The location is right across the entrance to the mall area. The line can get quite long, and there are a few tables outside and inside. The store is small, so seating is limited. From the outside, it can be hard to see the menu due to the colorful flags and lights that are kinda down low. So you have to wait until you're in the store towards the front to see the whole menus. You can taste samples and I love that they give you a metal spoon instead of a plastic one, and there's a bin to put the used spoons. The staff is friendly. They do have seasonal flavors so be out the lookout for that. They do have some other goodies by the exit door you can purchase as well.

They have many interesting drinks but they are not actually bubble teas. I would consider them desserts. I ordered the combo menu item #2 and #9. The desserts were excellent with chewy green colored fruit, red bean and taro. This desserts were quite thick so I would ask for more ice.

I already loved Jenni's ice cream but hadn't been to an actual shop. That being said, I absolutely loved this place! The staff answered all my questions and let me sample several ice creams. The waffle bowls here are unmatched. I loved the wildberry lavender and Butter cake flavors the best. Note that indoor seating is limited but there's room out front.

Dairy free Texas sheet cake!

Came to Jeni 's ice cream after dinner with my girlfriends. I'm not able to do dairy so I was looking for a dairy free option and they had at least 4 to 5 different dairy free choices. I got the dairy free Texas sheet cake. I would highly recommend. Prices were a little expensive 5.25 for a single scoop, But the five dollars was definitely worth it. They are still doing no sampling of the flavors but it is nice that you can get two or 3 different flavors for your 5.25. There is a small section outside for some outdoor seating. Definitely a great spot to go after dinner with friends or family.

Our server was fantastic, she was so kind, offered samples, gave stickers to kids, she did an amazing job and very fast. Plus of course the ice cream is always delicious!

A Columbus staple. I rarely can pass up a chance for Some Jeni's. Always high quality ingredients with fantastic service. I recommend the trio and trying three different flavors. The Bramble berry crisp and the classic vanilla are my two personal favorites.

I always love seeing and trying all the new and unique ice cream flavors that Jeni's has to offer. They are so bold and clever with their creations that you can't help but want to try them all. The minute you walk into the shop you're immediately whisked away into scents of freshly made waffle cones and sweet ice cream. And it's so good.

I got the trio ($6) and split it with a friend. We got the darkest chocolate, gooey butter cake, and salty caramel. All three were delicious but I loved the gooey butter cake! Ice cream is smooth, creamy, and very flavorful.

I'm not gonna lie...Jeni's is one of my favorite ice cream stores and I haven't had many ice creams on par with their quality in my life. Their ice cream is always so creamy, and that honestly baffles me. How can ice cream be so smooth and melt so beautifully in my mouth? Their permanent flavors are solid and my favorites would have to be cream puff and the dark chocolate. I always make sure to try the limited time flavors when they are available and am rarely disappointed. Make sure you try all the flavors you want! The workers will gladly give you a bit of the flavors of your choice on a small metal spoon. The only thing I would suggest is to make the ice creams less sweet so the flavors can shine through even more. That might be a personal preference though... Unfortunately, Jeni's is quite expensive. Having to pay nearly $5 for two half scoops of ice cream feels a bit exorbitant every time, but I guess the quality matches the price. Parking can also be a bit difficult in the evenings when literally every spot in the parking lot behind this strip is taken...but it really depends on your luck I guess. Tip: Go on your birthday for free ice cream! You can even get a trio. ;) Ice Cream Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 4/5

Oh, Jeni's, you are truly splendid as your name states! This is one of their smaller shops, and there isn't much seating inside. There is street parking in front (tricky), but there is a large lot in the back that usually has plenty of parking. Inside they have a freezer case behind the counter with pre-packaged pints as well as the usual ice cream case with all the flavors displayed. Ask for a complimentary sample of as many as you want. The sample is served on a metal spoon (classy!). The staff were fairly friendly. One staff member was very smiley and friendly while the other was friendly but in a more stoic way. The quality of their ice cream is out of this world. Absolutely top notch quality ingredients and flavors ranging from standard to unique. This time we tried the lemon-blueberry sorbet, the cream puff, and the cookies 'n' cream flavors. All I can say is WOW! The lemon-blueberry was chock full of real blueberries and a perfect level of lemony tartness. The cream puff had a very mild, custardy flavor with soft chunks of pastry throughout. The cookies and cream had large and awesome cookie chunks in a marvelously creamy and chocolatey ice cream. It was all served in a modern square to-go dish with a triangle wafer cookie. If you want another flavor recommendation go for the Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet. Out of this world! Tip: If you come on your actual birthday (like I did) a trio of three mini scoops dish will be yours with Jeni's compliments! A very generous offering. Jeni's is a Columbus original that has spread across the country, and it's absolutely delicious, extraordinarily high quality, awesome ice cream! Run, don't walk, to your nearest Jeni's today and try some!

