The instigator is so yummy! I would rate it 12/10. Nice vibe with friendly staff. Theres indoor and outdoor seating as well. Definitely a cute little coffee spot to go to if you're on 2nd street.
Once upon a time, this Faerie Queen was delighted to find a cafe I had not yet enjoyed. Large and comfortable atmosphere. I had the LA Baby drink with a croissant and they weee unique and lovely! The end.
I keep seeing this place on my FYP on the Tok and was visiting my son, who lives in LB, so I gave it a try. Yummo! I got the Day Trip iced. Excellent! Not too sweet and nice touch of cinnamon. The staff was friendly. I got there 30 minutes before they were closing, so no line. Cute place to sit and do work or chit chat with a friend. Of course they have merch. Will definitely be back next visit.
Finally open on 2nd Street! Great, lean interior with decent seating space. Coffee is delicious and baristas were friendly and helpful.
Decent if you need it in a pinch, service is great. Vibe is cute and spacious for work or studying. Just feel like there are better coffee shops. Blueberry brown sugar latte was good. Nothing to write home about. Pistachio latte - skip. Giant chocolate chip cookie was the star, it was sooooo good. Parking is street on retro row. Overall I'm on the fence... I'll try a few more coffees
This was my first time trying coffee drunk and I personally wasn't impressed. I got my usual order an iced latte with cinnamon and honey. The straws given are really tiny and I felt my latte was watered down relatively quick. The service was decent. The ambience is not my preference. It's mostly outdoor and is hard to study or work imo. I personally wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
I've been wanting to visit and finally came in before a Sunday morning walk. Staff were friendly and answered my questions about the pastries before a final decision was made. I ordered an iced the On My Way latte with a passion fruit pastry. Ugh - I was on my way to heaven! The flavors were pronounced and neither were too sweet and I ended up with flakes everywhere (as one does with a deliciously well-made pastry). The coffee and pistachio flavors melded well and had me properly caffeinated. Desire the busyness, customers entered and left quickly with their to-go orders. The merch was cute and the vibe definitely invited me to stay longer than anticipated.
Ordered: Large Iced Baby LA (~$7): house-made vanilla syrup, honey, mint, espresso & milk, topped with espresso dust Aya's take: First stop in Long Beach and decided to grab coffee at a local spot with 3 locations in the area. The Iced Baby LA was sweet from the vanilla syrup, creamy from the milk, and bold from the espresso and espresso dust on top - exactly what I was looking for to start my day. The honey & mint were a nice touch too. Good try!
Wow what a gem! First off their seasonal drinks are so so good! I got the seasonal drink that was made with matcha and it was sooooo good! The inside is super cute! Seating is everywhere but there aren't tables. Service was super quick. Would be back!
I love coming to CoffeeDrunk. The vibes are really chill with friendly and attentive staff. It gets really packed and can be a bit loud, so I'd recommend it more for meetups than working. On this visit I tried the fall menu item, Pier Pressure. It has apple syrup, caramel drizzle, milk, & matcha. All of these ingredients blend perfectly together, creating Fall right in your cup. It's the perfect drink to sip and bring in the Halloween season with.
Finished a run at the beach and wanted a quick coffee for my drive home, stumbled upon CoffeeDrunk. I got the drink called Slow Burn, it was DELICIOUS! Major down side is that it took 20 minutes to get my drink.... It looked busy inside but not 20 minutes busy. I would return again if I can order ahead and not wait as long bc the coffee was still super good.
Coffee Drunk is a bright and spacious coffee shop on 4th Street. It offers a unique variety of coffee, tea, and tonic options. We opted for the On My Way latte (house-made salted pistachio syrup, espresso, milk), one of their "Claim to Fame" drinks. We found it to be pleasant and not too sweet. We also ordered the Weekend in Long Beach off the seasonal menu (muddled orange, house-made yuzu syrup, maple syrup, fever-tree tonic - only available iced). We subbed the espresso float for a matcha float for $1 and found the drink to be light, refreshing, and energizing - perfect for a hot summer day. We saw people order and leave, and we also saw people order and stay to read a book or work on their laptops (there are a few outlets throughout the shop). The environment is laid back and perfect for a quick stop or a longer stay. Street parking is available in front of the shop for a fee, as well as in the surrounding neighborhoods.
I really wanted to like this place and perhaps it was an off day.. but between the extremely rude person at the front taking my order, the lack of customization on the lattes, and the actual taste - I just feel there's much better spots to visit for coffee in Long Beach. Let's start with service: the woman at the front was very dry, quiet, and uninterested. We tried asking her if we could add cold foam or sweet cream to our drinks to make them sweeter, and she said it was only available on seasonal drinks. As an avid matcha latte consumer, this made zero sense to me. While I don't blame her bc she likely had nothing to do with that decision, she wasn't kind in relaying that information or trying to help me find something on the menu I may like. Her demeanor remained the same when my friend ordered his drink, and we both felt a very negative energy coming from this woman, simply put it didn't seem like she wanted to be there taking our order. This was around 1pm last Saturday (the 21st of March), so they had a decent amount of customers, but it wasn't some crazy morning rush. Forward to the drink : we grabbed our drinks which came out promptly. I tasted my matcha and just as I suspected due to the lack of sweetness, it just tasted like grassy chalk. I assumed that my friends latte would be better, as matcha can tend to have an earthy taste to it to begin with. Then I tried his... chalky and sour. Due to the lack of customization and the barista's attitude, we just took a couple sips and tossed our drinks. It was a super negative experience for a place I really really wanted to like. I think allowing people to use sweetener and cold foam on more than just seasonal lattes would be a great first start, and perhaps training the staff on appropriate customer interaction would also help. Loved the branding on this spot, but it seems like the people who work there don't want to be there and it really put a damper on the experience, and for a place so cute, the drinks and vibes should be top notch.
Cute spot dog friendly outdoor seating (limited) didn't get to try the pastries or breakfast because they ran out (gotta get there early) I was there at maybe 1030 am. First time here was not disappointed by the instigator my gf had the horchata latte It was okay the taste was very subtle, I'm thinking it could've tasted better with oatmilk but had it with whole and it almost just tasted like milk with a hint of cinnamon and coffee. But we both agreed instigator was better. Would be back to visit if in town read more

