I ordered a strawberry crepe yesterday, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The service was poor. I stood at the pickup area for several minutes while three employees were behind the counter. One of them looked directly at me while drinking water but didn't even greet or acknowledge me, and the other two never seemed to notice that someone was waiting. It felt like no one paid attention to customers at the pickup station unless they walked over to the ordering counter. I wasn't helped until another employee came out of the kitchen to assist a different customer. She then went behind the counter, chatted briefly with her coworkers, noticed me waiting, and finally asked if I was picking up an order. The food has also changed. I used to buy the strawberry crepe for my daughter almost every weekend because we loved it. This time, it was soggy and overwhelmingly sweet, with far too much topping and syrup. It no longer has the same quality it used to. The omelet was still decent and about the same as before, but the cappuccino was bland and forgettable. Nothing about it stood out. Based on this visit, I won't be coming back. It's disappointing to see both the service and the quality decline from what used to be one of our favorite places. read more

Went here for a late lunch with my DD. This place was her pick. She did a great job. I have been craving a Niçoise salad and as soon as I saw it on the menu, I knew it was destiny. Went here for brunch on a Monday morning, got the caprese crepe. It's solid for a savory crepe. Packed with pesto and balsamic glaze, plus a good amount of tomato, mozzarella, and basil. Flavor was strong, but it was drenched in pesto and oil, almost hard to eat with the plastic utensils they hand you. Also got a cappuccino, tasted normal, nothing to write home about but good. Went on a Saturday morning around 9am and it was pretty full. It's a very nice and clean place and they have a cool table top bar with a glass window where you can watch them make the coffee and smoothies. Prices seemed reasonable and the food was fantastic. We got a strawberry banana crepe, a blueberry muffin, and a breakfast sampler meal. It was all very delicious--I don't drink coffee but their coffee options looked really strong as well. The ladies working the register were very friendly and kind, and answered a few questions about what they recommended for food options. Friendly staff, quick service, delicious coffee drinks, and tasty crêpes filled with good amount of ingredients/toppings. I only have two complaints about this restaurant. First, there is very little seating and it's very cramped. There's no hallway between the counter and the table and chairs. You have so much business, please consider renting the space next to your existing restaurant to increase seating. And Second, I prefer crêpes that are crispy. These crêpes were a little undercooked. Next time I'll ask them to be cooked longer to be a crispy. We will definitely come back. read more

I ordered a hot chai and only had to wait a minute or two for it to come out! The drink was delicious and I love the cup design. There is plenty of seating and the place has a clean vibe to it. The workers are very nice and greeted me immediately after walking through the door and were patient when I was paying with cash. There is also plenty of parking which is great. Cute little cafe near my vet so I've been treating myself here a couple of times. Service is fast and helpful. I enjoyed most (if not all) of the drinks in the five times I've gone. So far, I enjoyed the dulce de leche latte more than the cortado. Caprese panini bread didn't hold well last week when I did a to-go order & I tried to do the crepe version since we liked the lox crepe but it seemed very heavy and difficult to eat. Even still, the lox items had a good balance in both bagel & crepe form, likely because of the cream cheese. I think if getting something here you can't go wrong with sweet items or the lox, if you don't feel like having a sweet tooth. Will likely come back eventually, hopefully when I'm more in a mood for a sweet Nutella crepe, which I'm sure is delicious. read more

