Easily the best casual Family Steakhouse in Highland's County! They are a long time Central Florida chain with about eleven locations. Popularity- Busy when the snowbirds are gone and gets crazy when they are in town. They open early on Sunday (11 am) and I was waiting by the door with twenty other hungry folks. By noon, there were easily 100 folks happily dining. Pro Tip- They have call-ahead seating. Atmosphere- You know the deal; western kitsch and lots of wood. There is a restaurant side and a walled-off bar side. The restaurant side has some big tables and can get noisy. Pro Tip- If you are a single or a couple, ask for the bar side and it will be much quieter. Be sure to send me a message on Yelp and thank me! Adult Libations- Full bar with a big plus! They are two-for-one on virtually all drinks except top shelf, every day from opening until 7 pm! My two House Margaritas were ice-cold, a little tart, and the proper strength so I was content. Customer Service- I've eaten here many times and rarely had a problem. It seems they understaff the bar a little so sometimes there is a bit of a wait for drinks. My servers have always been friendly. Food- All entrees come with endless hot yeast rolls with cinnamon butter, a bowl of bottomless salad with garlic ranch dressing and one side. Pro Tip- Most folks are not aware that if you ask, they will happily substitute another salad dressing. They have seafood, pork, and other entrees but I'm focusing on the steaks today. All the usual steaks are offered. If you are a steak aficionado, you are generally going to get "Choice" graded steaks here which is to be expected. "Prime" grade is generally in fine-dining steakhouses. My 9 Oz Filet was cooked as I requested. There were plenty of grill marks but not the "sear" that you get in fine dining. It was reasonably tender and flavorful as was expected for a "Choice" cut. Pricing- My meal with my 2 Margs and tax was $32. For the size and type of steak, all the fixings, and two drinks, that's not bad at all! I need to drive quite a way for a fine-dining steakhouse. Went to Cody's for lunch. I got the prime rib and saved $4 by ordering from the lunch menu, but the serving size was not less then the dinner menu. Beers are 2/1. The salad is delish. Servings are large and the food was so good! Our server Jill was very attentive and friendly. read more

Delicious food done right Easy to read menu with plenty of choices for all the picky eaters. I went for one of the specials 14oz NY topped with blackened shrimp it was over cooked to my liking ( rare ) but it still good yummy black beans and yellow rice and Endless salad that comes in a huge bowl.Warm bread for the table with cinnamon butter for your dipping pleasure. Cody's is our favorite restaurant in Sebring (and probably all of Florida). The menu has everything you could ask for. From steaks to salads and quesadilla to seafood and fish. I personally always get the blackened Haddock. The fish is so tender and flakey you could eat it with a spoon. Their signature bottomless salad goes with everything and can be customized if wanted. Tonight we had Gwen who was an absolute doll and was a great sport with my dad's goofy antics. We will be back soon and it won't be soon enough! read more

Honestly, my veggie burger was not bad. It was tasty but I was so full from the peanuts I could barely eat it and I did not touch my potato at all. The other food was okay. 15 year old ordered salmon and 16 year old ordered fajitas. It certainly was not gourmet food, but as a stop on 27 on the way home from Orlando, the food satisfied. I'm sorry that I do not remember the name of our server because she was absolutely lovely. A former Davie resident, she chatted with us and made us feel very welcome. I do NOT recommend Cody's at all for any reason! My family consisting of 4 young children, my husband and myself went there in the evening. It wasn't very full or busy. It started out good but end terribly! The waitress never returned to fill our drinks; she never even asked. We all left the restaurant very thirsty and we left to go to a store to buy water! My son got the smallest steak on the menu. We ordered it medium and it came out completely rare. Completely rare! The waitress came to our table ONCE to ask about the food and we sent our son's steak back to get cooked as ordered. It took 20 minutes to return to us! 20 minute! My husband and I each ordered a porterhouse steak. I've never eaten that cut of steak before. I ate 4 bites out of it total. it was absolutely disgusting. It tasted horrible. My husband tried two bites and said the steak was bad. The waitress returned once to ask about the meal and I told her about my steak and my sons. She had the manager come over who was very understanding. At the very beginning, the waitress told us that the children would each eat free since we ordered three adult entrées. When she brought the bill, everything was on there and I asked her about it and she did go take them off she said. We were charged for a salad and paid for it. The salad was not a special one and it was supposed to be included in the mea as the side. We rarely eat out as it's a treat for our family and Cody's was a FAIL and a total DISAPPOINTMENT!!! We've been there 3 times since we moved here, our first time was 5 star all the way, Mallory was the best server. Our second a two with a new server who wasn't trained well, didn't know bar, just looked bewildered when my husband's steak was so tough he couldn't chew it, fortunately manager took it off our bill. Last time was a three, food came out literally when we put the first bite of salad to our mouth. Our waitress took entree's back to kitchen until we finished our salads. But when when we got them back they weren't hot and my ribs were dry. I'd go for the rolls and salad which are the best I've ever tasted, except the cinnamon butter is margarine. We only eat at 2 franchise restaurants...this is one. The food is always good. The salad is delicious and plentiful. I did delete one star. I ordered a beer and I could taste that the tap wasn't clean. I mentioned to Gwen, our server and she immediately told the manager. It's the beer distributor's job to clean the taps. They need to step up their game. I had the 1/2 chicken. It was moist and tasty. My husband had the prime rib. He enjoyed it. As an aside, we also order Thanksgiving dinner from this location. Definitely recommend! Something here for everyone! It was really busy when we arrived but we were greeted by our server Albert right away and he brought our drinks pretty quickly. He was knowledgeable of the menu, friendly, and efficient. The salad was crisp and fresh, the rolls were heavenly! We tried this place twice. What a disappointment. I mainly blame the manager and the food quality. First time the sirloin steak was grainey/tough and the chicken tenders were extremely small with very little meat. The second time we both ordered the chopped steak and it was served cold. They warmed it up for us, but it was tasteless. The server informed the manager who checked on people around us but avoided us like the plague. No management skills. This was the second time I ate at Cody's. The first time, my steak had so much gristle it was hard to eat. Tonight I ordered filet, medium rare. When it arrived it was spiral shaped and cooked to death. Sent it back. Ten minutes later after I'd finished my salad, bread, and potato, a second "filet" arrived. It was medium rare on the very center, but the rest of the piece of meat was well-done. How do they even do that?? I was offered another potato, but at that point I was so disgusted that I refused it. I should have just sent the second steak back and asked for it to be comped. My company Christmas party was held at Cody's in the room by the bar and it was FABULOUS!!! Vicki, the owner/manager, worked with our last minute party and had everything set up. She proactively checked in with me 2 days before to confirm the party and numbers and selected Cat and Taylor to be our servers. They were both excellent! People arrived, they took orders, we played games, they brought appetizers, we played more games, they brought dinners, we played more games and they cleaned up. It went incredibly smoothly and I would absolutely plan another event at Cody's! Oh, and the food was delicious and everyone got to order what they wanted off the regular menu. Cat and Taylor were into our party spirit and helped everyone enjoy their time. Vicki checked on me, the organizer, to be sure I had taken a moment to eat. Very thoughtful!