The more I go to Jeni's the more impressed I am. They used to not have any dairy free options. I remember the first time I visited Jeni's at the Short North location and they had one vegan option. Now, they got a handful of dairy free choices! I tried the almond milk cortado. I saw the sign outside advertising it as my friend and I walked to the door. We came around 7:15 on a Friday and there was a line inside. A few people were sitting outside. It was mostly families, groups of friends, and a few couples who came in. I got the scoop of almond milk cortado in a cone. So yummy!! My friend got salted Carmel but regretted her choice as the waffle cone made the ice cream taste even saltier. My ice cream seemed to have a different texture than regular ice cream. It didn't have the same creaminess or smoothness as dairy ice cream. Still good, but I have a hard time describing the experience well. It was different for sure. It didn't melt as quickly as my friend's did. I thought that was interesting. My other two friends came in about ten to fifteen minutes later and shared a scoop of honey vanilla and another of brambleberry. They melted fast! Again, there must be some sort of element that makes dairy ice cream melt quickly. Unless I just ate my ice cream too fast? Anyway, service was good! They're always attentive as to who is walking in no matter how busy the counter gets. You can ask for water from behind the counter as well. It's free. We sat inside by the window. It was the only table in there aside from a long bar table attached to one side of the wall. Love it here!

The location is pretty, spacious and clean. The staff is kind and informative. Lots of seating inside and out. You can also order drinks and pints at this location.

Tried the new black ice cream, Opaque and it was delicious! Tasted like an undercooked brownie with a cherry sauce.

Great meals with philosophical friends (2 of 2)…read more Rarely am I in Midwestern capital cities with beltways around them, but I do have a few friends from years ago who do live in this city's suburbs. I once ate at their famed German restaurant with the lunch buffet and the extra cost cream puffs with an Italian-American friend who is sort of an Archie Bunker with an MBA. He provides the entertainment. The last time I ate lunch in C-bus with that good friend was before the pandemic. I believe that the lunch buffet has returned to that German restaurant, but I can wait to do that on some other trip. On this last go round, I met up for lunch with a different friend with whom you can discuss the human condition ad nauseam, which is somewhat of a good thing. It's a good thing because there aren't many people who are capable of doing that and who will engage in that. However, when you wrap up such involved discussions, you might feel a little overwhelmed for a while! I got to choose the restaurant ... from out of town. I didn't like the choices with which I was presented and the only area of town I really know is the Polaris area around Ikea. I looked up listings and recommendations. Chocolate Cafe' had two things under its belt from the get-go. It's a high scoring bistro-cafe that has a noteworthy breakfast and lunch following and it has the word "chocolate" in its name. It's in that area near the Barnes and Noble west of the big state university with its logo featuring a branch that looks like a marijuana leaf. I have since learned it's not a marijuana leaf. We ordered lunch, with one entree being a Cobb salad and the other being one of their club sandwiches, the latter of which was mine. It was very good and, as is often the case with me, I could have eaten a bigger sandwich. I went through it fairly quickly, even though I did have the small and cheap Swedish breakfast at Ikea that morning. With the entrees, we ordered bowls of their popular tomato basil soup, which really hit the spot on that cold day. To drink, we ordered house coffee and a hot chocolate. The house coffee is refillable while the hot chocolate is not, but that's standard protocol just about anywhere. With a name like Chocolate Cafe,' we did not order dessert. My friend left first and I stayed behind to look at the dessert case. I later caved in for a slice of their moist and rich chocolate fudge cake to take with me. Like I said, it was moist and rich ... and also very tasty and filling. The pricing here is standard and appropriate. The service was folksy and very attentive, despite their being full on a weekend approaching the holidays. The interior is bright because of the floor-to-ceiling windows around the perimeter of the restaurant. That really scores points with me. Lastly, upon pulling in, the parking lot was full and I had to park a short walk away, all the while paying attention to parking signs and rules. This implied that Chocolate Cafe' was most likely a good place ... and that was corroborated. I have never driven down I-71 into this city's center once past its beltway. I have doglegged and taken Highway 315 - the Olentangy River Parkway. At its top end, it winds a little and it's slightly scenic. As you start approaching OSU, all these different medical towers with different specialties loom over you ... from both sides of the road! It's similar to the feeling one gets when they drive past the Texas Medical Center south of downtown Houston, as in, "What a maze ... why so many damn medical buildings?" But that doesn't affect their rating. It's just a personal pet peeve. I'm going to go with 4.5 stars for Chocolate Cafe', which obviously rounds up to 5 stars. It makes for an interesting meal and experience and, while I would not repeat it like clockwork because of how rich it can be, I could definitely see repeating it if I lived in its general area. My friend said he would be coming back with family members. That said, you clearly see two seals of approval.

Chocolate Café is hands-down one of my favorite local spots whenever I'm craving something sweet or…read morea drink. My absolute go-to is their chocolate espresso martini -- and it never disappoints. The chocolate-rimmed glass instantly sets it apart from anywhere else, and every sip is the perfect balance of rich chocolate and bold espresso. It's smooth, indulgent, and honestly feels like dessert in a glass. The price point is great too, which makes it even easier to treat yourself. I also love picking up a few of their smaller desserts like the buckeyes and chocolate peanut butter pretzels. They're decadent, satisfying, and made with love. Their cakes and other items are beautifully made as well. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which really adds to the overall experience. They also offer a variety of food entrées that I haven't tried yet, but every dish I see coming out to nearby tables looks fresh, beautifully plated, and incredibly tempting. It's definitely next on my list.