I ordered to go a turkey sausage and egg croissant. It was ok, but the croissant was a bit too big for the boutique look Cortado Cafe appears to project. Also, the to go packaging was a bit too much, fancy, but too much. I had a hard time opening the food container; the bag was huge; the condiments were not available in to go packaging; and the coffee top was way too extreme. It's a small cafe that is a little bit on the pricier side, especially for food, but I do say it was worth it! The staff were very kind and brought our food and drink out to us. I ordered the Dulce de Leche latte which was delicious and looked gorgeous too! I knew there was a location in Alexandria (never been) but this is closer to home and recently opened. Based on the Alexandria location photos I was pleasantly surprised when i walked in here bc it almost matches in the way the wall is lined with comfy booth seating and tables with seats across. (2 person setting) Additionally, they have bar counter seating if you like to watch people make your drinks. There's plenty of outlets, which is vital for me when looking for a WFH cafe spot. Relaxing piano music and great environment even if you have meetings and 2 clean restrooms. Located right across from Brookfield Plaza, next to Taco Bamba in the same area as Chic-Fil-A. I've been sitting here for a couple hours during my lunch break and currently still working. There is plenty of parking but since this is a busy plaza it may take a couple min - I got lucky and found a spot right in front. I put down my things and was promptly greeted at the register. The staff is very friendly! I asked what flavor shots they have for the coffee and Mustafa gave me a whole list. I love going to cafes where youre given dine-in style cups and mugs - I came to sit and enjoy my time, not rush out of here so I do not want a to-go cup lol. I got a hazelnut latte and ordered the caprese panini with a house salad on the side. The latte was great, I didn't have to add any sugar and you could taste the flavor shot. The panini was delicious, great portion and the dressing on the salad was lovely. How sweet, the staff member just came up to me and gave me a yogurt parfait to try :D ! I got him to add honey for me and it's absolutely delicious. Crunchy from the granola/oats, with various berries and nuts for texture. I talked with Mustafa and Sam, (staff and owner), who are from Mauritania and Morocco, who told me the bacon is turkey bacon and the meats here are halal - which is great to know so that I can order the meat dishes in the future. Mustafa is orginially from New York so he has great recs, he's also visited many of the DMV coffee shops so talk to him if you need insight I would gatekeep this tbh LOL but they absolutely deserve the business, and I'm hoping to become a regular here inshallah :)! read more

Hidden gem! Looks like any other minimall, but inside the location is a clean, beautifully designed cafe. Best part... open 7 days a week at 7am! I think this will be my go to when I am headed to work and don't want to make myself some breakfast. This place serves a wide range of edibles, sweet or savory. I had a butter chicken crepe that I could not imagine be served better any other way. Warning, medium heat is still spicy. Someone else had the benedict and this too was a must have. And finally the avocado toast was VERY generous with the ripe avocado portion. I will also make sure to bring my out of towners here to enjoy. And servce was given by the nicest people, making this a very welcoming place. Note: Yelp states Dogs Allowed, but there was no outside seating and I have not confirmed that dogs are allowed so make sure you ask before you bring your dog here. read more

The coffee was okay--not bad, but not great. I usually judge a cafe by its cortado, and this one had too much milk, throwing off the balance. Temperature was a little lukewarm. The iced latte also felt a bit watered down with oat milk. Food was pretty good. They smushed the croissant a little, which I love in a breakfast sandwich. I appreciate that this place serves food and drinks on ceramic or glass plates or drinkware, and metal cutlery -- when dining in --because it feels more elevated for a counter-service establishment and less wasteful. My husband ordered a chicken avocado panini that came with a side salad of his choice (I believe the options were either a house salad or Caesar), and I got an avocado quinoa salad that was beautifully vibrant visually and in taste. We'd planned to stop by Taco Bamba but it was packed and so loud, we dropped in to the Cortado Cafe. We'd brought a puzzle game to play together and were able to find comfortable seating and the room to play. Our drinks were tasty and the food was fresh and delicious. The place is very clean and the staff seem to take pride in everything from pulling a shot to plating a dish to wiping down a tabletop. We were impressed and will be back! The chairs are sturdy enough for bigger bodies and bench seating is also available. Any of the tables could be made accessible for someone with a wheelchair. There are signs on the tables though for weekends, that indicate they are aren't to be used for laptops to prevent people from camping out. They serve an eclectic mix of food and drinks and the staff is nice. I would highly recommend the Norwegian crepe, and the chai latte is very sweet. I'm really excited next time I go to try the Moroccan mint tea that comes out on a pretty tray with a silver carafe and pretty tea glass.
