Fate Cakes is amazing!!! Not only are they responsive, talented, and delicious, but Marie was SO sweet and welcoming. I sent in a picture of a Mamma Mia themed cake from Pinterest and she recreated it almost exactly, but somehow even better. The cake itself tasted as good as it looked and everyone at the party was literally in awe. I will DEFINITELY be back for every future birthday or party cake. read more

It's nice having a brick and mortar location to come get Fate Cake's cookies. When done to my personal likeness - EXTRA SOFT AND GOOEY*, it'll be nice to not have to drive all the way to Linworth for a sweet treat! *I should explain: I first stopped at HTH Market for Fate's cookies, as I saw on her IG she delivers there. My stop was not planned, but I was absolutely elated when I saw several of their cookes - soft and gooey, lined up on the side counter. They were so unbelievably soft, morsels of pure joy. Assuming that's the standard MO, I ordered some of her cookies for a pick-up date at the same farmers market. However, those cookies were not very gooey and soft, as my firsts. I was a bit bummed, but decided to not give up. Thus, this third FC encounter came to be. I haven't tried Marie's cupcakes, cakes or cheesecakes (freaking CCCs keep drawing me in - hook, line and sinker), but if their anything like her cookies, I don't doubt the quality. On top of the tasty sweets, Marie is a pleasant gal, animated, and a bomb-ass baker! Congrats on the new space, FC!! read more

The cupcakes were delicious! Friendly place. A great stop to pick up a treat after school for my grandkids. I'll be back for sure!

We ordered these cupcakes for my 19th birthday! The salted caramel and the buckeye cupcakes were delectable. On the chocolate and vanilla ones, the icing was very off. Maybe it's just a personal opinion, but we didn't really like those ones at all. Other than that, the specialty cupcakes were awesome! This is our first time trying gourmet cupcakes, and it was overall pretty good! We got the "custom assortment". I say if you're looking for some unique, outside the box flavors, you should totally try Fate Cakes! read more

I have ordered from Fate Cakes a handful of times and have never been disappointed; however, they took the cake (pun intended) with my wedding cake! They have an incredible service allowing you to sample different flavors from the comfort of your home (with the cutest packaging experience!), and then for the big day they delivered at a really reasonable price. But ok let me get to the good stuff-- the cake itself! SO yum, perfectly moist, and absolutely beautiful. I will continue to work with Fates Cakes anytime I'm looking for baked goods and cannot wait to order a replica wedding cake on my one year anniversary! read more

Fate Cakes - 6" cookies and cream cake - Bakeries Near Me - Gahanna, Ohio

This is my little sister's experience with Fate Cakes: Let me start off by saying that I am a sweets connoisseur and I have visited many, many bakeries across the country on my frequent travels. I had yet to walk into a bakery and leave without making a single purchase, until today! Last wkend was my first (and last) time at Fate Cakes. Like anyone on a first time visit to a new establishment I had a few questions before deciding to place an order with Fate Cakes for my daughter's birthday. I asked the lady at the counter if they made birthday cakes and she told me, "NO! We do have cookies decorated like birthday cakes and there are a couple of toppers for the cookies." I thought this was an extremely strange response especially considering that there were cakes on display in the shop. I asked about the flavor of the slices of cake clearly on display in the case and her response was just dry and off-putting. I get that people have bad days so I just told myself that's the reason for the horrible customer service, dry responses and lies about if they make birthday cakes. I still decided to try a chocolate chip cookie and a brookie. After handing the lady my money, I asked her if she is the owner and she told me "NO" in a nasty tone. Then I asked myself; why would I want to spend my money, no matter the amount, in an establishment that treats people like this?! I told her that I decided that I didn't want anything and would like a refund. She gave me back my money and I left. I pulled Fate Cakes information back up and I called to see if the owner was available. The same lady that seemed like she was irritated by my presence in the shop was the one who answered the phone. She stated the owner wasn't available and that she was the "manager" in that same nasty tone she had while I was inquiring about the birthday cakes. At this point I had had enough of her nasty attitude and negative tone so I told her that I felt her customer service was unpleasant and that she wasn't at all helpful. Her disposition was still repulsive. I read the reviews listed here so I don't understand why I didn't receive the same 5 star service as everyone else. I've tried telling myself that it isn't because of my ethnicity but at this point, I'm actually sure that my race played a major part in my horrific experience at Fate Cakes. If not, then I wonder; what's the reason behind such terrible treatment when all I did was walk into a bakery and inquire about purchasing products?! I have NEVER had an experience remotely close to this and I frequently visit a lot of bakeries all over the country. These days businesses are not getting as much revenue due to the pandemic so one would think that top-notch customer service would be at the forefront of every business to make sure they are still making profits during these trying times, but apparently Fate Cakes didn't get that memo. I will not tolerate being disrespected and mistreated simply because of the color of my skin, especially not in the current state of this world. read more

