My company Christmas party was held at Cody's in the room by the bar and it was FABULOUS!!! Vicki, the owner/manager, worked with our last minute party and had everything set up. She proactively checked in with me 2 days before to confirm the party and numbers and selected Cat and Taylor to be our servers. They were both excellent! People arrived, they took orders, we played games, they brought appetizers, we played more games, they brought dinners, we played more games and they cleaned up. It went incredibly smoothly and I would absolutely plan another event at Cody's! Oh, and the food was delicious and everyone got to order what they wanted off the regular menu. Cat and Taylor were into our party spirit and helped everyone enjoy their time. Vicki checked on me, the organizer, to be sure I had taken a moment to eat. Very thoughtful! Too Long Didn't Read: it's OK. So yeah just stopping through and everything in town pretty much closes at 10. I was looking for a place that had outdoor seating but looks can be deceiving. We Arrived after 9 but there is no outside seating. Thought there was from the pictures but I was mistaken. We asked if we could have our dog but they declined. This isn't exactly fine dining so it wasn't an unreasonable request. So instead I put in an order for "To Go" for my girlfriend at 9:30. I told them my girlfriend was waiting on it but they didn't prioritize the order. In fact our food arrived first, around 9:50. I reminded them my girlfriend was waiting for her ToGo order several times and the waitress said she would bring it out. Instead the waitress focused on little things like bringing the ketchup out and doing a birthday for the next table. My girlfriend didn't get her ToGo order until after 10, more than 30 minutes after she ordered. Poor girl had to wait outside in the parking lot with our dog the whole time. It wasn't the end there - had to wait over 20 minutes to get our checks. Overall the food is Ok, nothing memorable, but slightly above a corporate chain. It hits the spot is all I can really say. I imagine there is a lack of better options in the area so the clientele aren't as discerning. Also no craft beer options, in 2021 I would expect a roadhouse grill to have something better than Budweiser and Coronas. Lots of different options for fries and sides and such but most of them are mediocre. Overall if you're stopping through and you need something that hits the spot, this place will do. First let me say Lizbeth "Liz" amazing server. She's great I will always ask for her! Now got the cheese logs they were good the marinara this time was better than it's been any other time. I got the garlic shrimp first order was way overcooked second order was better not great but better. And to show you that things are not consistent first order came with it good amount of fries when the replacement order came to the table it had about a quarter of the fries that came the first time. Fries are never hot there! Now for the chocolate cake don't be tempted to get it. It's a good size piece of cake but it is the driest non-chocolate-tasting cake I've ever eaten! $12 never again! read more

In town with my brother and came here to have a nice steak dinner before doing a spartan race the next morning. Mal was our server and she was awesome! Food was great and the mojito was really good! Came back the next night after the race and super tired and hungry. Ralene took care of us at the bar which was really busy she is awesome too. Great food again will be back next year!!! read more

Walked in and the host was pleasant. She directed us to the bar area to sit at the "high top booths" as she stated they were called. We went to sit and a "Manager" came and greeted us to say they aren't seating there. I let him know we were directed there by the host. She denied sending us there. We left because management didn't believe we were directed there by their incompetent staff. I have never had such bad customer service anywhere in Highlands County. This is exactly why I choose to support local business instead of chain restaurants for the majority of my business. I sincerely hope they can correct their mistakes going forward and learn from this type of behavior. I won't waste my money at this place ever again. read more

Great steak and prime rib, both perfectly cooked. 2 for 1 beers until 7pm and prompt service at the bar, and reasonable prices. Endless salad was underwhelming, but we did not go there for salad. When we got there we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table at the bar. I peeked in there and saw empty seats at the bar so we went in and sat there. Looking around there were at least 8 empty tables and booths available. Guess there was no one to wait the tables that remained empty our entire time there. I would definitely go back Hope they get more people to wait tables so people dont have to wait around outside with the bugs. read more

