Grandad Crepe - Nutella and Banana
    Ben C.

Simply amazing! The Breakfast panini with Gouda! The "Grandad" crepe with Nutella and Banana and the Pumpkin Spice Latte were so good. And the people here are the best! I would drive an hour to come here, get some coffee and food and visit this amazing town!

Love the atmosphere... the young kids need more excitement. I ordered a lemon drop crepe never had one before, however I was eating and didn't taste any lemon flavor???!

Small, very bohemian coffee shop in downtown Occoquan, Virginia. Coffee is good, vibe is great

    Cute outdoor seating spaces.

This is a small coffee shop, but it has a lot of outdoor seating. Today they were out of nitro brew and vanilla chai but the cashier was very nice in recommending alternatives. I ended up ordering an iced spice chai latte and it was delicious. I liked that they had a huge connect four game for my son and me to play.

Since I was in the area for an event, I've been wanting to try this place. It wasn't hard to find because everywhere you walk it was manageable. Theres plenty of street parking on the main streets but the cafe is located in an alley next to a Belgium restaurant called Cock and Bowl. As you walk in, it's a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seatings. You would make your order and they will call your name for pick up. I ordered 3 items: 1) Aunt Ginny 2) Grandmother 3) Lemon Drop. The aunt Ginny was delicious and well balanced with flavors. With being a pannis, I was hoping the ciabatta bread had a little crunch on the outer layer. But instead the ciabatta was soft, fluffy and appears to have the marks from the griddle only to be served as a regular sandwich. The grandmother crepe was served with a white sauce and was explained it was a butter sauce. The sauce was subtle, there wasn't much flavor to it. But the crepe itself was light, airy and when incorporated with the filling of bourbon beef, onions, roasted red peppers and Gouda cheese. It was decadent and flavorful, you didn't really need to butter sauce. It was great on its own. The lemon drop crepe fell a little flat for me. The crepe itself was light and airy but there wasn't any noticeable flavors or hint of lemon. It was just the crepe and powdered sugar. The two female staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This cafe also serves muffins and pastries which are display in the small window at front counter. Come check them out.

The customer service is rude and unprofessional. My mom left a negative review the previous day and has been receiving messages from someone named Alexander V. This is extremely childish behavior for a place that is supposed to serve others. No one is expecting to be treated like royalty, but it doesn't take much to not treat others like an unnecessary burden as well. You claim we lacked empathy and came off as self-centered when it's clear you lack some self-awareness as well to fail to acknowledge how your behavior was rude. We do not walk to Occoquan area frequently enough to know the ins and outs of things and assumed that a place that said they closed at 5 would still be serving. Either way, messaging someone leaving a negative complaint is very unprofessional. And to be fair, their service was lacking. No one is expecting to be catered to, but upon entry the staff seemed very unwelcoming from the get go. Our main complaint was how they sat there, watched us peruse through the menu and then say they're closing the grills down for the crepes since it's almost 5. Fine. Do I think it's ridiculous to close down early when there's still 30-35 minutes left? Yes, but I can understand it may have not been a busy day. The place literally has Crepe in its title though..it would've taken 3 seconds to say 'Hey, welcome. Unfortunately we're closing down early today and won't be serving anymore crepes but you're free to purchase anything else' rather than just sit there and make us feel stupid when we were ready to order. It's very funny how they apparently had the time to write a long message though. I always try to be understanding towards customer service workers and understand the work can be stressful, but it's also not an excuse to act like a moody teenager at the register when speaking a few sentences would've gone a long way. I understand customer service work can be stressful and I rarely complain much about it unless absolutely needed, but the direct messaging is a huge disappointment and disgusting.

We have been stopping at this location for the past two years. The owner is super friendly and personable. The food is always excellent. I typically get the "Uncle Kevin" and my wife gets the "Aunt Donnie". We have also gotten the muffins which are fresh and warmed for you. Today we had the blueberry and the banana nut muffins. The coffee and tea is always on point. We like that you can sit down and eat both inside, and outdoors ( weather permitting). The parking is always easy and we have never had a bad experience. This place has a friendly vibe to it and it is one of the many reasons we always stop by whenever we travel past it.

This shop is easy to overlook, but you are really missing out. Great latte! Friendly faces! Delicious crepes!

We were exploring the old town where this cafe if located and my good friend suggested this spot. Very cute setting. I would say there is a handful of inside seating, and a couple of outside seating. We ordered the strawberry & nutella crepe, oreo & cheese crepe, along side a mocha and cold brew coffee. HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting the oreo crepe! Who would've thought oreo and cheese together taste so good?! No complaints about the coffee! It just hit the spot on a sunny chilly day.

I got the build your own savory crepe option with two fried eggs, Gruyère cheese, extra goat cheese, spinach, extra tomatoes, and dill creama to put on top. The crepe instead of a tortilla option was definitely unique, but tasted light and went well with the ingredients I had chosen, not overpowering it at all but being the nice burrito casing it should be. The veggies were all fresh and the tomatoes were red and they actually gave me extra which was nice...most places won't add extra when you ask for it. The eggs were cooked well, though I wish they had another way of cooking them as an option for the build your own crepe, as they have scrambled eggs available for one other savory crepe. The service was great as they also added extra goat cheese inside my crepe as well as adding the two sides I paid extra for. Most places won't look at the notes and so I ordered two sides just in case, but I didn't end up needing them. They were quite generous with their extras. The creama dill sauce topped off the crepe quite well, and was a tangy, creamy addition to the meal. Their sauces had pretty decent portions, so even those like me who love their extra sauce will find one enough. You are definitely getting value for your money as the crepe was as long as my fork and super wide. IT WAS HUGE! I had to save half for later, so it was like getting two meals in one. TLDR: I highly recommend going to Clifton Cafe for your brunch needs! The food is fresh, delicious and has enormous portions, which will have you taking home a to go bag. I would have added onion, but I thought a $1 upcharge for onion was far too much, so i didn't add it on principle alone. The crepe came out pretty quickly! It was very good, my only "gripe" is that the cheese and pepperoni didn't get a lil burn to it, like a pizza would have. I love burnt cheese and a lil char on my pepperoni! My sweet crepe, I got apples, sweetened condensed milk, walnuts and whipped cream. This was also very good! Not too sweet, just sweet enough! The apples retain their heat a bit, though, and i burnt me mouth, but that's my own fault. I will definitely be coming back, probably alone again, as it's a rather tiny establishment. This is definitely a hidden gem in fxb!

All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!
