The place isn't a sit down, more of an order and take it to go situation. I hadn't known there is a boba shop at Montclair Village, but actually this Tutti Frutti location, although it still offers frozen yogurt, it primarily sells boba now and offers many different flavors. There is a milk tea, fruit tea, and plain tea menu on the TV screen on the wall, and then additional signature tea options that include combinations of various fruity teas and toppings on the physical menus at the counter. The signature teas are large size by default and are pricier. I decided to get a lavender milk tea, medium (22 oz) with boba - you have to ask if you want to modify sweetness and ice, since this isn't mentioned on the menus. The milk tea and boba was alright and definitely quite sweet at its default sweetness level, but there was not enough lavender flavor unfortunately. I also tried some of my partner's PG-13 (peach guava) which I thought was better because you can taste more of the fruit flavors and it came with both the standard boba and crystal boba. You can pay with cash, Venmo, PayPal, or credit card (they ask for $0.50 on top for credit card payments if you're buying something under $5). The person serving us tried to get us to pay cash first, then after that, Venmo, but the Venmo payment was unable to go through and he said they'd been having some issues with Venmo recently. Eventually we ended up doing credit card. Overall, I appreciate the large amount of menu items, but the drinks are pretty pricey. I didn't see how much the froyo was per ounce. read more

This was my first time going there. With different things to possibly to try I asked for a sample of two flavors I'd try to get and I was told "we only give one sample". We just happened to be close to this area, which I'm not that familiar with. We'd parked near the dental office and were up the street where my companion had gotten some ice cream at the chocolate shop. I felt like having a hot drink, so looked for boba/milk tea. From the Yelp map, I was finding it difficult to tell where this location was exactly, and I still wasn't sure from Google Maps. I tried again looking for the street address number, plus it wasn't obvious to us from the building signage since the "TF" apparently stood for Tutti Frutti, and over the door, "TF" was marked over Tutti. It's at a sharp corner/street split. The inside is pretty basic at this point. I hadn't had a flavored "milk tea" before, so there were some flavors I like (coconut, lavender, rose) and asked the helpful employee. She told me she likes the lavender, which is the first I mentioned, so I went with that, hot, plus boba. It was pretty hot, and made the boba a bit soft (I've only had cold boba). But I liked the flavor and would try it again, if not here, then somewhere closer to home. read more

Boba and froyo place in the cute town of Montclair. I ordered the CoCo Mango signature tea, made with Mango, Coconut milk tea, boba, and grass jelly. The menu said the CoCo Mango tastes like a Creamsicle and they were right!! It delivered on that creamy orange nostalgic creamsicle flavor. It felt like a childhood treat in boba form. The boba pearls were nice, but the grass jelly pieces were very large and a bit much for me. I'll pass on the grass jelly next time around. During covid, they're limiting the number of customers inside the shop to ensure social distancing. Employees manage the fro-yo machines for you to minimize contact and interactions. read more

I ordered the sea salt caramel milk tea w grass jelly. Solid flavor. It's not anything super fancy, but hits the spot if you have a boba craving. They do have some neat newer yogurt flavors like brown sugar, which I'll definitely come back to try. The gentleman that helped me was really sweet. You can tell that they are just happy to be open during COVID-19 and really appreciate your patronage. They have taken precautions, for example the yogurt is not self-serve but they serve it for you, and they ask that you wait outside for your drink order and they bring it to you. This is a small frozen yogurt and boba shop located in the Oakland Hills. The indoor seating is very limited, and street parking can be a challenge, but it's worth a visit if you're in the area and craving some boba (I haven't tried their frozen yogurt yet). This is one of two frozen yogurt shops in Montclair Village, and it's currently the only place that offers boba drinks. Drink prices are slightly higher than I initially expected, but hey, it's Montclair. Their milk tea is pretty good, but it's just a little sweeter than I usually like, and I wish the tea was just a little bit stronger. There's a sign that says all of their tea is made from fresh tea leaves (a huge plus for me!). Their tapioca is the perfect texture and chewiness. For this, I will definitely be back. read more