Cute cafe with lots of natural lighting and outlets. Love the bar seating that faces outside. Perfect for people watching. Most tables are for 2 people so keep that in mind. For studying/working it can get a little loud so I would recommend bringing headphones. Drinks are on the pricier side. I got a Christmas drink - coconut peppermint matcha and it was .. disappointing. Street parking. Pastries available. Wouldn't come back unless I was in the area. read more
Small, cute little coffee shop on 4th - right across the street from Gusto. Parking is street parking and can be tricky to find at times, but plenty of area to drive through. The staff was friendly towards regular customers, having very in depth convos.z but not the same vibe I felt when ordering. I also always give myself away as a newb - because I ask basic questions. But still. If you've been reading my reviews you know I'm a coffee aficionado, but love asking questions to understand menus and options. In either case, I've been on a coffee hiatus - so what brought me here was a BBS Matcha drink I read about online. In the shop, it's called something different - heads up. I had to ask about it. It's a Blueberry Matcha basically. Oat and Almond milk options, I went with almond milk. My only issue was the drink was the brown sugar they add in. I would ask to remove it next time, hopefully they can. Tasted a little too sugary for me, I like a heavier matcha taste. However it was good overall. Once I'm drinking coffee again, I'd be back for sure to try some of their other drinks and maybe get a little friendlier service. They have things I haven't seen before, which I love to explore at a good coffee shop. read more
Passed by this place a few times and finally had to check it out. AMBIANCE: Parking: Street/neighborly parking. It can get packed so good luck. Seating: Inside and limited outside seating. Great for pairs, groups, or solo chilling. Feels: It's off the popular 4th Street packed right in a corner. The stop itself is spacious and neat. I dig the modern earthly, clean vibe and natural lighting. The Soulection music was enjoyable to enjoy my drink and reflect. Great place to study, converse or hang out. FOOD: Instigator (Recommend) Yumm! Milky smooth, brown sugar sweet, and a hint of a espresso bark. This iced coffee helped start my morning quite nicely. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Friendly, professional, and quick. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Fabulous. Great selections, reasonable prices, and pleasant vibes. There are a lot of coffee places in Long Beach but this place delivers as I enjoyed my experience here. Tips: * Check out their seasonal specials! * https://lbpost.com/hi-lo/making-it-less-about-one-size-fits-all-inside-retro-rows-newest-cafe-coffee-drunk read more

