Located in a more industrial area of Springfield, you can find random eateries and cafes around. We ordered: +a latte with oat milk +and, a Mexican Mocha - prepeared with espresso and Mexican mocha mix, topped with whipped cream and chili flakes Both drinks were not piping hot and more lukewarm; the whipped cream was artificial, and the chili flakes seemed old and expired as it had an off-putting taste to it; both drinks had a weird aftertaste and as just not enjoyable. A cozy coffee shop offering excellent service and friendly staff. We were looking for coffee, and Google led us to this location. Prices are comparable to Starbucks, but the quality here is noticeably better. They offer daily drip coffee selections as well as several specialty drinks. While only basic pastries are available, the focus is clearly on the coffee. The shop also appears to be pet-friendly, as we saw a dog during our visit. Parking is convenient and easily accessible. It was a quiet day, but I can't image how busy they will get in normal morning or weekend. read more

I went here late Saturday morning with no expectations. What a lovely little place tucked away in a warehouse area. The outside is just the door and signs -- nothing to prepare you for the open coffee roasting operation feel and cozy vibe inside. Serious coffee drinkers come quick. I ordered a Cortado w/ oat milk. The cashier up front was friendly and on my way out helped advise me on which beans to get. Yes, I walked away with their Quixote espresso blend, which is what they use in their espressos. Coffee came quickly and while the foam art was not peak, who cares. The coffee itself was fantastic. It was smooth, rich and no acid on the tongue. There are precious few tables in there and a table of four feels crowded. I love it. It feels very intimate, almost like you are behind the scenes. Stopped by for a little pick me up. I love that. They roast their own coffee. Industrial, low-key, cozy vibes with a small seating area. Fully open concept where you can see the roasters and all of the equipment and supply, which is pretty cool. You know EXACTLY where your cuppa came from. I ordered the triple shot oat milk latte with cinnamon powder. Very well done. Creamy and delicious. Service was friendly. My only issue is that alt milks are $1 surcharge, which is a frustration I have with the industry is a whole. However, many local shops, even big chains like Starbucks and Peet's, are now offering alt milks for no additional charge. Very solid 4+/5. Will be back. Recommend if you are in the area! read more

My friend recommended this coffee shop while on a work trip, and it instantly became my favorite cafe to visit on the daily! I ordered the Iced Lavender Matcha Latte, the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, and the Cookie Dough Croissant nearly every visit! The good: I love the Iced Lavender Matcha Latte! I enjoyed it so much that I would order two orders of it because it was never enough. The Cookie Dough Croissant is absolutely delicious, sweet, and unique since you won't find this anywhere else. It could definitely used more chocolate chips, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin is absolutely amazing if you are a pumpkin lover. The cream cheese goes really well and helps make the muffin stay moist and creamy with each bite. The bad: The Iced Lavender Matcha Latte comes in a standard sized cup, where they only offer one size, but I wish they had a 20oz or 30oz cup because I will instantly chug this down in one gulp. This was close to my nearest Costco so I had to check it out! Unfortunately I was unable to sit down and admire everything they had in the seating area but I was fortunate enough to take photos. Parking can be limited as there aren't much spots in front of the shop but I'm sure you can park anywhere that's open since it's a giant industrial part. Walking in there is the fragrance of coffee in the air, and it smells really good. There's shelves of merchandise and lots of available bagged coffee beans to grab and go with. There's a board of their seasonal drinks but if you turn towards the counter, there's the menu as well. Since time was limited, I went with something I like to go for so I got the seasonal Matcha Lavender Latte. I was greeted by a staff member and my order was immediately placed. I got it to go within a few minutes and I went outside to taste test. The Matcha Lavender Latte was made with of course, Matcha, Homemade Lavender Syrup and Steamed Milk. It was smooth, not too sweet but just the right temperature to sip on the way back home. It was delicious. I do want to come back to try out their pastries if they have any and perhaps sit down in their store, the ambiance inside looks vast and features many tables to do your work at. The coffee is delish here. The almond or the spinach and cheese croissant are my go to's. The service can stand for some fine tuning depending on who is at the counter but overall they're accommodating to your needs despite the 'tude. The place is such a vibe to me. My father and I have made it our little weekend routine to go to Cervantes every Saturday to sit down over some coffee and a chai latte (my favorite) and enjoy each other's company. The workers and the owner herself are kind and serve us with a smile every time--something I need after a long week. I am always pleased with their chai latte! They have amazing coffee for the diehard as well as fun concoctions for anyone looking for something sweet. Very hipster vibe in the back room and laid back. In an industrial part of Springfield, Virginia is a woman-owned and immigrant-owned coffee roastery/cafe. After growing up with a grandfather with a coffee farm in Bolivia, the owner now sources single-origin coffee for the D.C. area. Stopping in on a Friday morning to work, here's my experience. 1) Coffee: Beans from Central and South America are roasted onsite so the smell of coffee surrounds every room. Their menu is large and I really enjoyed the iced honey lavender latte. A sign in the roastery lists the countries where they source beans and the owner visits each farm regularly- Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Honduras, Colombia, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. 2) Food: They sell a variety of pastries. My cheese danish was large and came out warm on a plate. It was delicious! 3) Space: When you first walk in, the space seems tiny. There's a room where you order and it looks dark and old. Walk past it to a medium-sized space where there's the roastery, coffee lab, and tables. There are more tables upstairs! The owner or manager was rude and inhuman when my 2 years old daughter wanted to use the bathroom and refused because they said there were close whole the door was wide open. I use to come here often m. I liked this place. I live near by but unfortunately I can't support this place since I saw how they treated there customers nerveless a 2 year old. They have the best iced latte around, and that's not hyperbole. It's fantastic and better than any of the other local or chain coffee shops. It's a pretty hip, relaxed atmosphere too, such is nice. Parking can be a problem, especially mid-morning on weekdays. I'm not sure if they have legal overflow parking or not. My only "complaint" is that I get charged a different price each time for the same order. I normally order us two iced lattes. I've been charged $12.66, $11.78, $11.28, and $10.44. Image attached. Husband and I were doing our weekly coffee shop adventure and came across this gem. Although the exterior is a lil sus, once you walk in the vibe is just amazing. We ordered the mocha, iced honey lavender latte to accompany our ham and cheese quiche, savory turkey and cheese croissant and apple pop tart for a sweet treat. This place did not disappoint! My daughter loves their iced matcha, but i hate going here. First because I have ordered several other hot coffee drinks and none have come out correctly. For example, today I ordered a vanilla latte that definitely has no vanilla in it. I knew I should have tried it before I left but I was in a rush. Secondly the parking is a nightmare. Because of its location on Fullerton, it only has a few spots for customers and many opt to camp out. Thirdly the hours are inconvenient at best. It doesn't open until 8 am, closes at 3 pm and is even closed on Sundays. I get that it is a small, locally owned coffee shop and I prefer to support locally but I always leave this place annoyed. 2 stars for the matcha. read more

