NazBro - Amazing Chocolate! - Chocolatiers & Shops Near Me - Occoquan, Virginia

Staff were very informative regarding the process of their chocolate making. They provided samples of the chocolate covered blueberries, chocolate covered cherries, chocolate covered peanuts and chocolate covered espresso beans. EVERYTHING was delightful. The ambiance is a clean chocolate store with Willy Wonka memorabilia and decor scattered throughout. They have several treats to pick from. A nice spot to grab sweet treats. read more

Always a wonderful place to stop in for gourmet level treats! After buying my usual chocolate covered almonds and cherries for my charcuterie plates, still given an espresso truffle to try without having to ask. The silky chocolate melted in my mouth, giving way to velvety smooth espresso and a busty of flavor. What a wonderful mid-day much needed pick-me-up! Simply amazing and definitely added to my purchase on the spot. The store is small, but not overwhelming crowded as the chocolates are well organized on the shelves by weight and the display case is visually pleasing with signage that describes each chocolate. Service is impeccable, did I mention the free samples every day and not having to ask? Yes PLEASE and THANK YOU!!! Wish I had taken photos, but there was a crowd forming as this little gem of a chocolatier shop is getting to be well known by more than just the locals. read more

What a chocolate shop! I wasn't expecting to have a full-on experience walking into a Chocolate shop, but I did here. I was in town looking for anything local and another shop owner down the street recommended NazBro. Upon arrival, the gentleman at the counter was helping a couple so I had a chance to browse the shelves and decide what to take home with me. You can find a wide range of chocolates -- chocolate covered berries to chocolate covered nuts, truffles and the works! I picked out my stash: an assortment box for $20 and small bags of chocolate malts, chocolate covered blueberries, chocolate covered pretzels, sea salt, caramel and the like. The couple that the Staffer had helped left and he offered my partner and I free samples. "Why, yes!" Of course we did and yummy on that warm day. What came next was the "experience" -- more of a monologue describing the percentage of chocolate a day -- the specific knowledge of how chocolate is a stimulant and how to pair it (with wine and whatnot). I wish I had the conversation recorded, it was serious choco-talk but NazBro knows their industry well and goes to Switzerland annually in the niche world of chocolatiers! I can't recommend coming here enough! It's the real deal. And if you don't live in the area, go to Nazbro dot com to order online. Just be aware that what you purchase are pure pieces -- they *will* go stale in a month's time so eat them when you get them! read more

Excellent chocolate, 5 stars for sure. BUT, I went in today to buy (a lot!) and this guy I never saw before was behind the counter flipping thru his cell phone. I greeted him, and he didn't even acknowledge me. I looked intently at the chocolate in the case and expressed interest, but again, nothing. I looked at the entire display in the store, but he never spoke a word, just wrapped up on his cell. I asked where the guy was that was here earlier (I had stopped by and talked to the owner who is always pleasant and promised I'd come back after walking around town). NOTHING! That indifferent attitude cost you a sizable sale. I rarely get to Occoquan these days, so wanted to stock up, but I said to myself "heck with this' and walked out. The owner needs to fire this idiot or knock some sense into him. read more

Came in today with my parents and bought some delicious fudge and got an education on chocolate content in different confections.

NazBro - so glad that you exist! This small family-owned chocolate shop is owned by Mr. Omar, and he is so great! He is extremely knowledgeable on all things chocolate, and he totally schools you - not only do you walk away with some sweet purchases, but having a great educational experience! We totally loved his sense of humor and his personality! The housemade fudge with a variety of flavors that can appeal to any taste buds are available - from flavors like Penuche to seasonal flavors, NazBro's fudge are smooth, creamy, flavorful, and decadent. Not like any other fudge in other fudge shops - theirs is totally the real deal! You can also dabble in their bulk chocolate covered fruits and candies - I am hooked with their Milk Chocolate Covered Blueberries, their Milk Chocolate Cherries, and their Milk Chocolate Covered Almonds - the blueberries and the cherries are perfectly chewy, and the ratio between the chocolate and the fruit is just right! The almonds are roasted and salted, so I loved that there is a that sweet and saltiness to them! I am very much obsessed with their chocolate covered strawberries - their strawberries are large, juicy, and so so so fresh; the chocolate is smooth and has the perfect crisp and crunch; these are SO satisfying! They also have the mixed berries (with raspberries and blueberries), and these were tasty, too! Mr. Omar also stated that you can call ahead of orders and for any special events that you're thinking of; they are very consumer-focused and all about providing top-notch service and quality! Support this small business - you won't regret it! +chocolate covered strawberries! +chocolate covered blueberries, cherries, and almonds! +delicious housemade fudge! +ask for Mr. Omar! +great friendly service! +plenty of street parking in the front read more

