great ethos, and stunning food! My wife and I split the Caesar salad, the pork sandwich special, and the brisket sandwich. The salad greens looked and tasted garden grown. The sandwiches were piled high with delicious ingredients, and good and messy. We also tried the chocolate chip, sourdough(!) oatmeal raisin, and coconut/macadamia nut cookies. All were awesome in their own way, but all were moist and chewy, and delicious. I found this place by accident and I wish I found it sooner! (It happened to be our last day womp womp) The shop itself is clean, simple, and cute. There's indoor seating and a good-sized raised patio outside. It's the perfect place to get some work done, read a book, or just hang out with a friend. I LOVED this new spot working hard to give life to the old Waipoulli Foodland shopping complex. It's a "collab" of three formerly separate businesses now working together to complement one another under a single roof. The hours are a bit tricky for now but the place has the potential to be a morning-to-night business if they can build the clientele. Fingers crossed. I popped in as they were getting set to close so just opted for a simple brewed coffee. I ordered mine black which meant that I could really taste the delicious coffee. The beans were slightly sweet, medium bodied, lightly roasted in house by one of the partner businesses, Outpost Coffee Kauai, which I think also supplies their larger cafe operation up in Hanalei. The breakfast toasts and bread loaves looked great though I had weird timing and neither would have worked for me during this particular visit. I will get both on my next trip to the garden isle. Nice outdoor seating, too, when you have time to lounge. Plus super friendly people who are eager to share their vision for the business and for reinvigorating this stretch of Kapaa. We have only good things to say about Collab Cafe! It was our first time trying it on this trip and we are so glad we did. The food, coffee, and matcha are high quality. The lattes were always frothed perfectly with cute barista art. The matcha powder is unsweetened which I had made with water, and the sweetness came from their coco whip which is homemade with whipped coconut cream and honey. Highly recommend! Their sourdough waffles are a weekend thing! Oh, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating! They are always down to provide suggestions when you're unsure of what to try! The avocado toast was good, and the citrus toast looked appealing but turned out to be a disappointing orange-and-toast combo. An automatic 18% tip was added, which I wasn't a fan of, I think tipping should reflect the level of service provided. Lastly, we tried the Macadamia Nut Latte. It tasted more like milk than coffee, even after they kindly added a shot of espresso, it was still very light. I'd recommend asking for it half-sweet and with less milk if you actually want to taste the coffee. read more

A new eatery in my neighborhood. I had to check it out. It has a hip vibe offering coffee, tea, light fare, and ice cream. I ordered the mac nut pesto toast. It came beautifully decorated with straps of carrot and Cucumber. The toast was a rye, ulu sourdough bread. It had a nice crunch. I also ordered a poached egg on the side. They have ice teas on tap. I ordered the lilikoi oolong. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell loaves of bread. A bit pricey, but I had to buy. It's hard to find good bread on island. The cookies and Kalo vegan ice cream is yummy. read more

This was my favorite coffee and food spot in Kauai. Their pesto macadamia nut toast was such a sleeper hit that we went back twice for it... it's easily the best bite I had while in Kauai. We also tried their vegan caesar salad and I could drink the salad dressing by the glass. They also make their own croutons from the sourdough they bake in-house. Finally, the coffee drinks are creative and delicious, AND they even do their own ice cream. It's a really special spot, worth a detour for. My only complaint is that during the weekdays, they don't have a lot of food on the menu. You have to come for a weekend brunch food menu to find all the good stuff. Wish they had more options on the weekday menu for food. read more