First of all CUSTOMER SERVICE 5 stars! First time coming in and the person taking the orders was extremely nice in explaining the drinks. I ended up trying the stinger It was so delicious! I ended up with half decaf shot and half regular shot. My mom tried the pistachio hot latte and it had the perfect hint of pistachio. We tried the vegan option for burrito (SOOO GOOD) I also tried a pastry that had potato( not sure what it's called, but 10/10)! I went around 11, so I would say it was pretty full, found two tables to sit it. Would definitely recommend and come back when I'm in LB. read more
Definitely one of the best coffee places in Long Beach that I've tried. Soooooo glad I tried this place because it was a very memorable drink and I will absolutely be a returning customer. My sister and I both got the Instigator, except that I got mine with oat milk. There was not one negative I had about my drink. It was yummy. I certainly know why it's popular. My sister who also got the Instigator usually has to add sugar to her drink, but not today. Lol. She said her drink was the right amount of everything! The inside is cute. Love the name of this place and the pops of pink. We went on a Friday morning and it was busy, customers galore but the service was fast. We also got the Vegan Coffee Cake - one banana walnut and one guava and these were something we both could do without. Street parking was easy to find nearby. Would recommend. read more

Ok I only ever give good reviews (when deserved) but just to even out all those people who only ever take the time to review a place when they are angry. Way too many to count and it's disheartening. That said, I don't get to it immediately until today, the customer service here was outstanding...I wish I would've gotten the name of the girl who rang me up (we were talking about Tupac) and the guy who made my drink. They were both so kind and made me feel welcome, many times I'll walk into a new local coffee shop and since I'm not a regular, I end up feeling uncomfortable. Not here, they treated everyone the same and thank u for that. I got the Instigator over ice and it exceeded my expectations, their espresso is smooth and the drink has a little sweetness to it but it's not at all overpowering. This place is so far out of my way to anywhere but I'll def take the detour anytime! read more
One of the top three coffee destinations in Long Beach right now. Here, Confidential Coffee and Wood Coffee Co are the absolute best. Coffee Drunk is king for the coffee cocktails though and they are always trying out new drink experiments like mad scientists. There is always some new tasty creation to try on menu and the professionalism the baristas exude cannot be topped. They do feel like mixologists and I feel like I'm getting the royal treatment every time I come in. Props for always delivering on innovation and quality. read more

The service here is great. They are always super fast making my drink even if there's a longer line. This could be a good spot for studying/doing work in the afternoon however it does close at 5 so not a good late night study spot. My favorite drink to get is the Instigator and in the holiday season their Lil Spice is very good too. read more

Coffee was very good! Had the orange with iced coffee and horchata latte and it was smooth and tasty. The environment has hipster chill vibes and staff was friendly. Good spot to sit and chill and appreciate people watching and the street or just study . read more
I've been here twice and this coffee is pretty good! It seems like there are are so many coffee shops opening up in Long Beach and I truly think this one is here to stay! I've tried the "Last Call" and the "Instigator" and both were amazing. They have a breakfast sandwich that is also pretty good as well, it's very filling. You def won't regret coming here and I will be back. read more

Use to LOVE this place but I think they are becoming more like everyone else in the coffee game... Specifically, short changing the "fullness" of the drink. I ordered a large and asked for lite ice. This is what i got! Clearly it is not full I'm tired of paying for ice with little coffee read more