Have a sweet tooth? Need a local client gift? This is your spot!!! I was introduced to this over thanksgiving 'we when I visited my brother who lives within walking distance. The entire area is a quaint place to enjoy a meal, shop stores & take a stroll. My brother describes this as an "experience!" It was. If you think of wine or beer tasting and like that, ask for the chocolate tasting- they will give you a lot of history of how chocolate came to the US, how it was changed based on accessible ingredients and they have fun trivia facts about modern day "chocolate." It was the highlight of our trip & they offer gift cards that they write & mail personally for family, clients, etc. Support Local & Indulge in this sweetness read more

Oh WOW!!! I had an appointment across the street, arrived early so I decided to go here. Best decision ever! The guy inside was so nice and so knowledgeable! Five years later and this place is still sweet (lol, pun intended)! Not only do they still offer a generous amount of free samples but also great conversation as you partake in those samples. They still offer the best and most premium chocolate covered sweets and fudge at reasonable prices. We purchased a water and four small bags of chocolate covered items for $27, not bad. Honestly, give this place a try if you're just meandering through town, you'll enjoy every bite taken and word exchanged. read more

I took my kids here years ago and they still remember it. We came back today after having lunch in Occoquan. I am so glad they are still open and doing well. The owner was just as nice and welcoming as we remembered. He gave us all good portions to sample and talked about the ingredients in the fudge. I usually don't like fudge, but the fudge here is very good, as it has pure ingredients. I love the chocolate-covered nuts. Their prices are very reasonable. I like that you can get different sizes of the chocolate-covered nuts. They make great gifts! read more

I went on line to seek a chocolate shop near my home in Lorton Virginia and I saw NazBro in Occoquan, Virginia. I jumped into my car and arrived at a chocolate shop that is beautiful. When I entered the shop a gentleman behind the counter pleasantly greeted me while he was helping another customer. He offered both his customer and me a sample of fudge which was "Pumpkin" as well as chocolate covered blueberries and cherries. Immediately you could taste the smoothness, delicious and freshness of the fudge and chocolate. I purchased a box of truffles as a gift for some friends and a half pound of chocolate covered pecans and carmel (turtles). I will return in a couple of days to purchase more - I have a new favorite chocolate shop. I want to also thank the gentleman for his graceful and inviting manner when I entered the shop. He was helpful and I made an excellent selection. KirkH read more

Finally a decent local chocolate shop. This lovely chocolatier opened in Occoquan at least 5 years ago. I happened to stop by for the first time soon after the opening. The best tasting chocolate anywhere -- and I've lived in Europe. So good and so much better than the fancy international brands. Now about 5 years later, NazBro is still my favorite for chocolate. Very well-priced chocolates, fudge, and chocolate-covered fruits will not empty your wallet. Today's haul was four "turtles" as my husband calls them and 3 flavored fudges: Pistachio, Butter Pecan and Peanut Butter Chocolate. And all that for less than $30. Along with two "gratis" chocolate pecan pretzel rods. So lovely! Not sure how long this haul will last at my house and I'm sure I better drive back there soon for a refill. I think there were about 30 kinds of fudge and I haven't tried them all. And you better get there fast, too, so you can become a fan. Mmmm.... read more

