Cold Stone Creamery opened in this space a few months ago, not far from See's Candies. 5ish tables inside. Plenty seating on granite seating spots in common area of shopping center. Soft music in background. Made on site ice cream is a "premix" that is "made on site". Offerings: cakes. Shakes. Create ur own ice cream, signature creations, sundaes.. Licks: "Coffee Lovers Only" love it signature (L. 8.35)-coffee ice cream blended live with roasted almond, heath bar, & caramel on granite stone. *choose cup over cone, less messy. -ice cream plenty sweet, crunch of additions noticed. Coffee flava wasn't pronounced. -ice cream firm, very creamy, not much air unlike other brands. -server very helpful in explaining process. -few patrons post lunch. 4ish stars Worthy:YMMV. Quantity: reasonable Quality: very good. Prefer stronger coffee taste.

@ Southshore Shopping Center 2229 S Shore Ctr Alameda, CA 94501 On a Sunday evening, I went to go try the brand new Cold Stone Creamery at Alameda's Southshore Center. Service was fairly quick with five people working behind the counter. Cold Stone Creamery features a unique ice cream experience using super premium ice cream that's made on-site. Then they mix and blend toppings into the ice cream on a frozen granite slab. The result is a fully blended frozen ice cream. You can have it in a cup, waffle cone or bowl. They offer free samples. Order from the Signature Creations menu or "Create Your Own." I ordered the "Cookie Mintster." That's mint ice cream, Oreo cookies and fudge. Unlike a regular ice cream shop, it took a few minutes to mix up and churn the ice cream and toppings on the frozen slab. I got to watch the whole process. When it was done, they added extra mint ice cream on top. My ice cream was smooth and creamy. It wasn't gritty at all. The Oreo cookies were completely blended into the ice cream. This place is brand new. It has some tables inside, and some outdoor tables in the mall's common areas. Restroom available. Cold Stone Creamery is located in the middle of the shopping center, a few doors down from See's Candy. Southshore Center is an open air mall. It has a aisle down the middle that's lined with shops. Free parking

Quite honestly an awesome addition to the plaza. With neighboring ice cream parlors close by, I still gravitate towards Cold Stone because of the different texture the spoons on cold stones provide; super velvety ribbons of ice cream with your favorite mix ins. The interior is nice and neat, very clean and full of energy. Clean displays, clean ice cream case, what else can you ask for? The employees were very helpful with guiding the long line and helping out each customer efficiently. Our go-to is the mint mint chocolate chip with added Kit Kat bar! Trust, the Kit Kat makes it!

FINALLY. I've been waiting for this Coldstone to open for ages. Coldstone has been my favorite major ice cream chain since I was a kid and it still is! I love how gooey their ice cream is and all the mix-ins you can have. This particular location seems to be great so far. It's located by the See's Candies in South Shore Plaza. Quality is consistent, lots of seating indoors, prime location, and friendly staff. Also side note, this is like the latest late night snack you could probably get in alameda--it closes at 11PM on weekends! Unheard of in this area. This is definitely going to be my guilty pleasure spot.

I'm so happy Cold Stone opened up at SouthShore! It's one of my favorite ice cream shops! Their ice creams are creamy and delicious! Staff were kind and efficient! There were several people in line but a short wait. You can create your own ice cream or select from the Signature Creations! My go-to is the Founder's Favorite! It contains Sweet Cream, pecans, brownie, fudge and caramel! All my favorite toppings in one! They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors and toppings! Highly recommend!

My first time here and I was confused of where to line up lol. No other customer or staff redirected me and there was only two customers at the time. An entire family came in a few minutes after me. The staff finished the current orders. Completely ignored me even though they saw me waiting at the counter. Went to take the family's order. The family was nice and told them I was there first. Honestly, not the best customer service. The young woman who took my order was nicer and more attentive. I asked if there's anything complimentary for dogs and I think she gave my vanilla for my dog. He loved it. As she scooped my order, I heard samples being offered. I didn't realize we can have samples before ordering. Wish I knew! I got the coffee lovers and it was good.

there's nothing like a cup of cold stone ice cream. even though there's so many ice cream places around the area, i'm always going to crave that sweet cream ice cream. This shop is clean and spacious. The employees are attentive and nice. They also have seasonal flavors every now and then!

