Heard about this 'must stop' ice cream chain from an Ohio native friend. I expected it to be very good but it exceeded expectations. Besides excellent ice cream, what really makes it stand out is the chocolate- chips and chunks. Everyone in our party had something that included this delectable chocolate. Graeters make their own chocolate chips/chunks by taking a high quality chocolate, melting it and adding it at the end of the churning process. Perfection! We had mocha chips, mint chocolate chip, buckeye blitz chocolate chip, and peanut butter chip. I was impressed by the staff, who despite a late line out the door Sunday afternoon, still had smiles on their faces, were kind and helpful, and actually seemed to enjoy being there. It was quite crowded so not my favorite environment, but hey, that's what happens when you're good at what you do! read more

Customer service at this location was awesome! The ice cream was really good. My only set-back or thing I am a little peeved with Greater's on is that the 1870s tower used to be HUGE. We ended up getting the 1870s tower and added a secondary scoop for 50 cents more so that it was more sharable between my Hubby and I. Years ago though, this thing was a "tower" of cake and ice cream... now it should be called/renamed the 1870s flat or the 1870s short-stack because the amount of cake they give you now is literally a quarter of the size. I do not blame the workers there though... Even the pictures of it have changed. However, regardless of the size change, it did taste great and we chose double chocolate chip ice cream and cookie dough ice cream on top. It was pretty good, though in the future, I will probably just do the ice cream in a cone. read more

I enjoyed the Caramel Macchiato flavor with rich coffee flavor. The line always moves fast at Graeter's. Lots of friendly, happy servers here. Parking is a bit tough in their lot so look for a space in the surrounding lots or streets. I was disappointed that I had to download their app to continue with their loyalty program, but was assured that I could link my physical card with my new account. Not the case, unforatunately. I LOVE GRAETERS ICE CREAM!!! Not gonna lie, it's better than JP licks, Ben and Jerry's and Haagen Daz. I still think Cold Stone is superior though lol. At Graeters, my friend and I ordered the black raspberry flavor and Vienna coffee flavor. 9 outta 10 times when I get ice cream, I order mint Oreo but my friend said black raspberry was really good. So we tried samples and oh my goodness I can't describe the taste with words. You must try it!!! The server was very nice and let us try 5 different flavors! All were pretty good! I didn't get the mint flavor think time because it tasted a bit TOO minty. The caramel macchiato flavor is quite sweet. The s'mores flavor is very good too but also very sweet. Y'all know it's just about peach season, and my favorite treat at Graeter's is the peach. My friends and I visited during the Picnic with the Partnership this past weekend for a treat. This location has a small shared parking lot on High Street, plus street parking. There were plenty of friendly staff in the shop. They also have a small cooler for pints and, get this, doggie ice cream! I was not ready to go or Little Madame may have gotten some of the latter. You're always able to sample a flavor or two, and they have some set sundae creations. I think the prices are relatively reasonable. Graeter's is a solid bet for Columbus ice cream. read more

