We tried three items: the red velvet cake, the mocha cake, and an apple pastry (not sure of the exact name, but it reminded me of an apple turnover/empanada). Let's start with the red velvet cake, so good. Moist, flavorful, and honestly better than I expected. Red velvet is one of those cakes that's easy to mess up, but they executed it perfectly. What impressed me even more is that we bought it right before closing, didn't eat it immediately, and it still tasted amazing hours later even after being refrigerated. The mocha cake was well-made, soft, spongy, and clearly high quality, but it just wasn't for me. It has a strong coffee flavor, so if you're a coffee person, you'll probably love it. For me, it was about a 6/10. Now the real star: the apple pastry. This was everything. Perfectly flaky, lightly crisp on the outside, and filled with fresh, flavorful apples. It melted in your mouth! could've easily eaten multiples of these!! Service was also a highlight. Even though we came in right before closing, the staff was kind, patient, and efficient. Nothing felt rushed, which I really appreciated. The shop itself is cute and quaint. Perfect for a quick stop or a casual treat. Overall, Paris Baguette delivered. Some items may come down to personal preference, but the quality is there. I'd absolutely go back, especially for that red velvet cake and the apple pastry . Sidenote: they also have candles & birthday decor for purchase!

The customers are kind of rude though- leaving tables and floors messy with spilled foods or drinks- which is unfortunate.

Stopped by Tous les Jours and everything we tried was honestly so good…read more In the photo is the garlic sausage block, which we asked them to warm up, along with the garlic cream cheese bread (the one cut in half). The garlic cream cheese bread was AMAZING - unbelievably soft and fluffy with a warm, creamy center. At first glance it looks like it would be heavy, but it's actually really light and easy to eat. The garlic flavor was perfect and not overpowering. The garlic sausage block was also delicious, buttery and savory with the sausage baked right inside the bread. For something sweet we got the chocolate cream donut, which was the perfect level of sweetness - not overly sugary at all. For drinks we tried the iced matcha tiramisu and the iced jasmine green tea. The matcha was really good quality. I couldn't taste the tiramisu flavor too much (probably because we mixed it), but the matcha itself was excellent. The iced jasmine green tea was exceptional - super refreshing and hydrating. The cashier was also very patient and helpful with my indecisiveness while ordering, which I really appreciated. The items we asked to have warmed up came out pretty quickly too. The space itself is really nice as well - lots of seating and plenty of natural light, making it a great place to sit and enjoy your food. The music was also really nice and added to the relaxed vibe. Overall everything was fresh, soft, and really well made. Definitely recommending this place to everyone I know and coming back ASAP.

They have everything from small bites like cookies and pastries to full size cakes & tarts. They also have single serve slices of some of their cakes like the chocolate mousse cake. We went for breakfast sandwiches and tried both of the base bread options. The snowflake bread was soft and pillowy (my favorite) and the brotchen bread was slightly crisper & a little bit saltier, also amazing. Eggs are fluffy and a great portion size. Added cheese to each and smoked bacon. A delightful breakfast treat. On the way out, I got a baguette for a last minute appetizer need. It was so soft and freshly baked (and big!). I'm going back today for more fresh bread. There's also plenty to shop for like mustards, jams, cheese and charcuterie, grab and go items, and beverages. This place has summer chalet vibes & is very upbeat and friendly. Lines can get long during typical busy hours, so it's not super quick if you're in a rush. Great place to come relax.

As one might expect, their pastries were lavish and had many different ways of delivering chocolate. I saved only a seasonal Sakura for myself as we approach cherry blossom season. I got a large spread which was consumed by a happy group. Adding a farmer's bread, which was a light rye, as well as some imported German butter, also went over well. I did not have need of the imported chocolates and other packaged goods, but there was certainly plenty there worthy of perusal.

Hole-in-the-wall strip plaza cafe. Very busy on weekends, we got there on a Sunday just after 10am…read moreand not long after we sat down a long lineup formed. Tons of seating now as they have a front & back section which I think is newer. Several big-screen TV's playing soccer - super foreign and cool. All Latino customers here which is a good thing as far as authenticity. Staff did speak OK English enough to ask us about options in our order. You order and pay at the counter, then they bring food out to your table. All disposable tableware here. And beware - portions don't look filling but they will make your stomach explode. *Pupusas: We ordered the "mixed" which is a set of 3 pupusas, I'm going to assume a pork, a cheese & beans, and a chicken - based on my tasting of them. They are fresh tasting, lightly greased, encased in corn flour. They aren't the most filling-loaded pupusas I've, had but the quality is still very delicious and excellent for the price. *Tacos de carne: YUM!! Corn tacos with beef, and plenty of fresh chopped veggie fixins in the tacos. They are very generous with lime wedges that are actually almost half a lime each, and you get two lime pieces with your order of two tacos. This made me feel like I was down in California again. *Yuca con chicharon: Fried yuca strips with humungous chunks of pork rinds and Salvadoran pickled slaw. The pork chunks are lightly yet beautifully flavored with a tough outside and a somewhat juicy inside. The slaw here has more of a tomato flavor which seemed overpowering - I usually like a more tart sour slaw to complement the savory pork. Nonetheless this dish was excellent. Multiple ladies on Yelp have complained here about the men who stare. I'm a man, came with a man friend, we're not Latino, and we got stared at quite a bit - but it was only from an old couple. In my culture (Vietnamese) many older folks will stare at the non-Vietnamese customers because of our amazement and curiosity that they enjoy our food. I would hope that this old couple at J&S meant the same thing. Just give them dirty looks and glares when they stare at you and they will turn away. No biggie, what are they gonna do to you? And I'm so coming back here, so glad I live just a few blocks away from this gem of an authentic Salvadoran cafe.

Probably because most clients are Latinos with LOW expectations. Last time the gave me brown old avocado this time they don't even have my order even when I called way before hand. If you skip the combo, order something from Afghanistan. I recommend one of four bolani- a flat bread with filling. The squash bolani was large, hot, and very tasty. The worker at first looked confused when I mentioned the weekend special platter, and after I showed her the Instagram post from Jummah Bakery about the special, she at first said that it was a breakfast item only. The Instagram post listed a time from 10am-1pm, and it was noon when I arrived. When I pointed out the time, the worker seemed to make excuses again to say that the item wasn't available that day. This was despite signage in the restaurant mentioning about the weekend special. Also I was weirded out by the fact that there are burgers on the menu, it seemed really unnecessary. *Wraps: We ordered the chicken kabob wrap and beef gyro. I suppose they were edible, but very lacking of the level of depth and flavor typical of Afghan food that you'd find in the typical Afghan kabob restaurants in the area. The chicken wrap even contained ketchup which turned the flavor into basic American!! *Desserts: We also ordered multiple pastries / sweets that were behind the very inviting glass displays. My favorite was the baklava, the remaining ones I tried were just okay. As usual with this type of cuisine, the desserts are quite sweet. *Tea: They have multiple types of chai tea, I ordered one, it seemed to lack in actual tea flavor and had a weird egg flavor that didn't balance well with the tea. I wouldn't order it again. As much as I want to support a neighborhood ethnic-owned business, the questionable customer service and watered-down food makes me hesitant. It's really sad because the bakery looks very beautiful and has so much potential, but I think it's not managed well, the customer experience ends up feeling bizarre and inauthentic.