I requested for a quote on a birthday cake for my daughter but they never responded. I then sent a follow up message and still received no response. I completely understand if they did not have the the time to make it because of prior engagements, however, they could have took time to respond to me to let me know. I will never consider them in the future for my baking needs. Thankfully, not all bakeries in the Columbus area think so little of potential customers and I am completely excited to see the product of the bakery that wanted my business!! Responsiveness: F- Customer Service: F- read more

I literally just left here less than 20 minutes ago. I purchased a few different desserts. Chocolate chip cookie, oreo cheesecake, a vanilla cake pop, a salted caramel cupcake & a vanilla cupcake. So far I've tried the chocolate chip cookie and the cake pop and they were both amazing! 10/10. I don't know the name of the woman who I was serviced by but she was very kind and gave me a rundown of everything they had in store today since it was my first time visiting. I'm excited to try my other items. I will definitely be back. read more

I ordered some cupcakes for my boyfriend to be delivered on Valentine's Day this year. Mind you, this order was placed THE DAY BEFORE VALENTINE'S DAY because time has a habit of escaping from me! Fate Cakes had an incredibly quick turnaround. They would be able to deliver the next day, so that was perfect. (Right before Valentine's Day, no less! Seriously impressive) Plus, I saw they had a deal on the website where you'd get free shipping ordering within a certain timeframe, so I went for it! Upon checkout, the free shipping deal didn't go through. I thought that was strange since I was definitely within the timeframe. So, I gave them a call (with no expectations - I was totally fine having to pay shipping anyways... at the very least, I just wanted to let them know that the deal wasn't working so they could take it down). The woman I spoke with was great. I showed her where the deal was written on the website, and she explained to me it was actually supposed to be taken off the website before that day, as the deal had expired. But, she honored it anyways and refunded me the shipping cost! Above and beyond expectations and a pleasant surprise - that is exceptional customer service! The cupcakes? Ridiculously scrumptious. 100% worth it. I will absolutely be ordering again. read more

This place is incredible! I threw my wife a surprise baby shower his past weekend. I reached out to "Fate Cakes" for some of the desserts because of so many positive reviews and there beautiful website. Let me tell you, I'm so very happy I did. Aside from the items I chooses being very reasonably priced. And the decorated items being perfect. The taste was amazing!!! I ordered 3 dozen cake pops and I should have ordered more! The red velvet cake pops are absolutely incredible! I also had custom whale cookies made with my sons name on them. Those where also a wonderful tasty treat. Marie was outstanding! I had so many questions as to what to do because I never did anything like this on my own and I needed a "woman's touch". She was spectacular. Thank you to Fate Cakes! This was an absolute success. I will be coming back for all of my baking needs! read more