BOBA is served here and I actually approve of it! I wasn't expecting to like it but I had a craving and this place was closest so i tried it. I'll be back for more honey black milk tea with boba! This place needs to advertise better that it serves boba because it's the only one in Montclair Village which is a major plus. I definitely choose this place over Mr. Green Bubble on Piedmont Ave. and no long line! Staff here could use some work on being more friendly and informative. I just went here with my family. I used to go to this shop about 10 years ago and loved it. I walked in today with my 9 year old daughter and boyfriend and right off the bat the woman working here seemed straight up annoyed that we were there. She told me she'd be with me in a second and I told her no worries and to take her time! I asked if she had any non caffeinated milk tea for boba and again, she seemed annoyed. There were boxes everywhere so I figured okay must be Sunday inventory so whatever she's probably stressed. But then my daughters mango sorbet froyo tasted totally gross, I ordered lavender milk tea and got jasmine milk tea (didn't bother saying anything because when I went back in to double check what I had ordered there was no one in the front of the store and i didn't want to piss them off), and the boba in me and my boyfriends drinks were not sweet whatsoever (the drink was sweet, boba which usually is cooked with honey or sugar tasted like they just boiled it in plain water). Service is terrible. My wife goes here every week and treats my 3 daughters to boba or frozen yogurt. I always go to Yogofina down the road. But I gave it a shot since I'd never been. My 4 year got some frozen yogurt and walked two steps out of the store and dropped it all over the sidewalk. I go back in and get another...and normally you'd expect to get comped in this situation but the 15 year old cashier charges me again. Clueless. Yes, she's totally in the right to charge me again but who does that. Great job pissing off a local and ensuring that I'll never come back. Took the wrong order after I repeated two times what I wanted then gave me even more of an attitude because she had to fix it. This is a review of their vegan soy yogurt only, not the yogurt that is mean to cows. Tutti Frutti has both a vanilla and mango flavored soy yogurt, both of which are non-dairy. For true vegans (what we call "vegan vegans"), the sugar is non-bone char (beet sugar). Get a combo of both flavors, you won't be disappointed. But while the soy yogurt itself is really good, the marketing is not. In fact, it is a fiasco. Instead of calling it "soy yogurt" and listing it by flavor: mango, vanilla; the sign says it is "edamame" flavored yogurt. Spit take! Edamame are, of course, young soy beans boiled in the pod. Edamame is delicious as an appetizer at a Japanese restaurant, but as a yogurt flavor, not so much. So the owners of Tutti Frutti wrongly believe that soy yogurt is edamame flavored yogurt, which it is not. It is just yogurt made from soymilk instead of cow's milk (which, by the way, is made for baby cows, not people, but I digress). On top of that, it is not soy-flavored or edamame-flavored, it is either mango or vanilla. Get past the edamame-flavored nonsense, be kind to cows, and enjoy a delicious mango/vanilla soy yogurt. read more

When you order the Death by Chocolate, rest assured you will likely NOT die from it seeing as it's 30 calories per ounce as opposed to over 72 calories per ounce in, say, Haagen Dazs chocolate ice cream. Well, assuming you limit yourself to under a cup at less than 200cals, which is a feat in itself with how delicious it is. (I've also tried the Vanilla and wasn't a fan.) Everything here is self-serve so grab a cup and mix and match whatever flavors and toppings you want. They'll charge you by the total weight of your order minus the weight of your cup, so choose wisely. This is a very small branch that's ideal for picking up your fro-yo fix to-go as you walk around Montclair Village or relax on one of the neighborhood's sidewalk benches. read more

Well, back to the Yelp game and this place inspired me to write a review. Interestingly positioned in Montclair, this place is a great stop for dessert after having dinner or lunch around the area. Furthermore, this venue sells boba! Now some of you boba folks may be skeptical, but this place is legit. You can taste the authenticity of the milk tea (premium tea leaves) as well as the pearls. Definitely love it - btw, it's also a big plus finding legit boba around this area :P The store manager present is awesome and he provides insight on how their yogurt is different from others. Ambiance is like your regular normal shop, but definitely clean and roomy for a small shop. The yogurt also tastes very well. Not too sweet, and a lil bit of that tart kick. Not to mention, the fruit toppings are very fresh and the boba pearls used are always fresh. Definitely coming back especially since I know the boba is legit.