I grew up on graeters and didn't realize how good I had it until I moved away. This is honestly the best ice cream. The flavors with chocolate chunks in them are of course the best. This location is always consistent but our experience today was truly worth 5 stars. Upon entering the building we were greeted by a very nice guy who offered us samples and explained more about flavors as we asked. He really took the time to help us and make sure we each got something we enjoyed. The ice cream was a treat as always. My favorite is of course black raspberry chip, but I decided to get something different this time. Three of us ordered: Peanut butter chip: light and subtle peanut butter flavor with milk chocolate chunks. I got whipped cream too which is heavier than other whipped cream but I love it so much. S'mores: graham cracker flavored ice cream, with milk chocolate and marshmallow. Absolutely delicious!!! Coconut chocolate chip: truly excellent if you like coconut. I had purchased a coupon book for a fundraising event and tonight I was told that their buy one get one free coupons were for cones only and could not be used for cups. If there's a Graeter's Ice Cream shop near you- every day you don't go in and get a cone you're punishing yourself. There are other locations that allow you to watch the magic happen and see the small batches of ice cream made right at the store. There are so many flavors to choose from, and each month there is a specialty flavor to make your visit even better. My favorite is Blackberry Chocolate Chunk, and I have been known to sneak out and have a scoop more often than I should. This is June and they have a special Peach flavor that is so creamy...oh my goodness it's good. There were CHUNKS of peaches, I mean CHUNKS, big hunks and slices throughout the generous scoops they give. The prices are competitive with other ice cream specialty shops, and they have the usual dessert options you'd find at other shops too: banana splits, fudge brownie everything and more chocolate, sprinkles and cones to spare. This location on High Street in Worthington isn't one that has the viewing area to see everything made, but it has plenty of seating. There is a small parking lot on the side, street parking is available and there is another public free parking lot just down the street. Personal story: When I deployed in 2010 I took 2 hats with me that were not military issued: My black, Woody Hayes Block O hat and a blue Graeter's ball cap. Every once in a while someone from Columbus, Cincinnati or the other spots in the Midwest would see it and react the same way: their eyes would widen while a smile crept onto their face, quickly followed by "I love that Ice Cream!" I remember Graeter's coming to Columbus. Old-school flavors and atmosphere, slightly high prices, and cheerful high school kids serving. Hasn't really changed, and the experience is pretty much the same at all locations. I thought we'd been to this one, but nope. Met a friend here, got the usual good service and great ice cream. I had one of their smoothies. I've been leaning towards those lately- refreshing, and easier to handle while corralling a toddler. Parking can be nuts, but late on a Sunday it wasn't too bad. "Perfect Indulgence" is lactose-free and I could not be more disappointed after getting 2 pints delivered. The vanilla bean was awful and I tossed it immediately. Cookies & cream was chalky with a terrible sweetness. The product name should be clear that it is lactose free like "Lactose-Free" or "No Cow" or "Milk-less". I scrolled through the long menu and was hurrying to place the order. I thought that perfect indulgence might be a richer or upgraded version of the regular flavors. I am a big fan of Graeter's and have been going once or twice a week this summer. I normally frequent the Bexley location since I'll pick up a few scoops after church. However, I was in Worthington and wanted a sweet treat after Adoration at St. Michael's. This Graeter's is just down the street from St. Michael's, so I stopped in for to-go snack! The parking lot there is tiny, but I was able to find what was probably the last spot. There is also street parking available. There were many associates working and I initially was wondering what was taking so long since there was only one woman in front of me in line. Then after paying closer attention, I realized that most of the associates were there being trained, so it made more sense. I definitely am patient when I know that someone is taking the time to learn the job and I don't ever want them to feel rushed! I was able to get my scoops of Buckeye Blitz and Peanut Butter Chip and really enjoyed it when I got home! YUM! If you haven't experienced Graeter's before, then know that you're in for some of the best ice cream you've ever tasted! Smooth, creamy, delicious flavor and MASSIVE chocolate chunks! I also enjoy the Double Chocolate Chip, Black Raspberry Chip and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. You really can never go wrong and they will let you taste test all the flavors! The Worthington Graeter's is the closest to an old-fashioned ice cream parlor as I have found (as far as Graeters goes) in the Columbus area. It's charming- just like Olde Worthington. It's traditional. It's family-friendly. It's down-right yummy! I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to defining the atmosphere of a place but this has a nice vintage feel to it, enough to invoke a slight nostalgia, which I embrace whole-heartedly. I'm OK with the ice cream parlor experience this Graeters provides- if that's what you want. I just go for the ice cream! I think it's perfectly fine to enjoy traditional flavors, while remaining open-minded about new ice cream concepts. With that said, go to Graeters if you want fabulous-flavored, traditional ice cream and sorbet. My favorite is Cookies and Cream, but Graeters is best known for its variety of 'chip' flavors (my husband is addicted to the Mint chocolate chip). I first experienced Graeters when I moved to Worthington 12 years ago and it became my instant favorite ice cream. Still is... For a very long time, I believed Graeters was a Columbus phenomena, but eventually learned it a chain based out of Cincinnati. I was somewhat disappointed about that. but if it's good- it's good! With Jeni's ruling the landscape I consider Graeter's my 'comfort ice cream.' Comfort to me is a milkshake with chocolate ice cream AND chocolate syrup! I wish it could be in chocolate milk too in a chocolate glass but no---I can only dream. It has a nice location in downtown Worthington south of the square. A smaller store than my usual one on Bethel, the line can easily reach out the door on a hot day. But it moves relatively quickly. Graeters is well known so I won't dwell on their attributes except to say this store doesn't stray from their high standards: solid creamy dips made of real milk and toppings. It's not as exciting adventure as Jeni's, the flavors are the Tom, Dick, and Harry of Ice Cream, but for paleo-freeze it is top knotch. read more

It really just keeps getting better. Ive been living here 5 months now and ive already gotten sweet rewards 3x now. I come here 1-3 times a week and Ive been trying to order something different every time. Ive tried the cookies n cream, mint choc chip, peach, choc cherry, raspberry chic, butter pecan, strawberry, blue berry pie, cookie dough, milkshakes, and a bunch of different kinds of chocoaltes. My favorite was blue berry pie up until they came out with Mexican Chocolate....I went back 3 days in a row just to order that flavor again and again. I know its seasonal but maybe they'll decide to keep it around longer. One could only hope!! All of their ice cream is just as yummy with a few that really end up surprising you. Mint choc chip was neevr a favorite of mine but last week I was craving something different. They handed me this white ice cream with choc chunks in it....I almost handed it back (it wasnt green..) but decided to try it. I couldnt believe it was white! I adore graters for their mint chocolate chip ice cream because of their lack of green coloring. I thought it was weird at first because everyone else makes their mint chocolate chip ice cream with a green color but after tasting and knowing the pure ingredients in this ice cream , i can't go back. I know some of you go for Jeni's (which is equally and differently amazing) and other local ice digs, but for me the large servings, and chocolate chunks (that are comparable to an entire chocolate bar) win me over whenever I go out for that delectable treat. This is my favorite of all Graeter's locations. They keep it clean, the servers are speedy, and when you ask for your milkshake to be thick, you need a spoon to eat it, which is exactly how I like mine. For an extra kick, ask for a shot of vanilla syrup in whatever milkshake you get. Since Jeni's moved in down the road, it's not as busy as it used to be, and that's a good thing in my opinion since it means there are more tables available. If you don't like kids, go early or late, because the place is thick with them after school until about 8. And make sure you give the seasonal flavors a try. The peach, strawberry chip, and banana cream pie have been some of their best offerings and they aren't available all year. read more

