The food was So Delicious!! First time eating here. Why did I wait soooo long??? I'll be back! The service was outstanding!!! I enjoyed everything about this place. I highly recommend it, it's a 10!

Not necessarily my first choice for Thai options but will come if my family or friends want to dine here. The service here can get extremely slow especially during busy times. The pho broth is nice and light. I usually like to order the Thai papaya salad from here too but it can get a little salty at times. Overall the food presentation is decent but tastes pretty average. If you're into drinking and go during a time when Lucky Lotus (bar next door) is open, you can also order a cocktail directly from your table.

Staffs are super friendly and talkative. The server will ask questions just to make sure it is what you really want which is good thing. Som tum Thai style, duck noodles, seafood pho, and pineapple salmon were what we ordered. I liked pineapple salmon even though it was not a chunk pineapple. It was small tiny diced pineapple sauce on top of salmon with steam vegetables such as carrot asparagus broccoli and string beans. Health dish to me. Sum Tom was good tending toward salty side. The duck noodles and seafood noodles were okay nothing special about them. I would assume their rice plates would be a hit as well as appetizer, salad, or any finger food. Ohhh of course he went for Thai tea and Thai coffee. Thai coffee was not as strong as I liked it to be. Sorry no pics for the drink we were way too thirsty. Skip the Q part cau the A will be yes I would visit them again for the rice plates

    Dead roach in the pho

My soup came with a dead roach floating right in the middle of the bowl. Do not recommend.

$4+ extra for tiny peanut sauce

Food was okay but definitely not worth the price, there are better options in the area. Ordered $50+ in food and requested peanut sauce instead of the sauce they offer with the spring rolls and was told it'd be extra but wasn't expecting $4+ for a measly cup of peanut sauce. Seriously? Will not be back, absolutely ridiculous.

There's plenty of parking. We were welcomed kindly by the employees working. It was a little chilly but I'm sure that was welcomed as Merced is quite literally a human oven. Kang keaw (2/5): flavor was pretty good...at first. It had this really weird after taste that didn't make this dish enjoyable. The texture of the various vegetables were too hard. Rad na (4/5): good flavor. The texture of the noodles were chewy. Bad experience: While I was eating, a moth (or some bug) flew from somewhere and landed in my food! Shocked I didn't know what to do and killed it on my plate. Overall, I've had better Thai food places than Thai Cuisine II. I will not be coming back here. Food was meh and if you were to order from here I recommend take out.

I have ate a lot of pad Thai dishes from various Thai restaurants and Thai Cuisine II is by far one of my favorites, exceeding with their pad Thai dish! The noodles are always perfect--never soggy and never dry. They're full of flavor and juicy when slurping, leaving a delicious residue on your lips. The portion can feed two, but I would recommend taking one to-go for later. Looking forward to come back soon.

I selected #3 Satay Chicken, #61 Gai Himaparn, #10 Crispy Wings, and #33 Grapao Fried Rice. YUM YUMMY YUM!

5 Stars from the time I walked in. Friendly staff, Amazing food, Very clean restaurant. Thank you Johnny for the kind and attentive service. I tried 4 different dishes and all were amazing. Super Delicious! This is a must go if you're in Merced.

The look outside looks regular but remember the old saying, "never judge a book by its cover." The inside is super clean, organized, nicely decorated (I wanted to steal some of the wall art) but jail time is worth it. Anyways let's fast forward and get to the whole shebang. 1. Parking is shared with other businesses but there are plenty. 2. Restaurant is plain outside but the inside . Everything is up to date from the tables, chairs, ceilings, walls, etc. 3. The ladies bathroom smells like roses. I'm not kidding. They only have single bathroom which is the downsize. 3. Staff was awesome, in uniforms, and smells good too 4. Plenty of options even for a GF like me. Portions are huge and prices are good. 5,6,7,8,9,10........ They have a fan . Will be returning when I'm in the area Go and give the restaurant some love and support your local business, especially California

