Great coffee drinks! Bad service and not much food for the $$. Read on if you'd like the long version. During a conference at the Peppermill I discovered this coffee shop. Over the course of the next three days I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito, cardamom and gingerbread lattes and Quinoa bowl. Most of which I ordered using their online service. The forth time I used the online order service and showed up just before they said my order would be ready. My latte was waiting for me but still no breakfast bowl. I waited for a few minutes asked for an update. The nice young lady was very apologetic stating they had an issue with the receipt printer and my order must have been overlooked. She immediately put my order in and gave me a free coffee card for my trouble. I waited by the mobile order area where I expected my order would eventually show up. I was wrong. Another 10 mins go by and I ask once more. The same clerk directed me to my order that was waiting for me on the far opposite end of the counter. My name was not called and no one got my attention advising my order was ready. This caused me to wolf my lunch down and almost be the late guy at my conference class. The food and coffee was great. However, small portions with high prices for what you get. This would've been a great experience and I obviously liked this spot enough to return several times but this was out of convenience and the fact I liked the coffee. Waiting a total of 25 minutes over the time they said my Oder would be ready is ridiculous and unacceptable. I'll return to get my "free" coffee but that's about it. Would've been 4 stars for coffee because it's great but and 3 for food based on the price not the taste (coz it was tasty). One star for my frustration. read more

Was visiting my in-laws in Reno we are from La and I stumbled across this coffee shop. I loved it so much that I came 5 mornings in a row. The Keto coffee was my favorite. Terrific coffee house. Huge coffee shop with wifi and tons of tables both inside and out. Not the largest coffee selection but my maple almond latte was terrific. They also offer a bunch of brunch-type of meals including sandwiches, avocado toast, and breakfast bowls. Food was great and out pretty quickly. I just learned that they won't be making the spinach feta croissant's anymore and that was the only reason I went to coffee bar! That makes me very sad. :( The gentleman at the counter said they have discontinued this product because the bakers decided they didn't sell enough of them??? Really??? This doesn't make any sense to me. The last time I went there I got the last one and the cashier told me they run out of them frequently since the fans know they have to get them early before they run out. I love this place. They have a variety of baked goods and hot menu items, and they have delicious lavender and matcha lattes which I haven't seen other places. Coffee is the fuel that runs my life and Coffeebar knows what i need! The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting but the main thing im concerned about here is the amazing coffee. The barista who took my order opened my eyes to an all new flavor. With all of the glowing reviews of the CoffeeBar, I really wanted to like this place. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! I tried a large Chai latte (it was watered down, lukewarm, and tasteless), a empanada looking pastry labeled "bacon" (greasy and mostly pastry), and a cinnamon roll (could only eat the outside, since the inside was raw.) I'm bummed that the reviews raved and my experience stunk! ***Now before any of my fellow yelpers call me out for not speaking to a manager - The order was to go and I was late for a conference call after waiting in line for 20 minutes. I did not have a chance to taste it before i was driving away. Just wanted to share the reply I received from Greg the owner (I appreciate his time and reaching out to make it right): Dale, I am sorry that we didn't get the opportunity to educate you on some of our systems and options. I am also sorry that we didn't give you a better first impression, which we only had one chance to do. I am personally bummed that you and your wife felt the experience was so horrible. That being said I would like to take the opportunity to give you a couple pointers if you decide to come back in. 1. Order an extra shot in the 12 oz latte. We only put 1 in our 12 oz lattes mostly b/c it is always easy to add a shot to increase the strength, but not so easy to take it away and the majority of people that frequent other shops sometimes don't like the super strong coffee. 2. The breakfast calzones are made by Wild Garlic Pizza next door and they are supposed to be the Italian version of a breakfast burrito, bread, egg, meat and we brush them with olive oil to bring out some of the flavors. They are supposed to be bready. I am sorry you didn't enjoy it. 3. As I told your wife, we were having some problems with the calibration of our oven, so I am sorry that your cinnamon roll was raw. We have discussed this with our bakers and I believe the oven is fixed. 