It was very tender with a perfect "crumb" and used real strawberries. The buttercream frosting was right on point-definitely top quality. The cake was wonderfully decorated. I've included a picture. I visited the new location with my family on a Saturday afternoon. It's literally two doors down from the old one. I love, love, love the new look. The owner greeted us and was extremely patient and attentive to me and my kids. She gave details of whatever we asked about and made suggestions. SO much to choose from. They even have coffee and spirits infused cupcake options. The kids got a cake pop and freeze dried candy. I looked over the menu and IG page and wanted to try the Blackout! My fiance was given the suggestion to try the All Dolled Up. I also ordered a cookie dough donut. The donut was delicious, of course. I asked for a fork, and they gave us these pretty rainbow colored forks. Super cute! I didn't love how much lime the Blackout had, but it was so cute, lol My fiance didn't mind it, so we swapped. The owner checked in on us, asking how everything was. I gave my opinion, and she offered me the All Dolled Up on the house. How sweet?! Also, my son dropped his cake pop, hugging the GIANT gummy bear decor. MELTDOWN!!! She replaced it when she realized what had happened. We chilled for a second to enjoy our treats , drinks, and even a little football on the TVs. Excellent customer service. Nice place to grab something sweet for the kids or even yourself. I ordered a custom churro flavored cake for my husband's birthday, and it was perfect! Decorations were exactly what I wanted (simple, focusing on flavor) and the cake tasted INCREDIBLE. Super rich and tasted exactly like a fresh churro. I'm not a fan of frosting in general (I usually scrape it off and just eat the cake, heretical I know) but even I concede that it was phenomenal. I'll start by saying that I've only experienced Sugar Rush once and it was specifically for their cupcakes. My friend's boyfriend put an order in for us and even delivered them. He's a sweetie. I got a lemon blueberry cupcake with blueberry icing and I couldn't put it down. There were whole blueberries inside, sort of like a muffin, but it was all cake. It was gone in a flash. My friend went with the red velvet and raved about it as well. I'm not in the Reynoldsburg area very often but I know my first cupcake from here won't be my last. read more

The cowboy cookie? Let's just say, it should've stayed on the ranch--way too salty! But the pineapple upside-down cookie cake? Absolute heaven. Definitely recommend that one. As for the cupcakes and cakes, they were both delicious--those alone are worth the trip. The ambiance is really cool too. I love the colors, and they've got a pinball machine that adds a fun, modern vibe to the whole place. Definitely a spot with a unique, playful theme. Would I go back? Absolutely. Got a cake this past Friday and had it today everyone loved it. Not over powering with sweetness and was the perfect amount of icing. Really cute little shop inside of a strip mall. Definitely pay attention to the writing on the doors as their building sign isn't currently up. They were happy to do a custom order - and even went as far as to purchase a mold specifically for the custom order we made. The order was entirely ordered over the phone with no issue - and we just came in later and picked it up. Everyone was super friendly when I came to pick up the treat. It was perfectly packaged and very fresh (made that morning!). It survived a car trip easily. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious too. Their Chocolate tastes like a standard Chocolate (more cocoa-based than some?), so if you have the chance, go for their unique flavor options. I definitely recommend their Cookies and Cream sponge flavor for a unique flavor compared to most baked goods. Cupcakes have stayed good and fresh for over a week now in their original packaging from Sugar Rush. Definitely would order here again! Buyer beware --- these folks are not professionals and are frankly, unkind.... Very disappointed in not only the cake we received but the customer service. I ordered a $200+ two-tier cake for my daughter's birthday. While I was appreciative that they were able to give me a cake within a week notice the end product was disappointing. Not only was the cake nearly falling over after one hour out of the refrigerator, the icing was behind the writing of her name on the cake was a different dark color and looked botched. And frankly , the piping did not look professional. I could've overlooked the piping had everything else not been a disaster. When we took the top tier off, we found a support rod in the top tier and a support rod in the bottom tier but nothing that went through the entirety of the cake (see photos of the separate rods not connected and not going through both tiers) I emailed the business and they seemed apologetic and assured that they would call me to discuss and when they didn't call me within a week I emailed again with no response. Today I called them to discuss it and they gave me a story that some child was in a hospital so that's why they didn't get back to me. That may have been the case, and of course, a very unfortunate situation, but it seemed as though they were trying to guilt me about their lack of communication instead of being accountable to anything. When I started discussing the issues what we had with the cake, they were very defensive. They told me that having dark splotches all over the icing was normal, even though it aesthetically ruined the cake, and as I was telling them about the lack of support in the cake to keep it from leaning, someone was in the background saying that oh I saw them put it through and the very rude gentleman on the phone told me "I don't want call you a liar but..." I would never order a cake if I didn't want pay the price for it so this wasn't about getting money from them but a legitimate grievance to which they took no responsibility. In fact, they got defensive and extremely rude on the phone that I told them I could no longer engage in the conversation and ended the phone call because they were being nasty and I will not tolerate being spoken to like that and called a liar. As any mom would, I went to great lengths to organize a wonderful birthday party, and the cake was supposed to be the centerpiece, but this shop failed to deliver what they said they would with the cake, and also had a lack of politeness and customer service. Do yourself a favor and find a more reputable cake shop that does professional work and provides basic customer service. read more