Always went to Cody's and also took our employees there until we had such a disappointing experience on 11-27-22 by the manager. We love the waitresses Taylor, Tia, and Sam. Jamie makes going to lunch at Cody's a memorable and fun experience. She is always so friendly and helpful, you feel right at home every time, so we always ask for her at lunch. Cody's food is awesome, so eating out there is always something to look forward to. Taylor is another server who is also a star at Cody's. She took 14 of us on on July 4th, when we had a terrible encounter with the manager at The Sunset Grille on the evening of July 4th, 2019. Cody's made a table ready for us with practically no warning that evening and saved the day for us! I can't recommend Cody's more highly, and we hope to have many more meals there. read more

Always good food. The salad and warm rolls are something I always look forward to having. Waiters and waitresses are always friendly. Food is usually served without much waiting. Got a chance to revisit over the Memorial Day weekend. Also got a chance to share with my father the delicious food and great homemade dressing offered. Our kids are growing up and one ordered the Buffalo Chicken appetizer as his meal. 7 nice strips that appeared hand breaded. Our other son got the early bird fried garlic shrimp and baked potato. They upcharge for loaded potato and truthfully their potato is quite big and bland. Perhaps salting the potato and offering a unique topper. The adults also had the Sirloin Steak, Boneless Pork Tenderloin, and the Fried Chicken. All were cooked as to order and enjoyed. Each had the salad with homemade Ranch dressing which is garlicky and wonderful. Our waitress was very much on to refills and other needs during meal. I hate to offer that she wrote her name on the table covering, and I forgot it. The only issue at all was our table was broken and leaning improperly made one side pop up and always felt like we would soon wear the food. A little bit of a wait, which of course suggests that it's a popular place to eat. I had the ribeye steak which was excellent. My date had chopped steak with mushrooms and onions with a bowl of French onion soup. The meals was tasty. Service was provided by Tia who was attentive and thoughtful and very pleasant. We dined on Father's Day 2024 with a party of 9. Our server, Taylor G., was fantastic! She was on point, attentive, and sweet! Everyone enjoyed their food. Came back again for the 2nd time this week. Short wait tonight even though it was very busy. Our server Rosa was amazing and the manger came by to make sure we were happy, a nice touch that you do not see at a lot of restaurants any more. Food was great! Generous portions even have enough leftover for lunch tomorrow. The unlimited salad bowl (not sure with the dressing is but it is the best) and the rolls with the cinnamon butter are out of this world. Vicki and her Husband are from the Bronx NY and my Stephen use to eat at her family's restaurant often over the years. Vicki and her husband have Classed up Cody's!!! The Steaks are a thousand times better quality than the previous owners.. And Vicki came to our table to greet us. It's truly more of a family atmosphere now!!! AND.... After week at beach, nice to come home for a Sunday afternoon lunch at a well run local favorite eatery. Full bar with seating. Covered tables gladly pushed together to accommodate large groups. Great location and great service from "Jenny" who was happy to tell me about their happy hour 2-for-1 on drafts. My first Shocktop was quite tasty as was the second. A good deal for under $3.50! While waiting for my main, the salad was very good. Maybe too much dressing, but it was much more than simple lettuce. Tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons and more were good. A second bowl of it would have been better but at that point, my main course arrived. The potato was baked perfectly. Very fluffy, nice skin. The cheese, butter and sour cream on top with some chives and bacon bits were excellent. I ate every single little bit of it. The steak, topped with mushrooms for an extra buck, was only okay. Cooked medium instead of medium rare, it was an odd cut. Not quite sirloin, it needed some effort with the knife to get through it. Tasty, but tough. Very "meh." Overall, a four-star meal. I could return to Cody's. I'd have something other than the sirloin next time. read more

Good food, generally prompt service. It's basically a steak and side place. Stack of onion rings needs to be shared- the half stack is really a lot depending on the rest of your order. Seems like they have lightened the salad quantity that is supposed to be endless with a full meal. Rolls and sweet potatoes ( especially) with cinnamon butter are delicious. The house sangria is wicked. They have several " special" menu items, peanuts are now in a bag( less people handling something you're going to eat) and, yes, like everyone else, they upped their prices (a lot?) No matter, if you want red meat, this is a good choice Loud at times, trying for a rustic atmosphere. You can watch the food being cooked, servers are courteous and as prompt as the kitchen prepares. When you have to wait for a seat, plan on waiting on your food- not the servers fault- no one can serve you until the food is ready. read more
