I am a regular customer of PJ's and when I came in to order a 16 oz Bananas Foster I noticed RJ was placing a sign on the counter saying they didn't accept cash. I talked with another employee and asked if you quit accepting cash because that was how I was planning to pay. He told me it was because they were out of change I paid the exact amount of $6.31 and received my coffee. It was a minor thing to me but the next person coming in may have been planning to pay cash and have the exact change as I did and leave because of the sign. The sign should have read out of change please pay with exact amount or use credit card. WOW! Another great experience at the other PJ'S Coffee! Per my last review for their Maryland location, here in VA was just as bomb (although i never expected less). Came in to get some beignets after pedicures for a flight and it was EVERYTHING we were hoping for! From the customer service to the cleanliness- we walked out completely satisfied! As I wrote this, i'm sad I can't remember the young lady who took our order, but I just wanted to thank her for her suggestions && friendliness. Now that I know here is just as good as I wanted && expected it to be, I will for sure be bringing my colleagues in or suggesting here for breakfast at the office on Tuesdays! Decided to try a different Aldi's and stumbled upon PJ's on this hot summer day. They have posters for different drinks on the windows that look amazing!! But I wasn't in the mood for an energy drink. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the friendly barista and hit with the sweet smell of beignets. Ordered a frozen lemonade. Something so simple yet a lot of places can mess it up. Not here. It was so smooth and perfectly slushy. Tasted all natural. And the ambiance!? They had early 2000's pop punk playing while I was there and had Winx Club playing on the tv!? Are you kidding me!! Love!! Next time I come I'll definitely be ordering some beignets and one of those fun energy drinks!! read more

Pros: clean, great service, friendly staff, plenty of seating, variety of non coffee drinks and breakfast sandwiches. Cons: The coffee was not great but it depends on your preferences. I ordered an iced vanilla latte. Normally I get the smallest size and it's usually a double but they only put 1 shot of espresso in their 16 oz drinks so I had to get a 24 oz. In terms of the taste, unfortunately it was VERY sweet. I'm not sure if it's the quality of the syrup or just their style of making lattes but I could barely drink it. My tip is that if you're going to order a drink here, you need to be very specific about how you want it to be prepared. The beignet was warm and fresh, yes, but it was *drowning* in clumpy powdered sugar. I know what a beignet is but this seemed like the ratios were off - it was not really pleasant to eat and just felt like I was eating spoonfuls of sugar. Again, maybe I should have specified a light dusting but I was trying to trust the process. I might go back and try just a black coffee or something more simple to see if the drink was just a fluke and will update my review then if so! read more

Popped in after an Aldi's trip. Grabbed a hot coffee and a sweet treat. Service was good. They answered my questions and helped me make a decision since this was my first time visiting there. There was a bit of a wait for the pastry but I can see that as being normal since beignets have to be fried. They were just okay. I would maybe visit again if I'm in the area. There was plenty of seating and parking is in abundance, too. My drink was decent. It was different but not bad. read more

I stopped in on the wrong day! Opened my app and was happy to see they had a shop close to the detonation I was headed. Placed my order through the app and arrived to see they are actually located at the bottom of an apartment building. And on a nasty rainy Saturday-they were having their grand opening. The store was jammed packed! Eventually i made my way to the front to pick up my order which was ready. Parking sucks! I wanted to literally just be in & out lol maybe I'll stop by if I'm ever in the area...or maybe I'll just stick to the 2 locations I know! But Kudos to you PJ's!!! I see you guys! I just walked out of PJ's Coffee, and sadly, I can't recommend this location anymore. I waited a full twenty minutes for a single specialty latte--far too long for a coffee shop, especially when the café wasn't exactly bustling with baristas. Two employees were working, several customers drifted about, and yet there was no real sense of momentum behind the counter. I placed my one drink order and settled in, only to watch a growing pile of tickets gather like unanswered letters. It became clear they were prioritizing food orders and mobile pickups, which I understand, but two people who arrived after me received their drinks before mine. Meanwhile, my lonely little ticket sat there, last in line, untouched. If you're popping in for a bite or using mobile order, you'll probably be fine at this location. But if you're ordering a drink in person--especially anything beyond the basics--I'd skip it. As someone who grew up in New Orleans and has loved PJ's for years, it's disappointing to admit this, but this is the third strike for me, and I think I'm finally bowing out. read more

My husband and I attended the grand opening of PJ's today. They did not disappoint. I had a simple ice coffee, I did not add sugar, but they was something special about the cream and coffee blend. I can't wait to go back. We also enjoyed warm Beignets- what a treat, better than a donut. The owner, manager and staff were so friendly and welcoming. I can see this being a cool neighborhood hang out. There was plenty of free parking. Worth the drive from Kingstowne. read more

My 5th time at this PJ's; the last 2 times have not been so great. During my 4th visit, it was very busy and it appeared that only one person was making the drinks. It took approx 25 mins to get my drink. Drink was extremely sweet and the flavor was off. On my 5th visit, I placed an app order. When I walked in, there were no customers. I was not greeted, and went to sit down on the right side where I've usually picked up my app order. Three customers walk in, placed their orders and left. I stood up and finally someone one asked if I'm picking up an order. They then directed me that they moved pickup order to the other side. The drink was not great again; the taste was off. My first 3 visits, the drinks were great but the last 2 times not so much. read more

I came here around 5:35pm on their opening day. I waited in line for about 10 minutes. They offered a free mini frozen coffee. It was decent since it was frozen. I ordered a white chocolate latte large, received an extra large... with sweet cold foam and caramel drizzle and an order of beignets. The coffee was ready within 6 minutes, but I waited for the beignets for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The latte it's self was a 6/10, really standard, nothing special, normally when I order a drink with sweet cold foam I get a sipping lid but I was given a dome lid which defeats the purpose of the cold foam. The beignets were freshly made, which is great but not an hour and half worth... however in taste it was an 8/10. The workers were very friendly and I could tell they were kinda awkward with the stares of people waiting for the beignets. The staff seemed unprepared also, lots of questions, lots of redirecting going around, everyone seems to be learning still. The material used for the cups are sturdy, however they only have one size straw, which is annoying when I was given an extra large cup and the straw kept going in, so I had to keep sticking my fingers inside my cup. The area is also very compressed and hot, but like it said it was their opening day so it is to be expected. Overall my experience here was a 5/10. I came out with a headache, and late to my evening plans. I don't plan on visiting it again anytime soon, but I am willing to give it a try again further into the future. read more

The beignets are delicious, but the 15 minute wait when the store wasn't at all busy was confusing, and the answer when I asked was "well, it takes a while." Obviously. Also, I wanted a decaf latte and my sister wanted an iced black tea. They were out of decaf and black tea, and said it would be a week before more decaf would arrive. I can't have caffeine for medical reasons so that is disappointing. Not sure we will be back. read more

It's a great place for WFH and the menu is bomb best beignets in the DMV. They are still new so looking forward to seeing them grow.