Trying their beef pho, chow mien, and egg rolls

This has to be one of my top five spots in Merced. This restaurant serves amazing food such as Fried Rice, Chow Mien, Egg rolls, Spring Rolls, but my all time favorite is their Pho! Packed with flavor, the broth alone is so delicious. I go for the beef pho minus the meatballs. Honestly something about the meatballs in any kind of pho just doesn't sit well with me. Everything else though, the beef, noodles, onions, and that spicy chili for an added kick hits all the right spots on my taste pallet. Seriously, if you have not been here you need to try it out. I love walking into this place because it is a fairly big size restaurant, and most of the time they're busy. You're lucky if you go into this place and it's not packed. The servers are always speedy, and extremely friendly. One thing I a stickler about is having my water filled, and they stay on top of that. For desert, the mango sticky rice is amazing. You would think rice with coconut milk and mango wouldn't hit, but it does! Love the restraint vibes with the high ceilings. This place is located in the Promenade which has dense parking so be prepared when visiting this fine establishment. Highly recommended

We chose to order: - Imperial Rolls (chicken, shrimp, a lettuce, cucumber, cilantro, and bean sprouts in rice paper wrappers) with a delicious peanut-soy dipping sauce; - Tom Kha Kai soup (Coconut Chicken), Spicy 3 (1-10); - Chicken Pad Kee Maow (Drunken Noodles), Spicy 3 1-10). The food came out quickly and very fresh. The Imperial Rolls were tightly wrapped and stuffed well (albeit more like cigarillos than the larger egg roll size you'd expect). And they had 2 small shrimp in each, as opposed to the pictures in the menu which showed 3 shrimp lining the insides. Cuts happening everywhere. ‍ The Tom Kha Kai was well-blended (coconut and broth melded beautifully and creamy!), chicken, mushrooms, and white onion slices were perfectly cooked in a serving bowl and not the usual sterno-fueled soup contraption. It was mildly spicy and probably the best I've ever had! The Chicken Pad Kee Maow was different than others I've had. Sam Cafe adds in a little sweetness (Tamarind?), broccoli, chunks of cabbage (also slightly sweet), carrots, onions, red peppers, tomato chunks, and basil...along with the requisite large rice noodles and white meat chicken. Truly satisfying and delicious without feeling super oily, burnt, or lacking sauce. The entire meal was a great deal and an amazing find in the middle of the Central Valley! Next time I'm up this way, Sam Cafe is on my itinerary!

Ordered a large Bún bò Huế and spring rolls to share. FYI, there is no pork blood in this dish in case you're looking for that. It was definitely enough and such a deal compared to the Bay Area. We asked to share everything and they brought us appetizer plates, bowls, and a servicing spoon. Quite surprised as I feel like we typically have to ask for this stuff from a restaurant staff. I felt like it was extra which is nice. Like I didn't expect appetizer plates or a serving spoon. Super kind. The wait staff was also super great. It wasn't very busy when we came by because it was like 6pm, a bit early for dinner. The wait staff came by and checked in on us. It was nice. They even let us know when they were going on their break. It's a big restaurant so I'd say it's really good for groups and there are tables that sit probably at least 8. Anyways, I'd come back if we're in the area.

Let me tell you-from the second you walk in being warmly greeted to the second you walk out with warm "thank you for coming in, hope to see you again soon" , it's amazing! The ambiance and decor is warm and bright. It's tropical feel with the mix of burnt salmon orange and cool pops of aqua are inviting. It's clean and modern. It's cozy and feels home like. The place was updated with new tables and chairs, nice navy blue table cloths, chairs and bench seating, a new check out counter was all tastefully done, the dishes are clean white "china" with gold trim. The glasses are like a dainty goblet and you feel like you are in an expensive, ritzy place. You can sit anywhere you'd like. You are greeted and conversed with, taking your drink order. The drinks are brought to you with a smile and you tell her what you'd like to eat. If there is something you aren't sure of they are excited to explain. The presentation is absolutely amazing! We eat with our eyes first and let me say that my eyes were very excited and happy! We were used to the cuisine we had before and so we didn't know what to expect. Our dishes didn't disappoint! I had my usual, Panang Curry with chicken and added mixed vegetables and sticky rice. My husband had BBQ Beef. My sons had the combination pho and chicken satay. From the first bite to the last it didn't disappoint. The Panang was gorgeous and flavorful! The veggies were perfect and I ate until I couldn't eat anymore! The BBQ Beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. My son loved the pho, it looked and smelled amazing and tasted so good! My younger son didn't waste any time with the chicken satay. It was tender and flavorful. We will definitely be back. It is STILL our favorite Thai restaurant. It's a gem in Merced.