We stopped by to pick up a birthday cake for my son. Since the store is new, I called to confirm my order which I placed online a few days ahead. Everyone was really nice. My kids each got to sample the new flavors (churro). The staff were really sweet and bubbly...wishing my son a very happy birthday! The ice cream cake my son picked out was cookie dough and it was delicious. Can't wait to go back to try more ice cream and other offerings.

Mocha almond fudge: I liked the texture and that it's not as sweet due to the coffee and chocolate combo, it's a good flavor if you like some crunch. Matcha: It doesn't have as strong of a savory and slightly bitter taste as some places' matcha ice cream, but it was still pretty good. They give you pretty large scoops, so price is pretty on par with ice cream nowadays.

Poor, old, formerly great Fenton's. I grew up in Piedmont, I've been going there all of my life…read more Nowadays, I avoid going in, because the service was so rude so many times, I gave up. But, my boss orders us food from Fenton's via Doordash to be delivered to our Oakland office from time to time. Last several times in a row, it's been pretty dang bad, (the potato chips always taste fishy!) but today (8/5/26) it was literally garbage. We had 2 egg salad sandwiches and a jalapeno burger, plus two milkshakes. The egg salad sandwiches had to be straight up tossed out. Just not edible. The egg salad was sooo watery, it was like a soup. Just dripping and running down out of the bread. Also, a HEAVY mustard taste, overpowering everything else. The burger had a piece of something (literally) translucent on it, apparently their idea of a slice of cheese? And the accompanying fries were COLD. The toasted almond milkshake was so runny it was like a flavored water. Not at all a creamy consistency, I don't even think they made it with milk, it seemed to be just a tiny bit of ice cream, some water and a lot of ice cubes (still visible in the shake). Just nasty. The other milkshake seemed ok. Of course, with the order being from DoorDash, it's near-impossible to get any real support, so it's just basically a total loss. I don't know if Fenton's just doesn't GAF, since they're always busy anyways, OR if they need to pay their employees more in order to attract the sort of person who's capable of being trained to care to do things correctly, but it's just really a bummer that such a neat, fun, old legacy business is allowing itself to disappoint customers and turn into a big mess like this. Sad.

The moment you walk into the shop, you'll notice the current flavor offerings displayed on colorful ice cream-shaped signs across the wall to the right. I could spend an eternity studying each flavor, but there's limited space to queue indoors so really gotta decide on a flavor and serving style fast in order to keep the line moving. Among the flavors were some classics, fruity/floral mixes, and dessert-inspired ones too, a whole range so there's something for everyone. I got the Breakfast Brownie and it was unforgettable! It tasted creamy and delightful without being overwhelming, while the cornflakes mixed inside added a satisfying crunch to each bite. I came back a second time before a show at Crybaby, a smaller venue across the street. Grabbing a scoop here to-go has naturally become part of my pre-concert routine at this point and I plan to come back again next time to explore more flavors. If you're ever heading to a show nearby, I'd definitely recommend stopping by beforehand for a lil energy boost and treat.

It is definitely more of a takeout ice cream spot with not a ton of seating so you either gotta get lucky with seating, wait for a spot, or take it to go. Shooting Star Cafe is in Oakland Chinatown and it is a Hong Kong style Cafe. Besides Hong Kong style foods like baked spaghetti with steak, they have a good selection of boba tea and fruit drinks. The dining area had maybe 10 or more tables, and the tables were very much occupied by families and group of friends. There was a TV overhead, so hanging out is encouraged.