Best chocolate shop I have ever been to. To be fair, I haven't been to a lot of them. But I don't feel I need to try any others after going to NazBro today. The gentleman who helped me was SO nice-he gave me multiple fudge samples and also gave me little history lessons about a few of them as he cut them. So fun. All of them were delicious. I ended up getting a variety of items from the case..too many to list! Of the ones I have tried so far, my favorites are the chocolate covered marshmallow (with peppermint crunch on the outside), the dark chocolate covered Oreo, and the chocolate sea salt truffle. I can't wait to try the rest over the next few days..if they last that long! read more

Upon entering NazBro chocolates, the owner greeted us, asked if we had any allergies, and started giving us SO MANY samples! It was like meeting a real-life Willy Wonka. We tried several flavors of fudge, which were all creamy and delectable. I ended up buying a slice of the peanut butter chocolate, but they also had more creative flavors as well. In addition, we sampled several of the chocolate covered nuts, which were all AMAZING! The almonds were my favorite- they had the absolute perfect nut to chocolate ratio in my opinion. The shop also sold other candies and chocolate coved items, including chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick. Another group came in as we were sampling and the owner was able to juggle both of our needs single-handedly while being funny, fast, and friendly. The shop had several of their items pre-bagged for convenient shopping, which made traveling with the chocolates very easy too! I loved stopping into this little chocolate shop and I think it's a must-do while in Occoquan! read more

They will let you taste anything before you buy it. And it is all lovely. They have many variations of fudge plus chocolate covered fruit and nuts. (Try the blueberries. You'll be delighted.) I was surprised to find so many chocolate and sweet stores in this tiny quaint town, but after going into a couple, I can wholeheartedly attest that this place is THE BEST! Not only was the chocolate so creamy and smooth and flavorful, but it is made there by the owner. The fact that he actually went to Germany to study chocolate making makes complete sense after we had a few samples. I had no idea just how much goes into making QUALITY chocolate. The owner is so friendly and engaging. I bought a chocolate covered apple (of which I think I am an expert) and I didn't eat it until I got home. I was blown away. It was better than any handcrafted apple and makes Kilwins and Edible Arrangement chocolate covered fruits taste like wax flavored chocolate in comparison. The chocolate covered nuts were slightly salted which gives a nice compliment and the dark chocolate pecan turtle I got was to die for. Go here. You won't regret it!! read more

I visited this store nearly a 2 months ago now, but am just getting around to reviewing. And boy, is it worth a review! I have never had more delicious chocolates. I stumbled upon this store after a trip to Secret Garden cafe & purchased chocolate covered almonds, cherries, and blueberries for an upcoming wine & cheese event I was hosting with my girlfriends. These chocolates were the HIT of the party and ever since, people have specifically requested them at dinner parties and gatherings we've hosted. Highly recommend this family-owned shop. My husband and I stumbled into this small business today and were BLOWN AWAY by the experience. Best chocolate place! They use great quality ingredients and you can taste it. My kids love the gummy bears too. Worth the trip!

Okay, so I might have automatic bias because I live in the building, but I've been getting chocolate and fudge from Nazbro loooong before I've started living here. You know the movie Chocolat, where the shop owner's chocolate makes everyone who eats it go into a mixture of frenzy and ecstasy? This is pretty much what chocolate at Nazbro does to people who eat it and you just can't help but want to keep eating more and more... My boyfriend is obsessed with the Penuche/Dulce de Leche fudge and I'm a huge fan of the pecan caramel explosions (turtles). The owner, Omar, is an awesome guy and will offer up a sample of just about anything in his shop. It is the most bittersweet thing in the world to live above a chocolate shop...no pun intended (well maybe). I know I might just die of chocolate overdose one day but I can't think of a better way to go :P read more

Great little fudge and candy shop in the heart of Occoquan's historic district. We went for the first time and we were excited about all of the selections to choose from! The man working was very engaging and had us come up to the counter and try several samples of fudge. They were all delicious! He gave a histical background of how fudge came to be as we sampled each one. I loved the Tres Leches. We also got the gummy bears that are made there, the marshmallow pops dipped in chocolate and a chocolate dipped oreo. Very tasty! read more