There are a lot of interesting drinks here. Seasonal stuff is pretty cool, has a gin and tonic equivalent and a maple brown sugar latte. They were both above average, I would give it like a 7/10. I would come back and then go to the bakery across the street lol. read more

Great coffee in Long Beach! I usually come here for coffee when I get baked goodies from Gusto across the street. Though, their pastries are also very good so if Gusto isn't open I'm still covered. Friendly service each and every time! read more
I love getting CoffeeDrunk, the best kind of buzz. Walked by this place last year before it opened and was so excited for a new local coffee joint. Now it's part of my local coffee rotation! I love the Instigator. A perfect iced coffee with hints of brown sugar that's not to sweet to start the day. I also love the pumpkin instigator - truly a girl cannot get enough seasonal drinks. For a summer coffee drink definitely get a tonic, refreshing and a perfect way to cool down. Other drinks that are notable: matcha latte, americano, and drip. Their beans/roasts are all good. Owners/workers are all super nice and service is great. Also really appreciated feeling safe here especially since CoffeeDrunk opened during panini times. Decent amount of tables inside and outside to stop and chat with friends, sit and work, or simply people watch. Love the decor and vibes here, for sure. Also the name - So much that I have a CoffeeDrunk hat! read more

Excellent coffee, service is The place is decent sized, they have tables inside. They also sell some swag items, caps with "coffee drunk" on them, reusable bags, etc. The menu isn't posted on the wall, but it's on a small clipboard by the register. Pretty straightforward coffee menu but they have a couple specialty drinks. I ordered an Instigator (iced espresso shaken with maple, brown sugar, and milk) with oat milk. I also asked for it half sweet because I don't like overly sugary drinks. Came with a funny sticker "caffeinate responsibly" which goes with the store's branding nicely. I absolutely loved my drink. Just the right amount of sweetness and the espresso flavor was bold and strong. I would absolutely order it again. Docking a star because the service wasn't spectacular. They're not very friendly. The lady messed up our order when putting it into the system, luckily I caught it before they made the drinks. My sister also didn't love her drink so they remade it for her, but they did so with attitude which didn't sit well with us. read more

The name and the menu sounded interesting so I decided to give it a try. I was in the mood for some caffeine and am always on the lookout for different cafes to try and get my fix. The espresso tonic drinks on the menu looked interesting to me. The barista gave me a run down on what they were and I decided to try one out. Per his recommendation I tried the Long Beach Lemonade. It's essentially tonic water with lemon, sweetener topped with espresso. At first sip it was a bit strong on the tonic. Halfway through I got used to the taste and actually enjoyed the drink! Pretty pricey though is my opinion ($7.50). I'm going to come back here and try their lattes since that's my usual thing. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is cute. Parking is on the street. read more
Can't. Get. Enough!! Man oh man. I freaking love this place. The "Last Call" hooked me in day one. It's a dark chocolate chia latte with espresso & its fireeee. I don't even like dark chocolate but I love that drink. The "instigator" is also a nice iced drink with subtle hints of maple syrup and brown sugar that compliment the coffee beans. I heard this place started making cocktails at night! I'll be there soon to try those as well. Thanks for always being here coffee drunk! You staff and your creations are amazing. read more

Cute and clean coffee place! Last Call (dark chocolate chai latte over ice) is my go-to! The perfect blend of rich chocolate and spicy chai--I could literally drink this every day and never get tired of it! Plus, the cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax or to work remote. read more

I absolutely love this establishment. I've been coming in the last 3 weeks to study and get my coffee kick. There's plenty of outlets, it's clean and inviting, the friendliest/most considerate staff, and not to mention the best coffee in Long Beach. I ordered a mini donut that was incredible but all their pastries look amazing. I also want to give a shoutout to the manager Theresa. She remembered me after my first time coming in, remembered my drink order, and makes you feel right at home. Just a wonderful, bright person - you just don't get service like that! read more