This probably would have been a 5 star review if it hadn't been for a previous visit the weekend before that still stuck in my mind. Came here with some out of town friends I hadn't seen in a long time after a dinner up near Polaris. I had a scoop of blueberry pie and strawberry and both were amazing and tasted just like the names implied. The store it self is cute but a little bland but then again who goes and gets ice cream and sits inside? They have plenty of seating outside which is fairly important in any ice cream shop in my humble opinion. I was judgmental of you from all the bad Yuppie drivers who cut me off, or almost caused crashes, so they could make their way to Graeters, and I vowed to ignore all contact with Graeters ice-cream, or any of their establishments. However, I was in Worthington and had some time to kill before a nail appointment, so the boy took me into Graeters for some ice-cream. I ordered the personal favorite of Chocolate Chip Cookie dough in a waffle cone. Here's where I was blown away. Yes, the Ice-cream itself was nothing ridiculously out of this world, or anything, but the cookie dough was NOT fake, and was so soft and delicious without being sugar, or gritty like. Also, for once in my life, the chocolate chips were soft, and fudge like almost. Now most times when order ice-cream with chocolate chips in it, you usually get hard crunchy bits of chocolate, which I'm surprised they haven't broken my teeth out, and usually the taste of chocolate is lost from the cold temperature of the ice-cream. I don't know what kind of science Graeters is bringing to the frozen dessert table, but they have managed to conquer chocolate chips and cookie dough in a vanilla ice-cream on top of a waffle cone. I would gladly stop by again. There was plenty of seating in here, and open room, and thanks to the yuppies who would rather be outside sniffing carbon monoxide from all the cars and traffic jams of Worthington market weekend, I got the whole place to myself. Huge fan of Graeter's Ice Cream. I'm from KC and believe this is a fantastic ending to any meal. I don't know that it's the best I've ever had, but it's quality hand dipped ice cream, nice and creamy. I always go for the hand dipped ice cream in a waffle cone. But I did recently notice they also have fruit smoothies, yogurt smoothies and blended coffee drinks too. They even have a vegan ice cream/yogurt too. pretty average ice cream here. tastes like sugar and milk. It reminded me of Breyers - not particularly rich or flavorful, mostly just milky. I got the Strawberry Chip flavor, and I was happy that there were actual strawberry chunks, albeit small ones. However, I could barely taste the strawberry unless I got a chunk! It was kind of weird. The chocolate chips were anything but chips. Instead, they were giant chunks of chocolate. Which normally would be totally awesome, but these were kind of squishy weird chocolate pieces - more like fudge, which isn't really my thing. I expected a little crunch and more dense flavor pockets from such large chocolate pieces, but it didn't really end up that way. Like fudge, it tasted more like butter and sugar than like chocolate. Their fresh waffle cones are crunchy - which is good for holding up to the huge scoops of ice cream. And they have a really good flavor, unlike your standard store-bought cone. Overall, I don't really get the hype. People told me that Graeter's was better than Jeni's*. Honestly, those people are delusional. It's cheaper than Jeni's definitely, and they have more standard ice cream flavors. But I wouldn't really call them flavors since they didn't seem very flavorful. I expected outstanding classic flavors, but instead they were just okay. *this is like saying JP Licks is better than Tosci's (in Boston). it's just not true. But JP Licks has much better "classic" flavors than Graeter's. Bummer. I was hoping for a replacement economy ice cream brand. read more

Pretty good quality ice cream, average size scoops. Limited flavor selection, but the flavors themselves are quite tasty. Their menu separates ice cream into flavors with and without chips, so I was expecting the chips to be special. Not only are they milk chocolate instead of dark, but they're chewy instead of crunchy. I've never had chips like that in ice cream and I never want to again. (The toffee pieces in the toffee ice cream were also not crunchy. I expected a flavor like toffee chip to be full of crunch and it tasted like it was left out in the rain.) read more

I really enjoy Graeter's Ice Cream! I can't eat some of the signature flavors due to my peanut allergy, but I really love the cookie dough and the black raspberry. The best part of Graeter's are the chocolate chunks that are mixed in. These are not just some little tiny chips like most other ice creams, these are really big chunks! The quality of the ice cream is always spot on and consistent which I appreciate. I don't go out of ice cream very often, but if we do this is our favorite place.
