We stopped by on our way through Boise. The americano I got was good and the barista was friendly. We also ordered 3 breakfast burritos. All were cold in the center. I had the bacon breakfast burrito and I'm assuming the bacon was chopped really small? I never saw bacon or tasted any. I think there were sweet potatoes in the burritos as well, which was kinda weird. They were ok at best. Maybe they taste better when they're hot? For what we got, it was pricy. read more

Coffee Studio in 5: Really really ridiculously good scones. ~Some guy on yelp posted a picture of a lemon blueberry scone and...~ Blueberry anything is just Dani bait. Yesterday I walked in for the first time hoping for a lemon blueberry scone and ironically they were all out. The only other option of scone was white chocolate raspberry. The lovely person at the counter, Emily, offered to warm it up and it was one of the best scones I've ever had. ~The baked goods stole the show~ The majority of their baked goods (including the scones) are made in house. The difference is astounding, most scones I encounter are a bit dense and saw dusty. Not these. These are delightful. The coffee is great, not my absolute favorite but it does the job. I didn't get anything fancy, just a plain almond milk latte and I'd get it again. ~I honestly thought it was just a drive thru~ This place is adorable. I think it's the smallest coffeeshop I've ever been to. Since most seats strategically face, or are next to, the windows, it doesn't seem small at all. I've been in shops twice the size that feel half the size. ~I like it, I like it a lot.~ I enjoyed hanging out at the Coffee Studio. The barista was genuinely kind, I loved the playlist, and that scone was spectacular. The service, coffee, fresh baked goods and cozy atmosphere are all reasons I'll be back. I had the pleasure of visiting the coffee studio last week and wanted to give a BIG shout out to Anna the barista!! She was amazing. I watched her working by herself for a while that day. She never once looked overwhelmed by the line of cars waiting for service or people in line inside. I am sure people waiting in their cars were not aware of the fact that she was working alone. Here's what you need to know--when they ask you if you'd like 3 shots in your 16 oz mocha, and you think to yourself, I only ever have 2 shots in my mochas elsewhere: Take the three shots. Their espresso isn't terribly strong and while three will be divine--2 will be too weak and consequently too sweet tasting. However, if you know this going in, you'll have yourself a mighty fine mocha served with efficiency and friendliness. They have a drive-thru for your convenience and they also have seating inside (truly, more seating than you'd presume from the size of it). Get to it! read more

This place has gone WAY downhill since the new owners took over. The blonde girls at the drive-thru are rude and don't smile. They have got my coffee order wrong more than once, it's also way to hot to drink and by the time I get to work, that's when I taste it. I always say "kids temp" for my lattes and I don't really understand how someone can get that wrong? I tried the vegan breakfast burrito because my friend said it was pretty good. They don't even make them there. They get all there coffee and food from Caffeina Coffee Shop and call it there own. When I got the vegan breakfast burrito, I don't know if it was just old or she didn't heat it up correctly? There were parts of the tortilla that was hard. YUCK I couldn't even eat it. Here's the thing, their customer service was good. The people who worked there are really nice, so I really wanted to be able to give them a good review, but the drinks just aren't that good. This is one of my go to coffee places. The staff is amazing, always friendly and gets it right every time. The coffee is solid and well prepared. Now that they have Guru donuts there is yet another reason to stop, just get them early, they go quick! This isn't an optimal place to get work done, it is a bit noisy and there isn't a lot of room to sit but if you want to just get something done quickly it is perfect. Sitting outdoors on the weekends is very nice. Definitely give this place a try, you'll be happy you did. read more

I absolutely love this place!! I do not drink coffee. Try to stay away from it. I make this a destination every weekend. The drinks they make actually taste like what they say it does. Most places it still tastes strongly of the coffee. I wish I could come everyday and have their specials. I don't get a chance to try everyone before they put new ones out. Make this a place to go. I am from Portland, grew up around coffee. Moved here 6 years ago and fell in love with this coffee place. Fast forward to today. I have seen baristas come and go, owners turn, coffee types change, attitudes meld. I have stopped going to get coffee from then several times to find myself returning and actually finding some good coffee. I have tried to return the last few months. Let me tell you about this morning... I waited for the cars to go through the drive up, takes 15 min in AM around 7:15, I get up to window order a iced americano, and I also mention that I called yesterday because I bought a yogurt parfait that had turned bad...the Barista told me that was just their yogurt...it is not sweet, it's wasnt bad. another barista comes up and says the same thing, rings me up....I am sitting there a little stunned. I must have imagined it was bad, I guess, I guess I don't know what I am talking about. Then the first girl says she rang you up for your normal order...not a americano. I think never mind, I will just go, but they charged me already for the wrong drink. So I ask the second girl If she is going to replace the yogurt parfait...she says yea aai will make you one...I sit there for a while, the second girl says "I had other stuff to do" while the first one is making me the wrong drink. I watch, I then also decide...Wayyyy to many chances for this place, it's hard enough getting to work but being schooled by baristas on my way to work, and paying 7 bucks for a coffee...well I am over it. They have Dawson Taylor coffee and scrumptious lattes! I first tried their honey latte before they unfurled that giant banner shouting HONEY LATTES and was instantly hooked. I have driven 20 miles out of my way for one of their honey lattes! This past weekend I was in the area and decided to stop for coffee. The ladies who work the drive thru window are extremely nice and friendly. I knew I wanted to try something different but wasn't sure what until their lavender latte caught my attention. (Make sure to always check the specials!) The barista suggested adding (what else but) honey to it, which I was all for. The latte was iced, the coffee was delicious, and the lavender and honey flavor was awesome. Why not five stars? I wish this place were a little more off the beaten path. It's in the middle of the mall area and the traffic is usually super congested. Not enough to deter me from a luscious latte, but enough to be annoying depending on the hour. Staff is always friendly. They really do care about how your day is going. They make killer lattes unlike those weak watered down ones at Starbucks or DutchBrothers. They also have a pretty good selection of food items to choose from. The place (rifleman) is so very nice and comfortable to hang out and sip coffee while reading a book or surfing the web. Boise has some great coffee spots. But the best coffee in the city, as confirmed by dozens of out of town guests, is coffee studio. Cool spot to meet up or hang out and work, and the thing that makes this place special is the customer service. All the baristas here are polite, fun, smart and they remember drinks and go out of their way to make sure your experience is a good one. The management is the best in Boise, and that leadership is reflected in the way the employees treat the customers. Hands down, the only place I go! read more

This is a quaint and eclectic small coffee joint close to the REI store. Service was top notch and my Kona coffee pour over was just right from a strength point, not too strong or weak. Unlike Starbucks where they unceremoniously yell your name when your drink is ready the folks at the Coffee Studio brought me my coffee, collected my cash and even brought me the change without yelling at me like they were trying to win a hog calling contest. On a mid day Tuesday there was plenty of room to enjoy my coffee work on a bit of business and enjoy the day. I love this place, the vibe is soo not corporate but more like home. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this coffee shop! It's located right by the mall (which is nice, because there aren't many non-chain coffee shops in this vicinity), every person that has ever helped me here has been over-the-top kind and wonderful, and the coffee just flat out wonderful. I highly recommend getting an iced honey latte with almond milk. They do it right. Their espresso shots are pulled to perfection and the proportions of milk and honey are always spot on so that you get a touch of sweetness but can still taste and appreciate the coffee flavor. And my favorite part? The cute little coffee bean they put on top of your cup. So yummy and such a sweet touch. read more

Their guest policy isn't as welcoming or courteous as other coffee houses in Boise. Their coffee is standard but not worth dealing with overburdened baristas who snap at customers.