The Peppermint and marshmallow topping on the Hot Cocoa cookie made it feel fresh and innovative. The chai tea cookie was fresh and gooey on the inside. Would have been fun to try warmed up. Got Cake?! Sugar Rush does!! I've ordered two birthday cakes from here and I've been impressed with both. I opted for them to freestyle the cakes with my desired theme. One cake was vanilla and the other confetti! There cakes are seriously delicious and some of the best Ive tasted. Both cakes were super fresh (soft and moist)and kept well if you store it properly. The buttercream is perfect as well. It's solid like butter and not hard like other traditional butter creams. The inside of the cake is 4 thick layers which goes a long way when serving. I would recommend asking the best method to cut it so you don't butcher it or cause it to fall to one side. Their cakes comes in a nice sturdy box which makes it easy to carry and store in your fridge without messing it up. These cakes will cost you a bit more than what you'll pay at a grocery store, but it's so worth it it. These cakes are fresh not frozen like store cakes, taste great and you can get any design you want. A themed cake will cost you about $100. Again, you won't be disappointed. Sugar rush offers other treats such as candies, cookies, cupcakes etc. I have tried the cupcakes and they have some really good flavors. The blueberry lemon was a fav, but to be honest the cupcakes-cake was just ok for me. Cupcakes can be a bit more dryer bc they are small. Again, their cakes are amazing in design and flavor!! He took time to sit with me, gave suggestions - which his suggestions were perfect for flavors. Cake was ready exactly on time of pick up, super easy ordering process. Very clean, cute bakery. Display case stocked with goodies & cute creations. It was a little pricey cake - $110 - but when we tasted the cake (almond & chocolate layers), best tasting cake we have ever had! You can tell he spares no expense on ingredients used. Icing layers were done perfect - tasted amazing too. They provide very nice travel boxes for the cakes, allowing easy transport. What a find!!! I stumbled across this place as I was visiting a nearby store and was thrilled upon walking in. The place is SO cute, and their treats are gorgeous. I was so excited to find such a great place on the eastside of Columbus! Items we've tried so far- Vanilla cake pop, chocolate cakesicle, pistachio macarons, vanilla tie-dye macarons, buckeye cupcakes, the whipped frosting cookies and cream cupcakes, and fruity pebbles cupcakes. We have enjoyed everything, but our two favorite things were the cookies and cream and buckeye cupcakes. Wowowow!! I'll definitely be ordering my husband's cookies and cream birthday cake from here! The only thing I didn't love was the macarons, but that's because I'm a little picky with macaron flavors and don't like them to be overly sweet. The macs were beautiful and well made, just a little too sweet for my taste. But the kids and my husband loved them. I saw on their Instagram page that back in December they had a cake decorating class to learn to decorate a drip cake, and I hope they do more events like that in the future because I would LOVE to attend! I found this cute shop on our neighborhood Facebook page. There isn't a sign on top of the building, but the windows are decorated and the door is clearly labeled. The decor was a colorful candy shop. They have a lot of different cupcakes to choose from and many other sweet treats. We started with 6 cupcakes and loved them all. The only issue was we ate them before they made it to room temp, but a quick zap in the microwave for 5 seconds, made them moist and yummy. I have to give Sugar Rush 2 stars. To start off when I got to the store I noticed there were 2 Sugar Rush stores. I was confused as to which one to go to, but luckily I walked into the correct one. I think you should make it not confusing for new people mistakenly going to the wrong store. I see it is your new location spot, probably bigger space. Lots of food choices from cupcakes, cakes, cookies, cake pops, and adult drinks. The gentleman that was working was really nice and had great attitude. There were three other females working and they weren't friendly ( no smiles ). I'm big on how people are treating customers and employees. I saw someone walked up to the adult bar area asking for something and they were completely being ignored. I thought that was rude. Anyways I order 1 thing and that was a slice of rainbow cake. The cake took FOREVER to come out. I was sitting and waiting and waiting.... Y'all it took them 10min to cut a slice of cake and to drizzle icing on the plate. It was cute presentation and the retro fork was a nice added touch. But for real nobody doesn't want to wait 10min for a slice. There were only 4 families in there at that time. Another issue while eating my cake was, if you are making a place to not only cater to everyone with children present. You shouldn't be playing music that has offensive cuss words. We came for cupcakes, cake pops, and cocoa bombs. After two small milkshakes, 9 cupcakes, a chocolate bomb, and two cake pops we spent $54 dollars. The place is cute and the owner is super nice but we had two gripes. First, the cupcakes fell apart badly and were very crumbly. Second, our $11 small milkshake was half whipped cream. That was a Major bummer. This is a really cute store and definitely worth a visit but that will be our only stop for just fun. Everyone was booked but Sugar Rush had no issues helping me out. I ordered an awesome cake for my fiancé's 50th birthday and people at his birthday dinner absolutely loved the cake! We ordered a number cake with the '5' in lemon and the '0' in salted caramel. You can have them put whatever you want on the cake.
