This is a hidden gem. Everything is so good and fresh. Their curry is my favorite. Highly recommend this place.

Went there for PHO and although the service was great (especially during COVID 19) the food was just ok. Broth was bland.

The location was a little hard to find, as the Yelp map points to the street across but we followed the signs into the dialysis plaza and spotted the spacious outdoor seating. Very bland. Very good portions but just bland. No flavor and the chicken looked and tasted like processed meat of some sort. Definitely not like fresh. We made it tolerable by adding lots of soy sauce. read more

Coconut Cafe is delicious Thai in Merced. We have quite a few places to choose from. The way they prepare their dishes are different from others, in fact they all differ in their own way. Which makes Coconut Cafe unique. The food here is always good and flavorful. The wait staff and wait times are my only gripe. It always seems that they are always flustered. This place has the BEST curry in town. You can order according to which meat and how spicy you want it. They also serve the most delicious duck pho. The pad thai noodles and appetizers are SUPER yummy. The broth in the soups are VERY flavorful. The staff is nice and friendly. The restaurant is bright and clean. Service was just ok. Has to ask for the basics like utensils and spices. Food was generally good, though yellow curry was overly sweet. That's a trend for most Thai food in Merced. I would definitely order again! - Green Curry: 3 out of 5 Mediocre. The flavor wasn't immaculate and the coconut was strong in this curry. There are other places in Merced that has better Green Curry (in my opinion). I would try a different dish instead. - Korean BBQ: 2 out of 5 There wasn't enough flavor in the meat itself. We came here for some pho, but turns out they were already out so we ended up just staying since it was already late. Took forever for food to come out even though they weren't even busy. We ordered Lao style papaya salad which was very spicy and wasn't even good (other places usually asks how many pepper, but this place didn't even bother asking). We also ordered chicken chow mein which was full of veggies and very little noodles. Their pad thai noodles was hard and my daughter choked on it. Their pad kee mao was wet and very spicy as well. It was our first and definitely our last time eating here. The only good thing about this place is the server was nice and she took the pad Thai off our bill which is only right because we didn't even get to eat it. I'm not sure why Merced has so many Thai restaurants, but none stands out. Would rather take a drive to Stockton for some good Thai food. read more

Food was cooked perfectly and the staff was way friendly. I got the yellow curry and my wife had the vegetable chow mein and it all was very delicious. I'm here for the weekend but I come from LA. This has to be the best yellow curry I've ever tasted! I usually always order yellow curry from different places and end up throwing it away but I couldn't get enough of this one. The spring rolls are also very good. The Thai tea was perfect for me as well, but it's a bit on the sweet side incase you're not into sweet things I'd recommend you try it first because it's sweet but not too sweet. I called in at 6:06 pm and was told that it would be 25 to 35 min wait. I got there at 6:36 pm and paid. I was told that they are working on my order as it's been a busy night. I paid and waited in the car until 7:05 pm and by then I gave them a call. The waiter told me that they are putting my order together. I asked for a refund at that point it's been over an hr for my order which only consisted of 2 entrees, 1 appetizer and 2 drinks. The food was okay. The cashew chicken needed more salt, the pork chop was bland, the Thai tea were way too milky. The only thing I like was the shrimp in a blanket. read more
