I tried the biscoff cookie latte and it has a very robust coffee flavor that is truly what you want when you order an iced coffee. The cold foam and biscoff crumbles add a great touch. Java Loco is a quaint, quiet cafe in a strip mall. There's a lot of items on the Menu and the décor is very cute. It's quiet for people that want to get their work done as even the staff are quiet as well. Most people come in to get their drinks and then leave, just from my observation here. I ended up getting a latte and a chocolate croissant. Despite on how quiet it is, I was able to enjoy myself reading a few chapters of a book I brought along with! I've become quite the connoisseur of both breakfast sandwiches AND milk teas over the years and these guys have the best of both that I've seen in the area. I'm at the Van Dorn location every few weeks but always a nice treat. They've got an incredibly large menu full of hot drinks, iced drinks, boba tea, Vietnamese coffee, a plethora of syrup flavors, sandwiches, pastries, and then some! We opted for an iced horchata and iced skim mocha. Both were good, though I could have used a bit more flavor/cinnamon in my horchata. We also split a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant. It was easy to eat (some croissants are so flaky it's just a mess and not worth it to me) and really tasty. The 3 items were $30 after a 15% tip which, you know, is on point for the DMV. Our barista was very friendly and asked if I'd like a shot in my horchata which I couldn't say no to. All and all, an experience that left us saying we would be back. read more

There are seats of all kinds, including diner seats, outlets, and strong wifi. The menu is diverse offering coffee, bubble tea, and food. The chocolate chip pastry looked good from behind the glass box, but I opted for a small milk black tea with boba. It was delicious! A true hidden gem for matcha lovers in the DMV! While their matcha latte is exceptional, the strawberry matcha is a standout--creamy, perfectly blended, and refreshing. The best part is the real strawberry bits in their homemade puree, which add a wonderful texture to every sip. However, after the 3rd visit I noticed that these ladies would not even look at me or acknowledge me while waiting at the register. Quite a little before lunch on a Thursday with just a couple of tables occupied. Ordered a Java Cappuccino (added syrup is a twist and it worked). Bacon, egg and cheese croissant was tasty-although if you don't specify the cheese you will get American (I forgot). I'm going to guess they have a bakery make their Coffee Cake-regardless, like no other Coffee cake I've had in a good way. Dense, rich, not too sweet-must try. It's a mango drink with passion fruit, jasmine tea and mango jelly. Nice and tart! I added boba pearls. The boba is on the firm side but still tasty and chewy. I also like their black milk tea and Thai tea! The shop had a variety of baked goods and plenty of tables and outlets if you need a quiet spot to do work. The drinks were just okay; the flavor profiles in both weren't very strong, and you can definitely find tastier options. The chocolate croissant was, unfortunately, just a downright horrible pastry. It was completely covered in chocolate, and yet it tasted nothing like it. It was stale and spongy instead of the standard fluffy and flaky texture. I popped in for lunch the other day and got the Gouda gobbler and the Vietnamese iced coffee. The iced coffee was very good. The sandwich was okay. I don't eat mustard or Mayo, and unfortunately there were no other sauce options for me to have on my Sammy. Not a big deal, and not the reason for 3 stars. I ended up knocking to 3 stars because there was just too much on the sandwich for me to enjoy. Especially the cheese - I love cheese, but I ended up having to take about 4 slices off the sandwich to get a good balance between cheese and other stuff. They have a large coffee, tea, and food menu. I am not an avid coffee drinker, but the mocha chiller was AMAZING, I would say it's the BEST coffee I've ever had! My wife also loved her hot mocha! Nice, cute shop with a variety on the menu. We ordered hot boba or "bubble" tea. The tea was good and I liked that it just came with the teabag. If it were solely a boba joint, they'd have batches of tea ready to pour. So it was cool to just have my individual tea and boba as added. My only real critique was that they didn't cut a bigger hole in our cup tops for the boba straws so I ripped one myself. Other than that, the spot itself was a nice spot for a one-on-one hang. There were other people inside doing work or socializing in intimate groups, also. I'd recommend this spot. Sorry I can't comment/review on the food. I love this place and have been many times. It's smallish on the inside but usually I can find a place. They don't mind if you sit and work, and there are plenty of outlets. Their breakfast sandwiches are great, and cheaper than other coffee shops I sometimes go to for breakfast, making this my go-to spot. Also, they're open late, which is a plus for me as I like a late night place to go and order a smoothie, or a bubble tea, or a tea, and it's not too crowded or noisy at night either. read more