This is a cool spot. Don't be fooled by the industrial parkway they are located on. They have a good coffee. The staff was so friendly and the place is clean. Staff was super friendly explaining the brewing methods. Staff playing fun music as they roast coffee in the back. Why the 4 stars?! The coconut macaroon latte is to die for, and the ambiance is pretty nifty considering it looks like it's built in a car shop. I've never been to something so unique so it's pretty cool to see. The coconut macaroon latte was so smooth none of the burnt starbucks taste from their expresso. It was a perfect balance and not too sweet or taste from artificial coconut. It was pleasantly delicious more so that I craved for another right after I finished. Luckily this spot is only 2 minutes down the road from me! Can't wait to try more seasonal and original menu items. My only drawback from giving this place a 5 star is the service. The gal who assisted didn't even acknowledge that I was there for almost 8 minutes and she wasn't even doing anything. Just on her phone... I had my daughter with me and wanted to get in and out. The gal wasn't even friendly she legit stared at me and waited for me to give her the order and when asked a question about the cup sizes she gave me the most mono toned answer. "Seasonal drinks come in one size" with no expression. After I ordered, there no thank or "I'll be right back." Just walked to the back and made my drink. Talk about a hidden gem! This place is an unassuming little coffee shop tucked away in a very peculiar building. In fact, the parking situation almost persuades you to go somewhere else. However, I beg you, don't. You will be missing out on a great experience. Cervantes gets its name from Miguel de Cervantes the author of the famous Spanish literary classic and history's first modern novel, "Don Quixote." In fact, you can purchase a sticker with Quixote's likeness on it for $1.00. The coffee is amazing and the pastries are to die for! My wife ordered an iced orange latte (seasonal) and I ordered a hot lavender latte (seasonal). Both were very delicious! The iced latte was perfectly refreshing for a hot summer day while the hot latte was transcendent, exporting me to total relaxation. To complement these drinks we enjoyed an airy chocolate croissant and a sweet, fluffy strawberry cream cheese muffin. They serve more pastries than just these two. The others looked equally amazing, and they even have gluten-free options. Also, just to add a little more enticement, a lot of their syrups are homemade. The shop is a lot bigger than you will initially think. Walking in you'll notice that before you get to the checkout counter there is a room with specialty items and coffee for purchase. After you pass by the checkout counter, you'll enter the large seating area filled with chairs, tables, and comfy seats...oh my. Upstairs, yes, there's an upstairs, there is more seating and a little bookshelf in case you want to do some reading. However, before you get too comfortable make sure you don't stay more than an hour, per the green signs on the tables (psst, I don't think they strictly enforce this though). There are two single, unisex bathrooms in the shop, one upstairs and one downstairs, both clean. Additionally, while in the seating area, you'll notice the beautiful, relaxing Latin music filling the silence. Lastly, let's talk about parking. Parking is horrible. There are only about 6 reserved spots for the coffee shop. They are labeled 7644 and are directly in front of the shop entrance. All the other spots are reserved for the other 20 million shops located in the same building. Overall, what a great little shop providing an awesome experience. I thoroughly enjoyed their coffee beans and lattes but the customer service is horrendous. No smile, no "sorry for the wait" and today was the last straw for me. I ordered for an iced latte from the front Hispanic lady. A different employee, the barista, made me a hot latte. That's fine but I asked if it could be iced instead. The barista asked me if I ordered it iced because it's a different price in which I responded yes. The Hispanic girl who took my order was standing beside her immediately stated an accusatory "no you didn't" and just glared at me. I'm not one to argue who said what or who said that because even if I refuted with her that I did indeed order an iced latte, what would that even accomplish? Well carrying my heavy toddler in one arm, I just said "ok I'll just pay for the difference" The nice barista went ahead to make my iced latte and comped the difference. But MAN did that leave a bad taste in my mouth and disgust for such terrible customer service. Mind you, when she took my order, she did not clarify whether it would be iced or hot. She may have missed the "iced" part when I said iced Spanish latte but I'm quite sure most other places would ask to clarify if the customers wanted it iced or hot. While looking for new coffee spots, I found Cervantes on yelp! It seemed like a good candidate from all the reviews I read. Since I lived nearby, I thought why not try it today.
