Staff had no clue how to the make and mix the menu items. They overfilled the cup to where it was making a mess and they just laughed about it and put the same size cup under the messed up cup and then gave me a lid to put on it but it was such a mess it fell over on the counter and the lid still couldn't close. I'm surprised to see this place have such a low rating but maybe I came here on a good night. They were very busy tonight, but I was still promptly greeted and got my ice cream right away. The menu is pretty straight forward, but there are so many options it can be hard to pick. My daughter just wanted the featured ice cream (confetti cupcake or something to that tune) so I was able to order quickly and pay. I ended up picking up a pack of the ice cream cupcakes they have in the freezer next to their cakes. I still think I prefer a Dairy Queen cake because that crunch layer is what my dreams are made of. But the cupcakes are still really good. Hard chocolate shell, soft cake, ice cream, a light whipped buttercream, and an Oreo on top. It'll take some will power to not finish them all myself. I came to cold stone after work to pick up a small ice cream cake. The store was empty with two staffs standing around. No one said hello to me or asked me what I wanted or if I needed help. I picked up the cake and asked if they can write happy birthday on it. One of the staff said he didn't know how to. And since I was press for time, I just said fine and paid for the cake and left. I just ended up going to the dollar store and got candle and a sign to put on the cake that said happy birthday. The cakes are a little expensive but they are good. A group of family members and I decided to redeem our coupons for a free kiddie ice cream, value $2.50, that we received from a Blue Jackets ticket package. We had eight of these coupons. Before even handing the manager one of coupons to show her, she said that these are expired which they were not. We were then informed the manager could only redeem so many per hour. If the manager did redeem more than allowed, the manager would get in trouble because a policy change was made for these coupons. Apparently the Blue Jackets were not paying Cold Stone back for coupons redeemed. How does this affect me the customer? This is an issue between the Blue Jackets and Cold Stone. Also, If we paid for an upgrade (larger size/addons/etc.) for the ice cream, then we could redeem all of the coupons. No indication of this was listed on the coupon. As soon as I walked in tonight and saw the woman( who I think is the owner) I knew I was going to leave upset. I remembered her charging me over $7.00 in the past for a love it size ice cream, that was over $1.50 more than at other locations. For some reason, this location is hands down the most expensive Cold Stone I have been to in Columbus. I ordered a love it size and asked for whipped cream. This woman is so stingy with the ingredients that it is laughable. She put a quarter size amount of whipped cream on the top, so I asked if she would add more. I didn't think she heard me at first, as she didn't respond, but as soon as she was done with my husband's order, she put an additional dime size amount on top. It was absolutely ridiculous for $6.00. Our total was $2.00 more expensive for the same items than at the Gateway location. I will never patronize this location again because of this greedy owner. It's true that Coldstone is pretty expensive, but I haven't yet been disappointed by the ingredients. This location has always been friendly, efficient, and clean. The most off-putting thing is the inordinate amount of taped-up homemade signs. It gives me the feeling the owner or manager is rarely there, only observes the negative, then posts up these tacky signs instead of actually being there. While waiting for my order to be made, I saw signs about Clear Channel Vouchers, a Tuesday only special, a sternly worded sign on the freezer warning that leaving the door open too long damages the cakes, 2 signs behind the counter about plastic squeeze bottles being subject to melting, several small signs about ordering, and worst of all, 2 signs on the counter that say "Caught You Looking!" followed by a request that coupons be presented before ordering. I'm guessing that's the note-writer's attempt at levity, but ugh! Really? It's amazing that the staff seemed as cheerful as they were surrounded by all those signs. read more

This store is now under new ownership and they have a new policy that everyone needs to be aware of. The new policy is "The Customer is NEVER right." Everyone who knows me knows that we used to frequent this place all seasons of the year and we likely spent between $350 and $500 per year at this specific location under the previous owner. The new owner took possession of the store in late 2018 and this is his way to promote his business; assume that every customer is a liar. This is my way of letting this new owner and Cold Stone Creamery corporate know that I do not want my money back, I do not want my purchase replaced; I will never shop at this or any other Cold Stone Creamery location and I will let anyone and everyone I know or meet know the poor customer service that was offered at this location. On Friday April 12, 2019 I ordered a large take home container with two ice creams mixed and asked for almonds as the mix-in. At the time the young man was preparing my order something did not look correct so I asked if he was sure that was actually almonds. He assured me that they were and I did not think any more about it. Later that night at home I scooped some of the ice cream for my wife and after her first bite she complained that this did not have almonds in it and maybe it was pecans because it was definitely bitter. I told her not to eat anymore and that I would take it back to the store for replacement. On Monday April 15, 2019 I called the telephone number on my receipt and asked for the manager. The person on the telephone said that he was and asked how he could help me. I explained the situation and he told me that I could just bring in the receipt and he would make things right. About 20 minutes later I arrived at the store with receipt and asked to speak to the manager. An older man was called from the back and immediately took a defensive attitude. He informed me that his son was the one who took care of me on Friday and he remembered me after the telephone call. He said that his son told him that he made my order correctly and that he believed his son and not me. I was obviously taken aback by this and asked if now he wanted me to go home and retrieve the ice cream which would mean multiple trips back and forth and he indicated that I would have to if I wanted any satisfaction. I commented about him paying my gasoline for the multiple trips and then I retracted my request. Upon returning home I retrieved the container of ice cream and then delivered it back to the store placing it on the counter in front of the son and asked him to give it to his father. I will no longer be purchasing ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. I will no longer be purchasing ice cream cakes at Cold Stone Creamery. This summer my family and I will start travelling past Cold Stone Creamery to purchase ice cream at Graeter's. This summer and fall my family will travel past Cold Stone Creamery to purchase cakes at The Suisse Shop. read more

My family and I went to this location to redeem coupons for a free kiddie size. The manager Sophia was beyond rude, telling us she couldn't redeem the coupons or she would get in trouble. They were valid at the location, they had not expired, and we were within the coupon regulations. It seemed like she simply didn't want to lose the money. While the ice cream was decent, the service was lacking. I took my son here because he wanted to use his gift card. He told the employee what he wanted, but he was never asked if he wanted his ice cream in a cone or not and put it in a cup. Our service was mediocre. Both guys working the counter were difficult to understand. However, the real problem was that our SUV was broken into while we were eating! It was parked just outside the door. The parking lot is VERY dark. The neon lights for the Creamery were off. Someone smashed my window, stole my son's ipad and my purse hidden under a coat (our fault for leaving it in the car). When we returned to the restaurant with our scared and crying children, the employees' only response was "we don't have security cameras." No offer to use a phone or anything. This is inside Columbus city limits, and frankly, the police have bigger problems to address. It's outside of the security of the Polaris Mall across the street. I sent an email to the Cold Stone corporate office yesterday, and have yet to be addressed. Be careful, the broken glass from my window is still probably littered across the parking lot. read more
