There's just something magical about Rana Cafe Napoleon cake (Mil Hojas)
Tania B.

Mil hojas (Napoleon) There's just something magical about Rana Cafe Napoleon cake (Mil Hojas)-- those flaky, golden pastry layers and silky vanilla custard that melt together perfectly. Every bite feels like comfort and elegance in one. Not too sweet, just rich enough -- and that yummy top glaze pure perfection. A dessert that never goes out of style. Pure elegance in every layer. Honestly, this one deserves its own love language. - "Warning: once you try it, you'll crave it forever. Just bought 5 more ‍ Excellent Service. The Ambiance fresh clean and quite

It's a small coffee shop located near Fort Belvoir. The coffee was delicious and sweet. The interior is a little outdated and the couch needs to be repaired. It's ripped and sticky on the surface. Barista was good and I would love to visit again to try some other items on the menu. Friendly service!!

Coffee Shop No. 442 Rana Cafe Lorton, VA October 26, 2024 A warm genuine smile makes all the difference. Sitting in the corner of a large shopping strip is Rana Cafe. The shop was clean and neat. What I remember most was the lady at the counter. She was kind and had a beautiful smile. We talked a little about the weather and what a cortado was. It wasn't on the menu and she was not familiar with it, but she was willing to try to make the drink. I think she did a pretty decent job.

Delicious pastries. Nice cafe atmosphere and WiFi service in case you want to have coffee and a pastry as you work. Reasonably priced for such delicious pastries. Highly recommend.

Finally, a quality local family-owned and operated cafe ! Jerome was so kind and really knew his way around the espresso machine. I had an oat cappuccino with an Egyptian dessert called "basboosa." My friend had the ham and cheese croissant sandwich and a tea. All the food and coffee was great. To go, I brought home some mango mousse cake and "roz bil laban," the Egyptian version of arroz con leche . They have so many dessert and drink options like tiramisu and Neapolitan . The vibe is peaceful and friendly. A great place to bring a friend, grab breakfast or have a meeting. They open early too! Great for stopping by after a workout at Golds Gym next door. Looking forward to frequent visits.

Ballywhack Shack Cafe - 10/10 The Avocado toast on gluten free bread is phenomenal. I have never been disappointed coming here!

TLDR: Ballywhack Shack Cafe is a cozy stop at the very beginning of Occoquan with great drinks,…read moreespecially the chai lattes and coffee. The service is always lovely, seating is limited (especially indoors), parking is good, and it's right next to a bakery, which is a dangerous combination for my wallet. AMBIANCE The location is perfect. You're at the very start of Occoquan, so it's the first thing you see when you roll in, and it sets the tone for a good walk. Inside is cozy but small, so don't expect a lot of room to spread out. Outside has some seating, which is the move on a nice day. The parking is good, which in Occoquan is basically a small miracle. SERVICE The service is always very nice. Every visit has felt friendly and easygoing, the kind of place where you feel welcome whether you're there for a quick coffee or a longer catch-up. FOOD AND DRINKS This is where Ballywhack really shines. The chai lattes are soooo good, warm and comforting without being overly sweet, and the coffee is consistently great. The drinks are the reason I keep coming back. I haven't built a full food order here yet because the drinks keep stealing the show. OVERALL: Come for the chai, stay for the service, and make a plan to hit the bakery next door while you're at it. I definitely recommend it.

I was sad to see that they don't offer 'housemade' pastries anymore, as I remember seeing in their past photos; their menu for their offerings was clearly updated. In addition, the drinks that we ordered were just not good at all: +the Toasted Marshmallow Latte - prepared with 2 shots of espresso, choice of milk, and a housemade toasted marshmallow syrup; this tasted like watered down coffee with no 'toasted marshmallow' taste; coffee could have been prepared strong, and we did ask for 'extra hot', but received it regular temperature +Witch's Potion - an apple cider with chai, topped with a dash of cinnamon; probably one of the worst ciders we've had - wasn't really sure the mixture with the chai, but this just seemed like it was an improperly steeped tea that did not have any flavor The staff were friendly, and there seemed to be local patrons who come here on a regular basis. The blue mobile truck is very cute, and they had some seating available with nice fall decor. I'm glad I was able to check this place out, but no dice, Bear and Swan. +watered down lattes +avoid the ciders +friendly service +updated schedule on their social media

You can easily stop by if you're in the area. Their schedule changes so check their social media beforehand. The couple was friendly and kind. I ordered the cherry vanilla latte that I enjoyed. They have a small seating area where you could have your coffee and pastry with a friend.

The space was decorated with fall and Halloween ornaments that blended effortlessly with a French cafe atmosphere, featuring wall graphics, thoughtfully chosen design objects, displays of pastries and sweet baked treats, books and toys--including mini air balloons hanging from the ceiling--and lush plants, all contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The coffee was outstanding, and even the hot latte had a distinctive flavor profile that set it apart--rich and full-bodied, with satisfying strength and minimal acidity. The apricot tart was light and delicate, with fruit layers that weren't overly sweet. The recommended chocolate babka was more like a light bread dough with less chocolate filling than expected, rather than the traditional dense, buttery brioche-like yeast bread packed with chocolate. Overall, I was happy to discover this cafe, and I plan to swing by again next time I'm in the area.

First things first: clearly the camera did not eat first here, and honestly, that tells you…read moreeverything you need to know. We tried three items: the red velvet cake, the mocha cake, and an apple pastry (not sure of the exact name, but it reminded me of an apple turnover/empanada). Let's start with the red velvet cake, so good. Moist, flavorful, and honestly better than I expected. Red velvet is one of those cakes that's easy to mess up, but they executed it perfectly. What impressed me even more is that we bought it right before closing, didn't eat it immediately, and it still tasted amazing hours later even after being refrigerated. The mocha cake was well-made, soft, spongy, and clearly high quality, but it just wasn't for me. It has a strong coffee flavor, so if you're a coffee person, you'll probably love it. For me, it was about a 6/10. Now the real star: the apple pastry. This was everything. Perfectly flaky, lightly crisp on the outside, and filled with fresh, flavorful apples. It melted in your mouth! could've easily eaten multiples of these!! Service was also a highlight. Even though we came in right before closing, the staff was kind, patient, and efficient. Nothing felt rushed, which I really appreciated. The shop itself is cute and quaint. Perfect for a quick stop or a casual treat. Overall, Paris Baguette delivered. Some items may come down to personal preference, but the quality is there. I'd absolutely go back, especially for that red velvet cake and the apple pastry . Sidenote: they also have candles & birthday decor for purchase!
