Another Saturday, another day to try a new to us coffee shop. Coffee In is a coffee shop rooted in Turkish heritage serving up Turkish coffees and signature drinks. They also have a wide variety of pastries, paninis, and waffles. We opted for two hot drinks for today's cold weather: hot skim mocha and a hot skim Tahitian vanilla latte. Both were piping hot and delicious. We also delighted in a waffle with maple syrup. It had a perfectly crispy exterior with melt in your mouth soft interior. Not sure what exactly was in my drink, but it had a nice kick to it and it was good. The waffle, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. While it tasted alright, it came out cold. Stopped in before ballet class and it was very good. My latte was missing a bit of the sweetness but I believe that is more preference then anything else. Their nutella croissant was delicious. I've been coming to Starfit a few doors down and I have always wanted to try coffee in and finally got a chance to try it this week! All I can say is... Wow! 10 times better than any Starbucks experience. When I walked in, I felt like this place is giving me a nice warm hug, it was really cute and cozy inside. I loved the little children's play area, which is a nice touch! The staff was very friendly and helped me decide my morning drink as I was overwhelmed with all the options of chai and lattes. I finally settled on the honey lavender latte when she told me that it was very soothing and calming, which is what I needed at that moment. I was very interested in the Kashmiri chai as well as some of the other holiday Flavors like roasted hazelnut and the roasted chestnut. Ok so Virginia has been on our radar..at lot. It's just become the place we flock to for good eats, grocery shopping and other errands, etc. So as I have a goal to try a new coffee shop every other month in this new year, I searched for one after a visit to Trader Joe's. A few came up in my search but the reviews made Coffee In stand out. We walked in, (and because I am that person who reads the menu before I arrive), I knew what I wanted. It's a very cute quaint place with quite a few customers and staff that are operating cohesively as a team. The young lady greeted us and took my order. Sadly, what I asked for was seasonal so I opted for a hazelnut latte. The mark of a good coffee house is of course the coffee and their's is delicious. So delicious and robust in flavor. Im not even a have to have a cup a day type person but I know quality and this coffee was quality. I wanted to try the Turkish coffee that they offer because other's reviews raved about it but I opted not to be that adventurous. Maybe one day. Maybe they'd let me sample it. I also opted for food because I was also hungry from all the grocery shopping I did before and wanted to gear up for all of the shopping I still had to do after. So I got a turkey sausage, egg and cheese on sourdough-overall good sandwich but great bread. Now food I know well. I make great food and all types of baked goods including sourdough. Once again, their iteration was successful. I smelled the fresh sourness of the bread when I pulled it out from the bag..that should tell you everything you need to know. It was grilled panini style and again, tasted very good. To round this experience out, I got an almond croissant for my husband and I to share. That was good too. There was almond paste on the inside and almonds on the outside. The almond paste to croissant size ratio was lost as we found the filling itself in our laps more than in our mouths; so what little was there fell with every bite as it did not fill up the croissant enough. It tasted great as a whole but was a bit difficult to consume. I would definitely return to try (maybe sample) the Turkish coffee and other pastries. They also had coffee for sell that intrigued me. I would suggest that they update the website for new comers like myself. I really wanted something that the website listed and after learning in store that it was only offered seasonally, I was almost tempted to try another spot nearby. Glad I didn't! read more

No. But it is a local Turkish coffee shop run by kind people. That kindness shows through the jar of free doggy treats on the table or a mini coffee shop set up for little kids. They give military 10% off. In terms of coffee, they have many options from frappies to hot coffee. Coffee comes in three sizes and I ordered the Tahitian vanilla latte in medium. It was decent. They sell a variety of pastries and breakfast sandwiches. My turkey and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin was okay. The space itself is small, but there are a few tables. We moved here two years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find this local gem. It's a Turkish coffee shop with some amazing Cervantes coffee and even better baristas. If you can't make it to the real Cervantes this is a great 2nd option!! The coffee and different fun options for espresso lovers like wake up call to Chai drinkers like the Wonka Chai, you can't go wrong. They also have a small food menu but it's great for brunch or quick breakfast. The craft your own waffles with toppings and syrups are great little morning snack. Also, please try the Simit with Feta!!! A personally favorite. That sandwiches are great too. Great place to hang out and work or chat if you can get a seat as it's in a small space with only a few outside tables, but don't let that stop you. The guy at the front wasn't much help when ordering when half the things my mom and I wanted were out. Some personal recs or customer favs would've been nice. Alexandria, VA - Needed an afternoon treat and this little shop was on my list to visit. Upon entering I was greeted by a warm and friendly employee with a BIG smile. I left with a few different items including cinnamon buns. The buns were sweet. But not too sweet and had a nice light cinnamon flavor. I will definitely come back for these. The shop is small but nicely decorated. I liked that the menu items were written on the subway tile behind the counter. I will return and next time will try a drink. Went a few times as they are conveniently located. If you are a coffee drinker(unlike myself), this is the place for you! My husband insists their Turkish coffee is the best he's had outside of Turkey! Never had bad service there. The presumed owner seems delightful. They are very quick as well. For non coffee, they used to not have much but I noticed a few new non coffee options I have to try next time I'm in including a sahlep. I also wish they would add some gluten free options to the menu. I do recommend coming here. Note it's more of a coffee shop than comes up on Google. Also seating is minimal. A much needed neighborhood coffee shop has finally opened at this shopping center since a Peets Cafe closed across the street a couple years ago. Always hoping for a good new coffee or tea shop in the DMV! I love small businesses and I could love this spot too. I could tell that the staff know about their beverages as I listened to their expertise and observed their preparation and technique. The atmosphere here has that close community feel and there is already a neighborhood following as I overheard staff knew quite a number of guest coming in on a Saturday afternoon. I hope this high quality of service and community atmosphere continues long term. Looks like the coffee beans served here are from Turkish Coffee Lady (Turkish grind only) and Cervantes Coffee (I approve). [Read: Coffee snob here]. There is a Turkish Lady Coffee location in Old Town Alexandria. It's very crowded on the weekends and worthy of a separate review. I tried the peppermint mocha with a seasonal pumpkin bread and the sahlep, which tastes like a "warm vanilla shake". Both drinks are quite good. Not too sweet. Just the right amount of flavor.