Fate Cakes is fabulous; it is my bakery of choice in the greater Columbus area! In June 2020, I was looking for gourmet cupcakes that would deliver to my Ohio State University son, for his 21st birthday. I live in Chicago so had no access to local word of mouth. After carefully checking their very user-friendly website and reviews, they seemed to be the perfect choice and they definitely were! I ordered a custom assortment of Salted Caramel, Strawberry Shortcake, Red Velvet, Chocolate and Vanilla. I appreciated having so many tasty options from which to choose. My son, his flat mates and friends LOVED the cupcakes! The product is delicious and well presented and delivery is flawless. In addition, Olivia, the manager, is delightful to work with, both professional and friendly. She goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. This was particularly important to me being at a distance and for such important milestones as a 21st birthday and university graduation. Fate Cakes did such a great job the first time, I placed a larger order for my son's graduation party, in May 2021, and then again for his 22nd birthday, in June 2021, and I will definitely order again and again. Family and friends are still raving about the tasty treats from Fate Cakes. read more

We had some of her amazing cookies for my friends bachelorette party. Delicious cookies and cake! Thanks so much!

We tried the cinnamon roll and piece of Blueberry Lemon Cake. Cinnamon Roll, I recommend a LOT more cinnamon and extra cups of the icing for sale, because, well icing is the best part! Cake was delicious, but, again, recommend extra cups of icing for sale( rather than only with preorders). Now, 5 huge stars for customer service! She even waited on me before answering phone which was definitely appreciated but I gave the ok to answer phone. It's not often you find people who wait on you prior to answering phone. Thanks! read more

Poor customer service. Subpar cake. We went into Fate cakes to place an order a week before we needed the cake. We hadn't been here before and didn't have an image ready to hand over to order the cake right then. The owner was nice and explained for us to text all of the info to her business manager and to send them the image we wanted printed on the cake and we would get an invoice. Owner made it clear to pay it straight away since time was short. I texted info that day. We didn't get an invoice. So we called to check in and was told we'd get an invoice. Another day passed and we still didn't. So called again, and left a message that went unreturned. Then, went to store in person and finally had success placing the order. So all of this would have been mostly made up for in a quality product. But, unfortunately, that was not the case. While the cake was pretty and visually what we wanted, the cake itself was dry and the icing was dense and sugary--not the rich buttercream we were expecting. We've had better cakes from grocery stores. And we didn't have to work so hard to get them! read more

Marie is a wonderful person with with a great concern to give the best service with quality in all the products fate cakes has to offer

I ordered cupcakes for my son's birthday. I was in a hurry and mistyped his address. The owner Marie called me as she was trying to deliver and I discovered my mistake. She was so nice about it and did not express any of the annoyance that I'm sure she was feeling! She then called again when she got to his address to make sure that he would get them because she couldn't enter the building due to the security doors on his apartment building! I am so thankful for her extra effort to make this delivery. He will be so happy to have these DELICIOUS cupcakes for his birthday!! Hats off to this amazing bakery!! I will not order from anywhere else from now on!!! read more

This NJ Mom was sweating bullets a couple days before her son's birthday because I hadn't sent him anything for his first birthday away from home! In a panic, I did a Google search for "Ohio State student birthday", and up popped an answer to my prayers in the form of Marie and Fate Cakes. The website specifically has a section that talks about care packages for OSU students, and to top that, they offer a 24-hour turnaround on orders for forgetful far away Moms like yours truly! I ordered online and followed up with a call the next morning at 9:02am. Marie, the owner answered, and could not have been more nice and reassuring that my son's cupcakes would get to him on his birthday! She said they deliver to dorms on the Columbus campus almost daily. My 19-year old, wHo is not the most emotive, was really happy with his surprise. He and his roommates LOVED the cupcakes and the presentation. I'm beyond thrilled to have discovered this Columbus gem. And now that it's on my mind, going to order some Valentines treats for my freshman, this time not so last minute! read more

This is the second time I've ordered from Fate Cakes. I ordered a sample box for Easter dinner and everything was delicious, so when I needed birthday cupcakes I immediately thought of Fate Cakes. I ordered a dozen birthday cupcakes on Sunday May 3rd for the following Saturday May 9th. Due to weather the birthday celebration was moved to Thursday May 7th. I appreciated how easy and quickly Fate Cakes was able to change the pickup date. Pick up was easy at HTH Farmers Market. What is better than receiving amazing cupcakes delivered right to your door? Personally, I can't think of anything. I was fortunate enough to receive a delivery from Fate Cakes for my birthday.