4. We make our chai from scratch with real tea and spices. It is a different style for sure, with more of a traditional preparation. That being said, it sounds like the agave didn't get stirred in enough, which really helps bring out the flavor. Again, it sounds like we screwed that up too! I really apologize!!! My old mentor said excuses are the same as reasons. All I can do is apologize. I am happy to give you guys a gift card if you care to come back. That being said, we also just might not be the right place for you. Wow. I had, quite possibly, the best bite of a crepe ever. My friend and I went to Coffeebar today for brunch. I ordered the veggie quiche and she got the (I believe) farm stand crepe. Don't quote me on that, but if you want to get that same one, just tell them you want the Best Crepe Creation In All Thee Land. It had ham, cheese, and pesto drizzled on top. The quiche I ordered was top notch, but after that, very generous, bite my friend gave me, I kept eyeing her food like a food addict on a diet. Man, I might have to go get one tomorrow. Yes, that's what I'll have to do, or I'll simply burst. The vanilla lattes we ordered were pretty darn good as well. They are a tad slow on the production of those, as they came out after the food, but when the quality is top-notch, you can't really ding anyone for something so minimal. What a find! I stumbled upon this place with a friend as we were looking for a quick breakfast before we hit the road. The decor is a solid step back to a kitchen from the 60's complete with classic kitchen appliances, sofas and even several old TVs playing bugs bunny. It was such a refreshing change from any place I've been, let alone eaten breakfast at. Even the TVs, something I'm not fond of in restaurants, were so small and playing silently that I found they actually contributed to the atmosphere instead of detracted from it like in most places. Literally, just got home from Coffeebar and I seriously don't understand the buzz! I ordered a 12oz. latte that was so watered down, when I poured it down the sink it looked like beige milk. The hubby ordered a chai latte that was equally bland and tasteless. We also got a cinnamon roll and a bacon calzone. The calzone was greasy, super doughy and inedible. The cinnamon roll was ok - a bit raw in the middle. This whole excursion cost $18.75 and I would have been better off throwing that money into my trash, because that's where everything ended up anyway! read more

Beautiful coffee bar. The person that took my order was very friendly. I love that you can get almond milk and coconut milk instead of dairy milk. The drinks we ordered were beautiful and perfect. Thank you for having electric plugs by the tables so I could plug in my computer. The experience up to this point is a five star. Then I had to go to the bathroom. A big problem. The floor and the toilet were very dirty. There are no toilet seat covers. So I'm not exactly sure how a woman is supposed to use the toilet. Do we sit on dried urine? Do we hover? Since opening I average being here 4+ days a week. I live VERY close and walk over. IMO, this place warrants multiple visits to earn your business. While their products may not be your favorite ever, they ARE high-quality. There are many choices, too. What differs from day to day are the customers. Depending on when I show will partly determine what I thought of the morning experience. It may be average in calm and 8 minutes later chaotic with strollers and kids and grandmas everywhere. Outside, some days it seems to be Madison Square Garden's National dog show. Other days you would believe you had to bring a laptop to get in. Sometimes I think I've accidentally stumbled into a high tech production meeting as the big table has been taken over by biz people with laptops and binders everywhere:). I believe most days will work for you here. The staff is always trying. They keep tweaking the place in an effort to keep us coming. It's working. My wife and I visited the Coffeebar on Saturday evening, we arrived just before they closed. We waited almost 10 minutes while the young man was grinding coffee for a customer. A barista was having an intimate conversation with a friend and could not bother to assist her fellow employee. Upon completion of grinding the young man told us "sorry we are closed" ???? I said we have been waiting for 10 minutes and now your closed? He then said " the machine is shut down for today". We have been patronizing this establishment for several years, service has always been just ok. The Truckee location is nice and so are the employees. This is hands down the best place to get gourmet coffee that isn't overpriced! It's cheaper if you drink your coffee there [versus getting it to go] and trust me, you'll want to stay unless you're in a hurry. The cafe itself is pretty big and has 2 areas that are separated by the counter/kitchen. They also have a bar (hence the name) and a food menu. Their desserts are generously proportioned and there's a wide selection to choose from. My friend and I tried the oversized snickerdoodle cookie, which was pretty decent for a standard cookie- soft and chewy and not overly sweet. The staff was very friendly and flexible. Originally I was suppose to go on a coffee-date with a friend, but since she bailed on me, I thought that I would try it myself. The place itself is in a nice little neighborhood in Reno. Pretty easy to find even though I parked in the wrong parking lot across the Wild Garlic, but it's just right next to it. When I walked inside the cafe, the environment was very cozy and modern. It was quite busy when I got there, but then again, I got there at 11 something so I'm assuming that people are on their lunch breaks or college students, like myself, are on their spring breaks. The customer service was really nice. I wish I knew my cashier's name who took my order. She was really welcoming and really broke out of my shell since I tend to be pretty shy when I order something. But lovely, lovely staff. The place is inexpensive as well. I ordered a chocolate mate latte with a nutella crepe under $10. The desserts that they displayed on here were very appetizing and from what one of the yelpers mentioned, the desserts are what won people's hearts as well as their coffees. My crepe was delicious (hello NUTELLA) and so was my latte. I would definitely come back here again with family/friends from out of town, or when I just want to have some time for myself and get myself a nice cup of coffee. read more
